Even though they left when the sun was about to set, the group arrived at their destination after just five hours. It wasn't that far away from Miami, and it seemed like a problem to be so close to Frank's camp. Still, even he wasn't crazy enough to attack them for no reason… he might be gaining power in some way, but he knew that the real enemies still were much stronger.

The city wasn't that big, and the zombies had already been dealt with when Luke crossed it with Jennifer's group. While some destruction could be seen, it was fairly small considering that it could have thousands of inhabitants. There was a small river crossing the city and with some weird fish that were probably spawning upstream, but the real important fact was that the city was like one kilometer wide and large… it had a precise square shape. To create some walls, it would be easy. They would just need the right spells, and Luke already knew the one he had to learn.

Earth Wall Skillbook.

It grants you the power to summon an earth wall that can withstand the level of the skill multiplied by 100 points of damage.

Price: 2000 coins.

While everyone was checking the houses that they could use, the time to use the shop finally arrived, and Luke found the spell that he wanted. He brought that, but before going to use it, he checked the tier eight skill books available in the shop. He was surprised to see that Weapon Augmentation wasn't among the skill books that cost one hundred and twenty-eight gold coins. The others that had the same effects as Meditation weren't there either… However, Luke found some swords that had interesting effects.

Vampiric Blade

Recovers five percent of the damage caused in living beings as HP.

STR + 20

Durability: 50/50

Price: 102.400

It was a bit expensive, but the effects were superb… However, even after seeing that weapon, Luke wasn't so sure if he wanted to buy it… he wanted to keep saving it until he got the full set that would increase his HP, MP, and SP.

"How many coins have you guys had on the highest?" Luke asked.

"Two hundred thousand," Rina said.

"Fifty thousand," Shalia replied.

"You seem like the type who spends money easily…" Luke frowned. "Well, I can understand that... I am not so sure how I manage to keep all of this sum... I am loose with money. It is probably because I can't actually hold it."

"That is exactly right," Shalia said. "It is better to use the coins as soon as possible instead of letting them accumulate and lose everything for being stingy when a tougher opponent appears."

While Luke could see where she was coming from, and he wasn't the type to plan ahead, he had a feeling that this war would be a long one, and the more he gains the methods to increase his HP, MP, and SP as soon as possible, the better. So, he only bought the Earth Wall skill book.

"This plan of yours is pretty interesting, but the defensive power of an Earth wall is quite low," Rina said when Luke began to summon Earth walls around the city.

"That is why I am going to create several layers of it, the cost is small, so I can summon many of those every minute," Luke said. "The cost in gold coins of the skill is also pretty small, so soon the others will be able to use the same spell and repair if the necessity arises. Those who don't want to fight can do this and feel more useful."

Rina nodded, Luke was being very thoughtful for a chance, but it was only because his parents were part of the equation. In any case, even if Luke could summon those several times in a single minute, that was work that would take days to be completed. That would delay the strength that Rina and Shalia were increasing every day by draining his mana… or so they thought. Luke summoned several Earth walls and piled them up above each other until they became forty meters tall, and then he sat down to meditate… his plan was crazier than they had imagined.

When morning came, half of the first layer of the wall was complete, and the survivors were as shocked as they could since Luke had just disappeared without saying anything. Not to mention, he created something overnight that would normally take days and would require many machines and materials.

"You have been working hard," Amanda said after approaching alongside Celia. "First, we will create some defenses, and then next…"

"Make everyone level up as much as possible," Luke said. "Tell everyone to find all weapons in the city, preferably small ones like nails and needles. They will have to be at least level fifty to be able to repair the walls when something happens, and they will also need some long-ranged attacks to attack possible invaders and to fish in the river."

"Nails and needles? Those are weapons?" Amanda asked. "You said that the monsters could use poison attacks. It is safe to eat them?"

"In my hands, yes…" Luke replied. "Also, as long as you don't eat their heads and intestines, it is fine. You can take a bite or two of those without dying, but prepare yourself for some diarrhea."

Amanda frowned after hearing that, but she didn't ask how Luke learned that. It didn't seem like a good idea to ask. In any case, it was a source of fresh food that they couldn't ignore. In any case, they left to tell the others about the news. While there weren't zombies around, Artiuno could take several people to any place, and with Luke's help, even a massive horde wouldn't be a problem. Still, Luke could easily imagine himself getting bored of that... he had no choice but to preserve, though.
