The more Luke approached the old library, the more he found goblins and had to take them down. It seemed that they didn't know that survivors were there, but they were searching in the right area… to the point where Luke began to wonder if it was a good idea to lead footsteps toward that place. However, when he shared his concerns with Shalia and Rina, Shalia used her magic to manipulate the snow and erase those. That consumed a constant amount of mana, so Luke had to fight the goblins without relying on magic… even more so when she had to bury the corpses deep in the snow.

When the sun was starting to set, Luke found the library. He had to look for quite a while since the building wasn't that tall and was mostly buried by the ice and snow. After walking around the building, Luke found an open window. It was big enough for an armored adult to use, and all the others had been frozen. It was clear that such a thing had been made by human hands.

"Is someone there?" Luke asked. "I am Mark's son, and I have come to help."

Luke wouldn't enter a confined space and give such a golden chance to be attacked from all sides. Considering that it was the only entrance he found, it was bound to be guarded by people. For a while, he didn't hear any answer, but eventually, he got one.

"That was fast… how many are with you?" A woman's voice echoed inside the library.

"I came alone, hence the speed," Luke replied.

Luke heard many sighs inside the building. Those people sure were naive… they imagine that a full battalion would come to rescue them? That was quite insane… while it wasn't surprising that they would look down on Luke due to his appearance, they decided to do so just because he was alone.

"Do you have some sort of plan?" The woman asked.

"Yes, I will get the hell out of here if you make me waste a single more minute," Luke replied.

"Don't do anything suspicious… we have some hot-blooded people here, and we are on edge," the woman said.

"I am sure we will get along. I am pretty hot-blooded myself," Luke said and then entered the library.

In a few seconds, Luke's eyes got used to the darkness, so he found the people guarding that entrance. Among them, there was a short and black-haired woman that looked a bit like that guy who attacked Luke… which wasn't a good sign. Regardless, she was at level ninety, so it seemed that she was some sort of relative to him.

"My name is Rachel… it is nice to meet you," the black-haired woman said.

"Let's skip the introductions, shall we?" Luke asked. "Show me how many people you have here, and I will think of a way to leave the city."

Rachel nodded. While Luke wasn't that friendly, he was direct, and he was thinking seriously about helping, even though he came alone. That was more than enough for the time being,

Rachel guided Luke, and her friends kept a close watch of him. Their levels were low, so he wasn't that worried about them. Besides, Rina and Shalia had his back. Before they can think of doing anything, Shalia will turn them into ice sculptures.

Regardless, Rachel guided Luke to a room where the bookshelves had been getting rid of, and a lot of space had been gained thanks to it. However, even though it was pretty large, the room was still cramped with survivors. At least two hundred of them were there… kids, elders, injured people… it will be difficult to bring everyone to Florida. As if that wasn't enough, Luke found a certain individual on the other side of the room… It was the black-haired man that attacked him. At first, that man grabbed his sword to fight, but it wasn't the best of ideas to attack when his target was so far away and so close to his sister.

"You see… your friend over there almost killed me a few hours ago. I will get him for that, sooner or later," Luke said.

"That fool…" Rachel said and then sighed. "He probably thought that you were an enemy… Please forgive him. He isn't sleeping a lot these days, so…"

"No way, I will demand compensation," Luke said.

"I hope you can settle this without taking anyone's lives… he is a fool, but he is my little brother, and because of him, we managed to survive this far," Rachel said.

"Who the hell is this guy?" The black-armored man asked after he approached.

"He is the help that you almost killed…" Rachel said while massaging her temples. "Luke, this is Richter, my little brother."

"He can't help us, he is weaker than me, and he still has the help of those two," Richter said.

"Tell me then, why did you run away from someone weaker than you?" Luke asked.

"You rely too much on your skills. What would you be able to do if one day the system took them away?" Richter asked.

"The edgy boy sure is paranoid," Luke said and then smirked.

" I am older than you, asshole," Richter said.

"Your color choices say that you are still. In your teens, though," Luke frowned.

"Enough of that," Rachel said. "We don't have time to waste fighting amongst ourselves… do you have any plan on how to escape after seeing our situation?"

"First, I need to hear if you guys already tried to escape and what happened," Luke said.

Rachel nodded and then began to talk. They tried to escape three times, and each time they lost some of their most powerful survivors. The first was when they tried to open their way by using sheer strength against the army of ice goblins.. Although the enemies were level fifty and Richer was already at level eighty, he was overwhelmed, and the others couldn't keep up with him.
