Maisy was in complete shock. Everyone began to look at her with disdain. They knew that Maisy had been diligently working as a part-timer. Thus, they believed that she could never afford such an expensive product. They quickly concluded that she was wearing an imitation.

“How amusing. Looks like she’s just another b*tch who puts up an innocent act in front of our instructors!”

“Right? Look at her, trying to trick us with a fake!”

As everyone began to make fun of her, Maisy was baffled by the situation. She could not understand why her classmates would treat her like that when she hadn’t done anything wrong. The bracelet she wore was among one of the accessories that Jay had given her. She put it on because she liked how pretty it looked and had no idea why that would make her a shameless person in their eyes.

“I-I’m not!” Maisy finally managed to shout.

Everyone was stunned by her sudden outrage. The room immediately quieted down. However, her classmates still could not hide the contempt in their eyes. It didn’t take long for them to start talking about Maisy again, belittling her with ugly words as if she wasn’t present in the room with them.

As Jay walked through the door, Maisy’s dejected expression immediately caught his eyes. A faint smile appeared on his face as he knew she had met with a problem that she couldn’t solve on her own again.

“What’s wrong? Do I need you girls to tell my lady what she can or cannot wear?” Jay suddenly asked, catching everyone’s attention. He had a smile on his face. Unlike a cheerful one, it was cold and threatening. Everyone felt a chill run down their spine. They all knew who Jay was as the successful young man would frequently appear on magazines and shows.

Not a single soul dared to make a voice as they were terrified that they would offend the uninvited guest.

Jay slowly approached Maisy and wrapped his arm around her shoulder. The smile on his face was almost gone. As he wasn’t wearing glasses, the cold stare in his eyes made everyone else shudder. “If any of you has opinions on what my girl is wearing, then you come at me. Don’t mess with what’s mine,” the man warned.

Everyone held their breaths as they watched Jay take Maisy with him and left. It wasn’t until they were long gone that they finally let out sighs of relief.

On their way back, and even after they’d returned, Maisy didn’t say a word. As they lay in bed and were about to fall asleep, she suddenly tugged Jay’s shirt. With a blushing face, she awkwardly thanked him. “Thank you…” She was embarrassed. It had looked like she was a little kid who could not even solve her own problems and always needed another person to help her.

Jay’s expression turned soft, which was a rare phenomenon. He slowly lowered his head to kiss her forehead. “If you really want to thank me, then you should hurry up and get pregnant.”

Unfortunately for the man, Maisy shook her head. “C-can we not do it today? I’m exhausted. What about tomorrow?” she softly asked.

Jay laughed and gently flicked her forehead. “Of course. What a good girl.”

Even though Maisy promised Jay that they would do it the next day, the man was too busy with his work. When he returned late at night for the next few days, Maisy had already fallen asleep. Their lives continued as normal with them rarely running into each other. The only thing that had broken the normalcy was that Maisy was suddenly contacted by Katie, saying that she wanted to apologize in person.

Maisy had rarely interacted with Katie at school as the latter had always treated her like an enemy, something that she rarely paid attention to. There was no reason for her to refuse her classmate’s request.

Katie seemed like she was genuine with her apologies when she visited Maisy at Jay’s place with a lot of presents.

Maisy was pleasantly surprised by Katie’s gesture, but that wasn’t the only thing she was surprised about. It seemed to her that Katie had taken a long time to make herself look beautiful and elegant before visiting.

“Where’s Mr. Hamilton?” Katie asked after looking around and couldn’t find Jay.

As Maisy poured a hot cup of tea for the guest, she turned to look at Katie completely confused. “Aren’t you here to talk to me? Why are you looking for him?” she asked.

Katie started to cough unnaturally because of that question..
