Chapter 116: Tenderness

Jiang Yao was looking at Luo Xiao as he was fighting with all his effort out there. His body was trembling, and his energy was about to be used up.

He wanted to rush over to help the younger male, but he understood that it was impossible. This was a fight that Luo Xiao had to fight on his own.

Luo Xiao was on the verge of breaking down, but the snake was not feeling much better. The scales were shattered, the bloodied flesh was in a mess, and the eyes had turned red in pain.

The beast knew that it was at its limits. It could not continue like this, but it was not willing to just give up.

It knew that it was a life and death moment, but at this point, it was also aware that it could not win.

Unwilling, the snake began retreating, and Luo Xiao, who was also on his last legs, did not chase after it.

Instead, he sat down, his eyes full of exhaustion, but he dared not close them. He stayed vigilant as he was heaving one deep breath after another.

Jiang Yao stepped out from the shadows. The fight was over, so there was nothing wrong with helping Luo Xiao guard the surroundings.

When he felt the familiar breath of Jiang Yao, a smile appeared on Luo Xiao's lips, and he closed his eyes in exhaustion.

He swiftly drifted off to sleep, his taut muscles finally relaxed, and his mind began rejuvenating.

Jiang Yao looked at the young man who had passed out, and a helpless smile spread on his lips. He could do nothing else than love him dearly when he saw how much effort he was putting into improving himself.

It was for both of their sakes that he was trying to improve. Such dedication was enough to melt the ice-cold heart of the Seventh Demon Prince, and he gently leaned over and carried the beautiful young man in his arms.

He vanished from the clearing and found a cave not far away. The cave was different from typical caves, as there was a spring inside of it, and moonstones were glittering in the ceiling, illuminating the beautiful grounds.

A few stones could be used as a bed, and Jiang Yao placed a cape on the rocks before he gently lowered Luo Xiao onto them.

He could see numerous cuts and wounds on Luo Xiao's body, but he knew that the snake he had been fighting was mildly venomous, so if they stayed untreated, he would get a fever and turn sick.

Looking at the young man, Jiang Yao was feeling uncomfortable. He was both eager and hesitant. He felt that he would be violating Luo Xiao if he undressed him, but at the same time, it was a necessity.

Taking a deep breath, he began removing the top, only to see a very beautiful and fair skin underneath. However, this fair skin was beautiful, but marred with cuts and scratches from the fight. The red blood was in sharp contrast to the pale skin, and it looked glaring as Jiang Yao observed it.

Gulping slightly, Jiang Yao took out a can of ointment, which had the effect of an antidote for poisons.

He slowly began smearing it on every single cut and wound. No matter how small the wound was, and wherever it had broken the skin, a layer of the ointment was gently smeared on top of it.

In the beginning, Jiang Yao's hands had been trembling, and he felt his heart almost leaving his chest from beating too rapidly, but slowly it turned calm and instead complicated.

Looking at the wounds, all ambiguity had vanished, instead leaving him feeling heartache as he worried whether or not he would be left with scars on his beautiful skin.

After taking care of his front, he moved to the back. There were even more wounds on the back than on the front, and he gently smeared the ointment all over to ensure that he had not missed any wound.

When he finished the upper body, he looked at the lower body, but upon closer inspection, he realized that there was no blood on the clothes, and it did not seem as if it had been torn or broken. His lower body should be without injuries.

Luo Xiao was deep asleep, and did not notice what was happening to him. He felt so secure when Jiang Yao was by his side that he unknowingly had fallen into a deep slumber.

Jiang Yao saw how he was breathing deeply, completely oblivious to his surroundings, and he felt a strange happiness in his heart. To think that he trusted him so much that he would put down his guard.

Stretching out his hand, he gently caressed the head of the boy that was on the stone bed. The smooth skin underneath his fingers was addictive, and he could not take his hand back as he traced the contours of the attractive face in front of him.

When Luo Xiao woke up, he found that he was shrouded in a soft blue light that shone from the moonstones in the ceiling. He could hear the running water of the small spring that was in the cave.

Next to him Jiang Yao was seated. His eyes were so soft and gentle as he was looking at him, and in the moment their eyes met, Luo Xiao felt his heart beat rapidly, and a flush crept onto his face.

Although he was used to Jiang Yao's affection, whenever he had to come face to face with his extreme love, his heart would skip a beat, and sweetness would rise within.
