Qin Man patted Yao Ran’s arm. “Ah, I’m so lucky to have you as my daughter. Otherwise, I wouldn’t know what to do,” she exclaimed. “Mom is truly blessed to have you.”

Within a few seconds, she waved her hand. “But let’s not talk about me anymore. I believe the Young Master of the Cheng Family had taken a liking to you. Otherwise, why would he give you his business card?”

Her eyes glistened with joy.

If Yao Ran managed to become the matriarch of the Cheng Family, then the Yao Family would rise along with them. Not only would it bring in investments and partnerships, but they would also be showered with monetary gifts.

It was integral that Yao Ran captures Cheng Zhou’s heart.

Only then could they win.

..

As soon as Yao Tang had finished eating, Cheng Yan sent her back to the school dormitories.

“Make sure to eat,” he reminded, handing her a bag of snacks and drinks.

“Hm.” She nodded in reply and headed back into her dormitory. There, she could see that her roommates were still awake.

Everyone was chatting happily about the events that had just transpired. Lin Xin was quiet, as usual, but she was nodding along to their chatter, smiling silently.

When she saw Yao Tang finally enter the dormitory, she immediately stood up and poured a glass of water.

“Sister Tang, you’re back!” she exclaimed. “You must be tired from that car ride, right? Drink some water first.”

“Thank you.” Yao Tang took the glass of warm water and handed her the bag of snacks. She motioned toward them. “See if there’s anything you like to eat.”

“You’re the best!”

Lin Xin immediately pulled out a bag of potato chips and handed it to her other roommates.

Just as she was about to say something else, Yao Tang’s phone rang.

She pursed her lips. Who could that be?

As soon as she took out her phone, she saw Jiang Tian on the front of her screen.

Excusing herself, Yao Tang walked to the balcony and picked up the phone. The stars glittered in the dark night, and the atmosphere was peaceful.

“Hello?”

“Sister Tang, I miss you so much!” A bright male voice sounded from the other end of the line. “When will you be returning?”

“I’m not sure. What’s the matter?”

She watered the plants on the balcony with one hand as she held the phone with the other. Her expression remained blank as always.

It was truly a relaxing night, at least, other than the chatterbox at the other end of her phone.

Jiang Tian’s voice echoed from the phone as he continued to speak. Truly, it was as if she hadn’t seen this man for years with how fast he was speaking.

“Do you remember the problems you raised with our company’s medical equipment the last time?” he said quickly. “The department has already addressed your concerns, and as such, we’ve chosen to bring the first batch of medical equipment out on the market.”

“As our company’s medical consultant, we would love to offer you 5% of the company’s shares as a thank you for your great help.”

There was a short pause when he added, “Don’t turn it away, you got it? If you’re going to refuse, I’ll give this to Yao Si. The guy’s been holding a grudge against me, saying that I stole his spotlight or whatever.”

Jiang Tian continued rambling over the phone.

“Hm…” Yao Tang nodded.

Jiang Tian just continued to babble as if nothing had happened. He looked like a little boy who had just met Father Christmas. If they met in person, she’d probably see him waving his hands over the air.

No one could’ve expected that he was a suited man sitting in his large office.

Who would have thought that Director Jiang of the Jiang Dong Medical Facilities Group would be such a chatterbox?

“Sister Tang, our Jiang Dong Group is organizing a seminar with the other hospitals and organizations in the country. The seminar would be in City A, where Yu Jing will also be attending as an honorary speaker,” he said. “Would you like to go?”

“As we will sponsor the event, we can arrange for you and Senior Yu Jing to sit next to each other. It would be a great story for both the teacher and the student to reunite. Don’t you think?”

Jing Tian was already looking forward to the event.
