Chapter 333 - Come Stay at Our Home

At the dining table, Yao Tang was able to put up an act with her Second Uncle Yao Familyfor the sake of not returning to Yao Yuan’s villa. After all, that was what she had wanted.

However, she knew that all of that was simply an act. She never took what Jiang Wan and Yao Ronghad said to heart. Now that they had finally left the dining room, she could finally leave them as well. What she didn’t expect were their reactions.

Jiang Wan’s heart ached.

It seemed that Yao Tang had already drawn a line between them. By calling them her uncle and aunt, she had shown that she didn’t belong to either Yao Yuan’s family or theirs.

Did she think that they didn’t care about her?

Clasping Yao Tang’s hand, she took a deep breath. “Tangtang, you’ve been living on the school campus for months,” she started to say. “Once the holidays come, where would you stay? Why don’t you stay with us? We have a small room at home, and we’d love to have you there.”

Upon hearing her aunt’s words, she knew that they truly wanted her over. Even then, she shook her head.

“There’s really no need for that. I’ve already rented a house, where I’ll be staying for the holidays, so you don’t have to worry.”

Rented a house?

How long had Yao Tang been in City A? For her to have rented a house outside, could that mean that she had never been welcomed in Yao Yuan’s home? How could a young woman live this way?

Jiang Wan clenched her fists. “That Yao Yuanreally is a bas—”

She wanted to curse them to the deeper cracks of hell. However, upon gazing into Yao Tang’s face, she knew that this wasn’t the right time to say it.

Instead, she sighed and take her hand into hers. “Come stay at our home,” she said. “We live in the downtown area of City A. While it isn’t as big as Yao Yuan’s, it’s big enough for the rest of us. Besides, your household registration is with us. If you don’t stay at our home, where would you go?”

Yao Rong didn’t stop the car as he glanced up at the rearview mirror.

“Let’s go home,” he said kindly. “I’ll make whatever you want to eat. From now on, you don’t have to think about formalities. Just live in peace.”

Yao Rong had the same thoughts as Jiang Wan.

Yao Tang wasn’t a bad child. She had extremely good grades, and she was excellent in all aspects. If she ever were to become their daughter, then they could imagine just how successful she would be. They didn’t understand why Yao Yuancouldn’t just support her.

If they had left her alone like this, who knows what would happen to her?

“That’s right,” Jiang Wan stated, continuing to hold her hand. “Your Uncle is an excellent chef. You can say any food you want, and I’m sure he could make it. What do you say?”

Yao Tang may seem cold and disrespectful at first. However, there was more than meets the eye when it came to her.

The child had incredible thoughts about everything under the sun. It was why she was so indifferent to other things. She didn’t mean to look disinterested and aloof. It was just what she had experienced.

Jiang Wan sighed, shaking her head.

Yao Tang was an excellent kid, but she was afraid that she’d only be bullied for her aloof personality. If she stayed under their protection, perhaps she’d have more security. She wouldn’t have to be so judged by those around her.

Not allowing her to refuse, the couple brought her back to their home.

As soon as they arrived, Yao Rong immediately worked in the kitchen, creating a table filled with all the best dishes. Jiang Wan, on the other hand, sat beside her and talked to her about her studies.

As she heard about her life in No. 1 High School, Jiang Wan smiled and nodded before sharing about her life back when they were still at school.

“The dishes are ready now,” Yao Rong called as he stepped out of the kitchen with a pot of soup in his hands. “Why don’t you come and taste your uncle’s cooking, Yao Tang?”

However, just then, a knock came from the door.

As Jiang Wan was getting their rice and Yao Rongwas preparing the table, Yao Tangwas the one who had gone to open the door. However, as soon as she pushed the door open, she saw a young woman in a red dress standing by the doorstep.

However, as soon as the girl saw her, she impatiently pursed her lips. “Who are you? Where are Uncle Yao and Auntie Jiang?”

Without even hearing her reply, the girl shoved the luggage into her hands. “Take my suitcase up to the second floor.”

Yao Tang cocked up an eyebrow as she watched the strange girl walk into the living room.

Jiang Wan, who had just taken out a bowl of rice, gasped. “Linlin, why are you here?”
