Chapter 341: Preparing For War

Shirley looked at Kana, whose whole being seemed to have changed. But Kana was not done yet. "Let me make one thing clear. If your people try to start a conflict over this…." Kana slowly got up and began to transform. Her hair fluttered as the floor under her feet began to crack. A wave of energy spread out, causing the three princesses' faces to pale under the pressure coming from Kana. "I will not mind fighting you all."

"Wait, this is the reason we came. We do not want to start a war over this!" Shirley quickly tried to explain things. "I know what I said just now was a bit much. And you are one hundred percent right. My people are also at fault and are the ones who should look at the situation. Although we do not get involved in worldly issues. We still know what is going on. We know there was a world war not long ago. It can't be helped if certain areas are now lacking manpower. It is also our people's fault for not stopping Lanta from leaving our domain. These are all things that need to be taken into account. I only ask, were you able to retrieve our sister's body intact?"

"Yes... We have taken care to washer her entire body and dress her appropriately. Even the coffin was handcrafted by our finest wood craftsman." The dwarven king answered.

"Then we sisters will take the coffin and return home. We must explain things to our Grandfather." Shirley said, bowing her head she then looked up at Kana. "Kana, my words were rude early. I apologize. I hope we can still be friends."

"Mm… I am willing. But this only goes for how your people react to the situation. We may end up needing to fight one another." Kana explained. She had no issues being friends with the three girls. They were all good girls, but this did not mean her people would not react and start a war over this death.

"This… I understand..." Shirley once again bowed her head.  At the same time, a casket was also brought into the throne room. Shirley looked at it and bit her lip before turning to the dwarven king and saying: "Then, as the main representative to the desolate clan, we shall take our leave."

Kana and Creige stayed quiet as they watched the three girls walk out. Kana's expression flickered with a bit of sympathy for the three sisters, but in her heart, since she did not know them well, she held no emotion besides this split second feeling. "Now we wait to see their response. But I have a feeling that things will not go as planned. King dwarf guy, I would suggest amassing your army at the border as soon as possible. For back up, I will go with Creige to the Rural kingdom to ask for assistance. You need to make sure you begin building large trenches along the front lines for cover. Do not just stand out in the open like idiots. I do not know the strength of the enemy, but I do know that in order to not lose thousands of men, you need to have trenches. Equip each one with those magi weapons you have. "

"Trenches?" The dwarven king was confused.

"You dig a large section of ground about two meters deep and use it as cover. And make sure you build standing platforms inside. This way, you are not caught in the open. " Kana explained. This was one of the first things the military camp taught her was how to dig a fox hole or trench to use for cover.

"Okay, I will have them do that." The dwarven king nodded his head.

"Good, when I come back, we will work out a layout on how to defend. So make sure you have a large map of the area ready. Also, don't move your men until the princesses have already left for an hour. Let them go ahead. Out of sight, out of mind. They will not know we are getting ready to build a defense in case things go south." Kana's words were not her asking but ordering. She would defend her new home. She did not want everything Creige worked hard on to disappear.

"Ready?" Creige asked. He knew that Kana couldn't teleport around easily without wasting her once every few day skill.

"Mm… Let's go." Kana said with a smile as she held Creige's hand and disappeared from where she stood along with Creige.

The dwarven king sat there on his throne for a while, staring off into space before letting out a long sigh. "Why is it that I am surrounded by these crazy monstrous people!? Why can't things just go back to how they were when I could make love to my wives and lounge around all day..."

---

Within the desolate races village, inside a small hut at its outskirts, sat five men around a small table with a single candle lit. "No matter what happens, we need to make sure this war starts. I am sick of our race being stuck in these damn mountains. What is the point of hiding here!? If we go on like this, we will all die out."

"MMm… There are so many men in this clan but few girls. The damn old geezer won't let anyone touch his granddaughters. Well, except for Lanta, hehe…  her skin was soft." One of the men said, licking his lips.

"Humph! Someone had to go overboard and kill her. She would have made a good breeding horse if you did not kill her. Right now, we are trying to pass on our bloodline. We can do this with other races as well. With a war ongoing we can begin taking areas over, creating more women for us to herd in as breeding horses." The leader of the group explained.

"What about the deities? If they get involved..." A younger, weaker man asked.

"Don't worry, once we usurp that old man, we can do as we please. The old rules must go. I don't want our clan to die out."
