While Pain Resistance and Fire Resistance didn't level up in the next six hours, Cold Resistance did, so Luke didn't feel like he had wasted his time causing harm to himself. Fortunately as well, he didn't awaken to a new fetish after getting used to the pain. Maybe he could have reached level three, but he stopped when the soldiers began to prepare for the jump.

"We have fifteen minutes…" Billy said. "I will find the right partners to make the jump alongside you guys. Cool down your heads and don't get nervous, no matter what you see."

Luke didn't feel like putting his life into the hands of another person, but right at that moment, he didn't have any other choice. As if things weren't annoying enough, Luke could only carry a few weapons with him… while the long swords fit more his fighting style, Luke decided to carry his daggers since speed was the key in that mission.

"We received information that aside from zombies, Lisbon is dealing with a massive number of Grivens," Billy explained. "They are yellow lizards that walk in two feet and have some sharp claws and teeth… a short weapon might not be the best option against them."

Luke didn't say anything, but he looked toward Billy as if he was trying to say that he didn't ask for his opinion. In the end, he just sighed and presented them to the partners that would help them on the jump.

"The trick is to not hesitate, follow the others in a line and then jump… it will be risky if we get away from each other," Billy added.

The groups began to prepare the parachutes, and Luke felt like clicking his tongue even more than usual because he couldn't move that much and because someone behind him was essentially limiting his movements. Still, that kind of thought disappeared when the back of the airplane began to open. The soldiers looked like quite used to the altitude, but even Luke gulped when he saw the outside and the land below… his feat suddenly got heavier.

"... By the way, are you two going to be fine?" Luke asked.

"If you are worried about the fall, then it is fine," Rina said. "Out existences are pretty much connected to yours like superglue."

That was strangely convenient… Nevertheless, the scenario began to change, and everyone began to see destroyed cities and forests on fire. The soldiers began to move to the border of the airplane and then began to jump one after the other.

"When you feel comfortable with the height, tell me, and I will free you from the parachute,"

The guy behind Luke said that… that was bad. It means that he had the power to make Luke fall whenever he felt like it. Since his body got stronger… he wondered if he could survive the fall… as long as he didn't land on his head, there was a small chance. In the end, Luke and the others approached the border, and without thinking too much about it, he jumped.

During the free fall, Luke began to wonder if what was happening right now was real… one week ago, he was just a slacker college student, and now he was about to land on Lisbon while using Parachutes… that was just insane. At first, Luke's heart began to beat like crazy, but after a while, he got used to it while they were approaching the city. He could see numerous Griven moving around the city and attacking the zombies that were not blocking the exits even from several kilometers above. Since one week had passed since their arrival, the zombies were about to close their encirclement.

"This is pretty fun," Shalia said while smiling.

"This is pointless for someone who can fly…" Rina said while her face was completely white.

"Why do you.... look so tense... if you… can fly!" Luke said slowly since it was hard to talk during the free fall.

"Because I am not the one in control here," Rina said.

Nevertheless, some of the soldiers began to open their parachutes while they were heading to the western part of the city where the airport was. Strangely enough, there was a large concentration of Grivens there… Perhaps Frank communicated with the survivors and told them to stay nearby. Nevertheless, that was their destination, and they had to clear the area for the airplane to land in the next few minutes.

When the soldier used the parachutes, Luke's tension disappeared completely since the falling speed decreased considerably, and it wasn't worrisome anymore. When the soldiers began to land, the grivens quickly approached them and began to attack. They didn't even have time to get rid of their parachutes and quickly pulled their weapons. It was unexpected, but it seemed that the monsters noticed their approach, even from the sky… Still, despite that, the soldiers were more than holding their ground. Using the coins they obtained in the attacks, they bought a full set of armor and weapons that were at least tier eight. While they didn't have many skills, their overall gear was much better than Luke's.

When Luke was fifty meters above ground level, he told the guy behind him that he was ready. Once that happened, he pulled some rope, and then Luke began to free fall again. Two givens appeared where he was about to land, but he stopped them with Spark Balls.

Grivens were yellow-looking because they had some sort of carapace pretty close to their skin that covered most parts of their bodies. It was weird to find an agility-based monster that also had a powerful defense. Nevertheless, they couldn't do a single thing against Luke's Spark Ball, and when he landed, he sliced their throats with his daggers.
