Chapter 38 – Part 2

I slowly opened my mouth as if I was waiting.

“This… Even though I told you so much, you are still committing sins with your words again.”

With the calm but chill tone, they shut their mouths and cautiously gazed at me.

“Blessing is not a privilege you must receive. It is up to the saint to grant that privilege or not.”

The crowd sank into a heavy silence the next moment. After all, since no saint had ever said this openly, they seemed to not know how to react. I didn’t stop there and pushed on even more, regardless of their reactions.

“I think it is time for me to go back because my heart is hurting.”

At that, the silent people were startled by my words and opened their eyes wide. Then, the people began to blame those people who criticized me.

“How could you say such rude things to the Saint?!”

“You should be grateful for not being arrested for blasphemy. How could you curse when you’re about to receive a blessing!”

“I can understand why the Saint is so determined to go.”

I clicked my tongue at their words, getting harsher and harsher.

It was true that I used psychology against them. Still, if you look at them closely, there must be some people who joined in my rumors, even among those who swore and slandered like that against those men. I just felt more bitter.

I stopped them at the right moment.

While there was a little overheating phenomenon, I would have been burned at the stake had I not been the Princess of the Rohelio family, so this little bit was nothing.

I hoped they could understand what was going on with just one word. I also hoped they could realize that I am no god — I am just a human being. No matter how saintly I may be, I was still a human after all. Being a saint doesn’t mean I am not a human.

As Lisandro said, it was not like I was going to be a god.

“I can’t turn a blind eye to the majority because of the minority, so I will give blessings, as I said earlier.”

“…Saint!”

“The gracious one!”

I couldn’t punish them for this so I wanted to get revenge in this way, although it was petty.

“But a blessing is a blessing.”

“….”

“Only those who deserve it can receive it.”

What do you mean only those who deserved it? It is a blessing if you want to give it to me!

As I put my hands together, small groups of lights like fireflies began to gather and filled my hands. The people were mesmerized by the spectacular sight. With this dazzling golden light, they couldn’t say that I was possessed any longer.

Then, that swarm of lights wrapped around me beckoned towards the people. I scattered the light with my hands. The golden light spread through the air and was placed on the heads of the people, like petals swaying in the wind.

Everyone was beaming with smiles.

“Thank you, Saint! Thank you very much!”

They put their hands together and stared up at me more as if praying. Meanwhile, those who did not receive conspicuous blessings could not do this or that and just kept their mouths shut.

I lightly said to them.

“Even though you have sinned this time, the blessing worked because God gave you one more chance. So, I hope that you treasure them well.”

At those words, the faces of those who were filled with dissatisfaction brightened.

“Well, I will leave for a while. May the light of God L’Aquila be with you.”

Finishing those words, I turned around and left the balcony after I gave them a bright smile. I felt a little relieved.

Verdo was in the temple while I was in the carriage with Frey and Lisandro.

“How did you really do it, noonim? Do you just find something like that with your all-out devotion?”

Lisandro seemed surprised that my blessing could distinguish those who believed the rumor from those who didn’t. I smiled helplessly as I leaned my head against the wall and relaxed.

Blessings were supposed to be passed on by putting your hands on the top of their heads. It wasn’t easy to scatter the holy power as a whole like this time, even with those golden holy powers so I could use a wand though that was an ability I still wanted to hide.

Plus, I had the power of God. It was more difficult to handle. Because of that, it was a little harder to release holy power from my body.

My body was exhausted and tired. As Tino said, I was still unable to use it skillfully yet.

“Is there such a thing?”

Lisandro tilted his head with a stupid face. A glance at Frey made me aware.

Although you were said to be smart, I couldn’t help but adore you when you looked so stupid in front of me.

I explained it to him personally.

“Didn’t I say it? I said, ‘Even though you have sinned this time, the blessing worked because God gave you one more chance. So, I hope that you treasure them well’.”

At those words, he was surprised with a face that he had just realized.

“You said all those curse words and then gave them another chance?”

“When did I curse like that?”

I smirked at Lisandro, who spoke exaggeratedly.

There was a reason why I mentioned having qualifications while giving the blessings. Blessings and conditioning for everyone, those who participated in my rumor will believe that God had given them another chance.

If so, they would now shut up their mouths and develop their faith to show their devotion. There were also people who won’t.

Shouldn’t you give three chances? Still, I was not a patient person, and I didn’t intend to give them three times.

Just do it one more time. I won’t stay still.

“Then, noonim, when are you leaving?”

“I will leave tomorrow. What about you?”

“Ah… Should I just follow you? I am worried about you.”

“Don’t worry.”

“I’m more worried about him! Don’t touch even the fingertips of noonim!”

“I will try my best.”

Frey smiled and simply responded. He calmly listened, this time without stopping Lisandro. He was going to leave to investigate the mountain range, and I had already told him that I was going on a trip with Frey.

Of course, I had to give him my permission so that he could follow me later after arguing that it could never happen. However, I would definitely go whether he followed after me or not.

“Of all things, overlapping schedules. I will join you right after work. You have to keep in touch. Don’t go around recklessly, and stick close to your escort.”

He nagged more.

In the past, it was me who was nagging. I was in the position now of being nagged, but I knew that everyone was saying that to me because they were simply worried.

My heart pounded with joy at the fact that I would be going on a trip to another region, leaving the Imperial Capital for the first time.

“Even so, I am excited because this is the first time I am leaving.”

“…Frey, you will die if you don’t watch noonim well. I’m afraid she’ll get lost.”

“When did you see me take my eyes off noona?”

He smiled softly in a relaxed tone.

Thank you so much for always supporting the novels I work on, even if you don’t buy me a coffee, I really do appreciate it a lot.
