Chapter 420: Rain’s Trial Part 1

[Bonus Chapter  2/10]

"Elements?" Eie looked at Kana, unsure of what she meant.

"One second… Aoi, Naru." Kana summoned both Aoi and Naru out of their summon space. When Aoi came out, she was still pouting from what happened before. Kana sighed and pulled her into a hug. She then looked at Naru and said: "Naru, help Eie with making a device that will help in detecting elements."

"Okay!" Naru readily agreed he knew Kana was going to try to appease Aoi.

Naru was correct on t. Kana wished to spend some time with Aoi. After being lied to and almost going crazy because of her babies, she felt even worse about forgetting about Aoi. Aoi, who was being held in Kana's embrace, began to tear up. She could feel Kana's warmth.

"Sorry about before. I know I brushed it off like nothing before but just know that you are one of my dear family members too." Kana whispered softly. Her words made Aoi bury her face into Kana's chest as tears ran down her cheeks. This was the Kana she knew the most. The one who cared deeply about her friends and family.

When Aoi spent those days waiting outside the Dong family watching their every move, Aoi felt lonely as she waited and waited for Kana to contact her. But she never did, and this caused Aoi to feel like she had been abandoned. But now, she felt warm and fuzzy on the inside.

Rain woke up the next morning feeling refreshed. She could only remember trying to stay awake while feeling very cold. "I must have fallen asleep..."

Rain got up and looked around. Sadly her situation did not change. She was still in this dark place filled with dead bodies. Her eyes fell on the red light far off in the distance. She clenched her little fists and mustered up her courage to continue on. "You can do this Rain! You need to do this in order to return to mama and handsome papa!"

With her new found courage, Rain continued on towards the red light off in the distance. After many days of continuous travel, Rain stopped in front of the entrance to a gorge. The high cliff walls that surrounded the gorge had blue glowing rocks lighting up the path ahead. Rain gulped as she got an eerie feeling about this place. But she did not want to back down. She gripped her sword and took a step forward, entering the gorge.

As she did, Creige's projected appeared behind her hidden out of sight. He smiled as he watched his daughter face her fears. He knew Rain was the one who did not like dark places. Why this was, he was not one hundred percent sure, but he had noticed she would avoid being alone in the dark. Which was why the biggest part of her trial was to overcome her fear of the dark. He knew as long as she conquered this fear she would be able to grow stronger quicker.

But this trial was not so simple as just her conquering her fear. Each step of the trials the girls were taking would get harder and harder as they got closer to the red light, which was the final goal of the trial. For Yana, it was simple fights until she was finally forced to make cautious decisions and learn to retreat when needed. So far, Rain's trial was to push past her fears of the dark, but now things would begin to really escalate. Because now…

*Roar!*

Rain's body froze when she heard a loud roar.  In the dimly lit canyon, she saw two sets of yellow beady eyes staring back at her. A wave of fear rushed through her body as she watched a two headed dog monster five times the size of her walk out of the darkness. It only took a few steps and stood there staring at Rain. Rain eyes began to turn red. She could see the red light through the top of the gorge. She was scared, very scared. But she felt that if she did not continue forward, she would end up stuck in this strange place forever.

*Roar!*

The second roar made Rain flinch and take a step back, but she held her ground when she realized what she was doing. "No! I have to return." Rain mumbled to herself.  She gripped the hilt of her sword tightly to the point that her knuckles were showing. "I have to do this!"

Taking a deep breath as she tried to calm her nerves, Rain rushed forward with her sword. She knew deep down she could not be as timid as she has always been. When she was alone she felt scared, as if she would never see the ones she loved again. And this feeling became even worse when she was in a dark place. And here she was in a dimly lit canyon all alone with a scary monster in front of her. She had to overcome all these fears and work hard to return to her mama's, handsome papa's, and sisters' side, or else she would forever be stuck in this place alone. These were the thoughts that were running through Rain's mind at this time as she slashed out with her sword towards the monster….

"Yuthia!" Sei yelled out as she walked into the bedroom to see her good for nothing wife sleeping most of the day away.

"Sei, let me sleep..." Yuthia whined as she covered her head with a pillow.

"What do you mean sleep!? You're a damn goddess you don't even need to sleep! Get out of that bed right now or I am divorcing you." Sei said as she ripped the blankets off Yuthia.

"What!? Sei, that is so mean. Why would you divorce me when I look this cute and lovable!?" Yuthia said as she quickly jumped up from the bed and hugged Sei's waist.

Sei looked into those doe eyes looking back at her and sighed. "You need to get some clothes on and quickly. Something happened in the Rural kingdom."
