Chapter 422: Fifth World: Cat Fight!

Wen Qinxi realised he couldn't speak the truth otherwise they might have a very bad ending so he decided to lie like a rug. Go big or go home, right? With nothing to lose he lied, lied and lied to the very end. With a tender affectionate gaze, he sat by Qie Ranzhe's side looking exactly like a wolf in sheep's clothing.

He reached out with his slender fingers and touched Qie Ranzhe's chin drawing him closer with a grimace on his face. "Tsk, it must be painful. I am so sorry I did that. I was a bit harsh on you," he said rubbing the wound with his thumb.

At first, Qie Ranzhe was entranced by that handsome face moving closer inch by inch. No one knows what was going on in the sect leader's mind but the tips of his ears were red. But that sweet tantalizing blush vanished at Zhao Zhi's words. His face turned pale like a bucket of ice-cold water had been poured on his entire body.

He removed Zhao Zhi's hand on his chin his expression extremely cold but Wen Qinxi wasn't fazed. "Huh, I see so I should have just let you take advantage of me? Is that it? Sect leader Qie you are something else," said Wen Qinxi seeming aggrieved as he dropped such an ambiguous sentence.

Qie Ranzhe was about to ask for details but he found himself tongue-tied. It seemed he had come to the conclusion that he had done something to Zhao Zhi which culminated to him being bitten. Feeling somewhat self-loathing, he said, "I....., I will take responsibility."

Wen Qinxi had slightly twisted the truth. In his mind, he was thinking that he had helped Qie Ranzhe with his breakthrough issues so he kissed him cancelling the debt. He knew Qie Ranzhe would misunderstand but he also didn't want to clarify. He intended for this man to sweat bullets for a while before making things clear. This ought to teach him not to casually drink in the presence of vultures.

"Sect leader Qie don't think too much. Instead, you should carefully examine yourself instead of worrying about insignificant things," said Wen Qinxi before walking towards the door in slow steps while Qie Ranzhe was distracted.

Qie Ranzhe hadn't carefully inspected his meridians and spiritual root while getting rid of his hangover earlier but after Zhao Zhi's words he felt something was different. While Qie Ranzhe was lost in thought, Wen Qinxi decided to slip away. Only the heavens know how easy it would be for him to yield if Qie Ranzhe pressed him on it.

As soon as he exited the door, Wen Qinxi vanished into thin air that even if Qie Ranzhe had immediately snapped out of his trance he wouldn't have been able to catch up with his shadow.

Wen Qinxi ran away to get some peace and quiet but he didn't expect to find a group of women gathered at the bank of a stream that flows from a mountain spring. The situation down there didn't look calm in the slightest. There was a lot of finger-pointing and accusations flying around.

"How interesting," he mumbled to himself as he settled atop a hill to watch the good show. He sat with his legs crossed while searching for some snacks to go along with the live show but he couldn't find any. Feeling rather frustrated, he drooped his shoulders in dissatisfaction.

His elbow dug into his thigh as he used his hand to prop up his chin in a fist while watching the ladies who were escalating things. If this was the real world he would have called the cops but this was in a game after all. It would be interesting to watch these fake sisters tear at each other's hair.

Just when things were getting good, a bag of what could only be melon seeds was placed on his shoulder. Wen Qinxi took the bag while looking up. Who else could it be other than Qie Xieling? The boy smiled at him before sitting down next to him while holding out another small bag.

"Shixiong, I brought some peanuts too. Do you want some?" he asked in a rather giddy tone like a kid watching a movie with his parents for the first time.

Wen Qinxi shook his head while opening up the tiny bag of melon seeds. "Who do you think is going to slap who first? I think Lei-Jie is going to slap that short one with a pink dress first," he explained while pointing at the group of women.

"How do you even know they are going to fight?" asked Wen Qinxi before cracking the shell of a melon seed in between his incisors.

Qie Xieling chuckled while handing him a piece of paper. "You are the one who orchestrated this fight yet you dare ask me," he said while Wen Qinxi unfolded the piece of paper.

"Are you fuckin kidding me?" uttered Wen Qinxi while eyeing Qie Xieling with a soul searching gaze.

Qie Xieling thought his Shixiong was upset that they placed bets after eavesdropping on him. He was just about to apologize when he heard Zhao Zhi say, "Lin Lin, why did you guys leave me out when I set up the stage? Who said I didn't want to place a bet as well?"

Qie Xieling, "...."

'That's what he is mad about?' thought Qie Xieling pressing his lips in a thin line stifling his laughter.

"Uh Shixiong, I apologize but it's not too late. You can still place a bet," he said trying to appease Zhao Zhi but it seemed futile so he decided to change the subject, "By the way which one of them really gave my father a lip hickey? Everyone placed a bet on that as well but I still haven't decided who to bet on. How about it Shixiong.... help your junior win easy money."

Wen Qinxi licked his lips in embarrassment. He dared not look at Qie Xieling while mumbling, "It was me," in a mouse-like voice.

Qie Xieling raised a brow seriously doubting his ears. It was about time he asked his father to clean out all that ear wax that was making him hear things. "Huh?"

"It was me," he said again looking away with his face heating up faster than a clothes iron.

The boy seemed to not have heard him clearly because he leaned closer and said, "Ah, Shixiong my ears are due for servicing. Sorry, can you repeat that?"

Wen Qinxi finally stared at him having lost his patients after repeating it two times. "It was me damn it. I did it," said Wen Qinxi feeling like a suspect that easily succumbed after just two minutes of being interrogated by a bike cop. Seriously, he should never commit a crime otherwise he would confess to it with ease.

"Oh, I will place a bet on..... oh shit Shixiong. You.... mhmm," said Qie Xieling with the muffled noises coming from his mouth covered by Zhao Zhi's hand.

"Are you trying to let the whole peak know? Seriously, calm the fuck down. Now, are you going to behave?" he asked which was followed by Qie Xieling's enthusiastic nods. Wen Qinxi let him go but Qie Xieling wasn't going to let the matter go. It seemed this Shixiong was an expert.
