Chapter 456: Fifth World: Sibling Rivalry

Sibling rivalry is one of the oldest dated conflicts in the world with the first murder ever to be recorded as a result of it. From the very beginning, the relationship between these half brothers was never going to be a good one. It was doomed from the start.

They were born from two different women with the only common denominator being their father. The deep hatred and disdain was passed down directly from that umbilical cord when they were born and their father didn't help matters favouring one son over the other. All this was in the outside world but the feelings ran so deep that Qie Ranzhe reflected their terrible relationship in-game.

Qie Anzhie was designed by his mother to compete with Qie Ranzhe and prove that he was better than his older brother in every aspect but Qie Ranzhe wasn't baited into such childish games. This was mainly because his mother was depressed after his father divorced her and kicked her out of the family so he could marry his mistress Qie Anzhie's mother.

His father didn't drive him out of the family but it was apparent that his position as heir was handed down to Qie Anzhie and he was meant to groom his younger half brother to take over the Qie family. Qie Ranzhe wasn't stupid neither did he feel the need to fight when his mother was going through a lot of pain.

This is how GameX was born funded by himself, his mother's side of the family and various international investors. He wanted to prove to himself and his girlfriend at the time that he didn't have to be a part of the Qie family to make a name for himself.

He had made it without the intervention of the Qie family but the hate and resentment were etched deep in his consciousness which reflected in the way he fought Qie Anzhie in the bamboo forest.

One word to describe it was ruthless. Qie Anzhie wasn't one to back down so the two fought it out leaving the forest with a bald patch that would anger environmentalists.

"Should we... I mean do something?" asked Shao Lan feeling rather idle. Under his two colleague's coercion, he was convinced to sit down and watch. He wanted to intervene but the two stopped him.

"Here, just eat this and stop talking," said Dai Yu shoving a handful of nuts in the man's mouth. This was something Qie Ranzhe needed to do by himself otherwise they would be caught in the crossfire and get their eyebrows burnt off trying to be a hero.

"Does he look like he is at a disadvantage?.... You just sit there and watch a good show," said Machu passing over some dried fruit without taking his eyes off the fighting pair. Just as he said this a flaming bamboo tree came flying in their direction.

Instead of scattering in different directions, the three were relatively calm as Machu opened his fan and with a swipe of his hand the tree's trajectory changed as Shao Lan erected a barrier for them to watch safely.

It was unfortunate that the bamboo tree struck whatever was left of the gravesite like a short-range missile further infuriating Qie Anzhie. He was incredibly pissed off when his mother's memorial tablet shattered which intensified his attack towards Qie Ranzhe and now that the entire gravesite was ruined he lost it.

"You fuckin dare!" he yelled at Machu completely disregarding Qie Ranzhe.

Machu removed his hand on his chin mumbling, "Oh shit," contemplating on what to do next. He was no match for this crazed lunatic and could only rely on Qie Ranzhe to save him.

While Qie Anzhie was distracted yelling at Machu with crazed eyes, Qie Ranzhe swung black calamity unleashing an arc of ferocious flames slashing Qie Anzhie's cheek adding to the scar his mother gave him defending her rich client.

Qie Anzhie stumbled backwards touching the bloodless wound on his face in disbelief. This was the problem with Qie Anzhie. He was a man led by his emotions which meant if someone else provoked him during a fight he would shift his attention to whoever provoked him recently. This meant he was vulnerable to attacks by his actual opponent. So when Machu provoked him his crazed mind focused on him forgetting his true opponent.

Being easily distracted like this was his major flaw no matter how powerful he was. The disbelief in his eyes vanished replaced by demented eyes and he retaliated against Qie Ranzhe.

His initial forte was earth element but because he had been tainted with demonic Qi he was incredibly powerful using the forbidden spells that could only come at a high price.

He leapt backwards with his arms stretched out as he made a hand signal. With a loud bang, he slammed his crossed palms on the ground raising the earth in a powerful explosion.

Qie Ranzhe flipped backwards with the rings cutting through the soil to get to Qie Anzhie. Qie Anzhie easily dodged the rings as his left hand dug into the soil before thick blocks of soil attacked Qie Ranzhe. A cloud of dust filled the air creating a thick fog with the pair of siblings right in the middle of it.

"Hahaha..... how interesting. My righteous brother actually murdered a Taoist priest for his toys," how righteous you are," said Qie Anzhie with a devilish smile that could send shivers down one's spine. "Well, then let's see what your new toy can do against this..... hahahaha," he said before a bright red array appeared activated by Qie Anzhie's blood.

Qie Anzhie vanished the very next moment but his spine chilling laughter was still ringing in the air. Qie Ranzhe's brow creased with great vigilance as he sensed something coming. From beneath the cracked ground came the sound of something digging through the soil.

It was undoubtedly a dead creature of some sort and Qie Anzhie had used a forbidden technique to bring them to life and fight on his behalf.

Well, he was wrong about one thing. It wasn't only one but a multitude and they weren't only creatures but dead humans as well. The amount of resentment harboured by the undead was suffocating for a regular person but Qie Ranzhe wasn't normal after all.

He stretched out his arms with the two spinning rings hovering in his palms. He whispered something to black calamity and the sword quivered before splitting into multiple swords surrounding Qie Ranzhe. A soft breeze swept past him making his long hair and garments flutter with the wind creating a dazzling sight.

The undead at different stages of decomposition stared fixedly at the beautiful sight unmoved angering Qie Anzhie. "So fuckin unreliable. What are you waiting for? Kill him!" he yelled and so the army of the undead attacked Qie Ranzhe.

"Okay, break time is over," said Machu before leaving the comfort of the barrier to fend off the undead army. But it was soon evident that their assistance was unnecessary when they realised they were competing with a sword for creatures to fight.
