Chapter 75 - 75 Do You Have to Hit Me So Hard

75 Do You Have to Hit Me So Hard

Zhao Chuchu glared at the man who was lying on the ground now.

“I hate it when people follow me like that.”

Qiao Heting lay on the ground. He couldn’t even react to what the lady had just done to him. All he knew was that he was standing one second and tossed around the next. It hurt so much that it was hard for him to get back up.

All his image was ruined by a simple throw from a lady.

“You don’t have to go so far.” Qiao Heting gritted his teeth.

That was the first time in his entire life to have experienced such a defeat.

Fortunately, it was very late at night, and no one saw it.

“I did warn you last time to never sneak up on me.”

“But, I didn’t sneak up on you. I was waiting for you.”

“Yeah, right.”

Qiao Heting got back up and complained. “I just wanted to ask you what happened back there. You didn’t have to try and kill me for that.”

“If I really wanted to kill you, you’d been a corpse by now.”

“Well, then, it looks like I’ll have to thank you for not doing that.”

“I found out about Yuan Hui through Zhao Xing and saved her.” Zhao Chuchu told Qiao Heting a simplified version of how Zhao Xing tried to rob her last time.

Naturally, Xie Heng was not in that conversation.

“I see… Thank you for telling me that.” Qiao Heting bowed, but the pain in his lower back almost made him gasp.

Zhao Chuchu noticed that and slipped her arm into her sleeve. She took out medicine that she had made in her spare time from the carry-on space.

“Take it. If you sneak up on me again, this won’t be the end of it.” She tossed the medicine to him.

Qiao Heting caught it reactively.

“Don’t follow me again!” Zhao Chuchu warned and left.

Qiao Heting watched the lady leave, and a few seconds later, he let out a gasp.

“Shit! It hurts so much!”

With his hand supporting his waist, he walked back towards the county.

When Zhao Chuchu finally returned to Lengshui Village, the sun was already rising.

She was surprised to see that Xie Heng was awake.

“Aren’t you tired?” Zhao Chuchu walked into the house and noticed that Xie Jun was still soundly asleep. “Did you not sleep?”

“I just woke up.” Xie Heng gently replied. “Did she get back?”

“Yes.”

“There’s hot water over the stove. Go take a hot bath. You’ll catch a cold.”

Zhao Chuchu turned to look at the stove and noticed the fire was still flickering. It made her wonder if Xie Heng had really just woken up as it seemed like the fire had been going on for quite a while.

“Thank you.” She also wanted to take a bath, and Xie Heng was attentive enough to notice that.

Just as the lady was about to head outside, Xie Heng suddenly asked, “Did you run into any trouble?”

She paused and thought, “Trouble? Does Qiao Heting count as trouble?”

“Not really.” Zhao Chuchu turned and smiled. “Just a small inconvenience. I’ve already taken care of it.”

“Good then.” Xie Heng smiled.

That smile stunned Zhao Chuchu a little.

“The water’s getting cold.” Xie Heng got up.

“Huh? O-oh!” Zhao Chuchu regained her wits and walked quickly towards the stove.

Xie Heng’s smile deepened even more. It was as if his expression had turned gentle.

As Zhao Chuchu scooped the water into the bathtub, she couldn’t help but think of the smile she had just seen.

It finally made sense to her why so many ladies still insisted on marrying Xie Heng even though he had become blind.

It was almost impossible to reject that handsome face of his.

When Zhao Chuchu came out of the bath, Xie Heng had already returned to her room.

She took a nap and was woken up by a series of whispers from the garden.

“It’s so cute! Can we keep it? Please?” Xie Jun begged.

Zhao Chuchu got out of bed to check it out and was shocked by what she saw.
