Chapter 405: Fifth World: A Snoring Zhao Zhi

A pair of glistening eyes appeared from within the dark forest as the voices beckoned him to follow. And so the boy whose mother abandoned him, whose father tossed him into the street like a stray dog and whose brother had him beaten in public followed the lone figure never to be seen again.

There was one word echoing in his mind all these years. Kill! Kill! This word reverberated in his mind as he bathed in the blood of the demon that called him forth to be his servant. Like a phoenix rising from the ashes, he emerged as a powerful being with one goal in mind which was destroying the Qie family while feeding their souls to his master.

He murdered his mother in cold blood only to wail with her bludgeon body in his arms while caressing her affectionately. "Shh mother, your son will avenge you," he had whispered at that time as though coaxing the corpse he had killed by his own hand.

With the instruction of his master he managed to exert revenge on the Qie family by opening that realm but who would have thought his dearest brother would survive? "How troublesome," he had said watching Qie Ranzhe from the shadows.

Now that Qie Ranzhe had served himself to him like a roasted pig with an apple in its mouth, how could he let him go? A grim smile appeared on Qie Anzhie's lips as he summoned dark sinister shadows to attack Qie Ranzhe.

Sensing an ominous demonic Qi from the man before him, Qie Ranzhe unsheathed black calamity and whispered something to the sword. Shimmering in excitement the sword left its master's hold and made a shing sound as it multiplied itself on the spot. Several replicas of black calamity surrounded Qie Ranzhe pointing in the cloaked man's direction.

Qie Ranzhe could sense the sword's impatience waiting for his command. Qie Anzhie let out a psychotic chuckle his eyes menacingly dark. "Still so troublesome...," he said before his eyes turned a terrifying shade of red as he made a hand signal. The shadows howled like the wind attacking Qie Ranzhe.

This was merely Qie Anzhie's wishful thinking that his attack could take down Qie Ranzhe. In the next second his face was suddenly blinded by a white light dispersing the frenzied dark shadows.

Qie Anzhie attempted to dispel the bright light but replicas of black calamity emerged from the white light blindsiding him.

Qie Anzhie was left with no choice but to leap up into the air but he didn't escape this ordeal unscathed. His arm was slashed in the process but he didn't seem to be in pain.

Mid-air he took out a blood-red double-reed wind musical instrument (Guan) and played a high pitched and fast pace tone.

Dark shadows emerged from this evil instrument calling forth the scorched bodies of the creatures. The corpses opened their eyes with a faint red glow as they sprung up like delirious beasts towards Qie Ranzhe.

The several swords changed target and ruthlessly sliced and diced the creatures. While a PK battle between black calamity and the corpses was going on, Qie Anzhie unsheathed a sword with the characters hell raiser from its sheath.

Qie Ranzhe frowned looking at those distinct purple vines at the edge of its blade. This sword was incredibly familiar to him. How could it not be when he grew up seeing it on his father's side. How on earth did it end up in this man's hands?

A sly grin appeared on Qie Anzhie's face looking like a bloodthirsty animal. He caressed the sword while saying, "Uh, sect leader Qie.... it must be that you recognised this legendary sword. I wonder who it belonged to..... HAHAHAHAHA."

Qie Ranzhe's heartbeat quickened with his sturdy chest heaving violently as he recalled how his family members were slaughtered in that monstrous realm. The image of his father's body covered in blood with his hand stretched out towards him while mouthing his name filled his mind.

The memories flashed by like it happened yesterday. Even the smell of blood filled his nose like he was back in that horrid place. He was re-living this nightmare again.

Seeing that Qie Ranzhe was immersed in his dark past, Qie Anzhie slowly approached him intending to stab him with their father's sword and end it all. With their faces close to each other, Qie Anzhie showed a sinister smile before driving the sword into Qie Ranzhe's abdomen.

But before he could land his strike, Qie Ranzhe suddenly summoned black calamity as he took a step back and slashed across Qie Anzhie's chest sending him flying a few feet away.

With a look of shock, Qie Anzhie fell onto the roof touching his bleeding chest in disbelief. A streak of blood flowed at the corner of his mouth as he laughed hysterically. "Sect leader Qie is still so heartless."

As soon as he said that he stood up and vanished into thin air leaving a cloud of black mist and hell raiser on the tiles of the roof.

Qie Ranzhe didn't pick up the sword with his own hand but he stretched out his hand and raised it with his internal energy.

The sword hovered above ground in an awe-inspiring display but Qie Ranzhe wasn't fooled. That man must have left it on purpose. He used a cleansing talisman and as expected the paper burnt to ash as a powerful demonic Qi screeched from the sword.

If he had touched it, he would have died a horrible death on the spot. Qie Ranzhe placed the sword in a spirit-trapping bag before jumping off the roof. The replicas of black calamity vanished when they were done dealing with the corpses.

Qie Ranzhe ambled over to the sleeping Zhao Zhi and crouched before him. The young man had his eyes closed with his brow creased like he was in pain. Concerned, Qie Ranzhe stretched out his hand to smooth the crease in between his brows before transferring some of his Qi to the injured Zhao Zhi. His sleeping appearance was incredibly enchanting softening this old virgin's heart.

This feeling didn't last because the once peaceful Zhao Zhi began to snore like a pig. Qie Ranzhe's hand paused mid-air as he watched the man rub his nose like a pig rubbing its snout as he turned to sleep on his side.

Qie Ranzhe, "..."

Qie Ranzhe's plan to carry him back to the inn was immediately thrown out of the window. He was seriously contemplating on whether to leave him here but when he thought of all his burning questions, he decided to wake him up.

What began as a simple shove to wake him up escalated to a slap but Zhao Zhi still didn't wake up. Out of ideas, Qie Ranzhe heaved a sigh while taking out the pendant he got attacked over the last time and sure enough Zhao Zhi woke up in a haste.

"That's mine," he said trying to grab the pendant but Qie Ranzhe stood up and flew a few feet away while dangling the carrot in front of the donkey.

"Then come and get it," replied Qie Ranzhe with a smug look on his face.
