Chapter 323: Meaning

"Disgusting…. Disgusting… Disgusting… " Instructor Shelly sounded like a broken record. Her eyes went blank as she stood there.  The gun in her hands fell to the ground. Her entire image was gone. Not only was she seen in such a state, but she was called disgusting by the man she liked for so long.

"Umm..." Kana suddenly spoke up as she walked over to Instructor Shelly. She gave a few sniffs here and there before lifting the hair hanging down over instructor Shelly's face. "Oh! Instructor Shelly! Why are you here? Wait, why are you naked!? That's not good, Instructor Shelly! No matter how much you wish to roam around naked, you can only do it in the privacy of your own home! But how did you get so injured!?"

"Hah..." "Haha..." "Hahahahahahahahahaha! This is what I lost too! This here a fucking monster!" Instructor Shelly started laughing like a maniac, and then after her little outburst, she shed what little clothes she had left on and dropped everything else she had in her hand before turning and walking back into the forest.

Kana scratched her head, wondering why this instructor of hers likes walking around naked so much. Although it felt very relaxing when you were alone, she would never get naked in front of anyone else but her handsome husband.  She looked over at Old Fan, completely ignoring  Fan Ji, and asked: "Grandpa, should we stop her?"

"It's fine. Your Grandfather just contacted some people to come get her." He did not say that those people were going to make sure Instructor Shelly disappeared for good. He had already planned to have the person who shot at his new granddaughter pay.

"Thanks, Grandpa!" Kana completely ignored the fact that Instructor Shelly had just come out of the bush asking why she had yet to die. Or it was more that she chose not to hear it since Instructor Shelly had been good to her.

"Miss..." Fan Ji finally spoke up. He had waited patiently all this time, so he hoped that maybe Kana would at least acknowledge his existence.

"Hmm? Food stealer!" Kana yelled as she glared at Fan Ji.

"I would not dare! All these boxes here were delivered under my order! I ordered them all for you!" Fan Ji said with a smile.

"You…" Kana stared at Feng Ji.

"You?" Feng Ji finally thought Kana was going to talk to him, so he was a little excited by his hopes and dreams were short lived.

"You Liar! Lizzy threw this food stealer out! How  dare he try to take credit for the present Grandpa gave me!"  Kana yelled in a huff as she turned and walked away.

"You again!" Lizzy roared.

Fan Ji, who was struck dumb, looked at his grandfather, who was smiling away at him as he was lifted into the air by Lizzy and then tossed for the third time to the other side of the forest. The entire time he flew through the air, he felt as if his grandfather had betrayed him! "Ahhh! You stinky old man, you used your grandson's effort to get on her good side! That should have been me!"

After settling back down and eating some more food, Kana felt satisfied. Old Fan walked over and sat down next to her, handing her a fruit drink. "Lass, you will be leaving tomorrow to go train. This training will be hard. The people there will be close to your own strength. You could say they are all monsters in human skins."

"Mmm… That's fine. I was getting kind of sick of staying out here. Although it is peaceful, I do not belong here. I need to finish things up quickly and return to where I belong." Kana said these words and looked up at the sky. It had been peaceful, and she enjoyed it a lot, but this whole trial has taught her an important thing. She was not human. Now or in the past...

Even if she was someone who did not belong here in the first place, it did not matter. She felt grateful to the person in her memories who raised her for those few years. And she detested the people who made her suffer for the years after.

"So you have come to understand..." A voice filled her head. The scene around her froze. Kana heard the voice and gave a faint smile.

"Mmm… But I still do not get what this Trial was about. Was I supposed to understand that I was never human in the first place? All this did was open up more questions…." Kana felt very confused, but she now understood many things. She had never been human, to begin with and…. She understood that a normal little girl would not have lasted as long as she did. The more she thought about it the more it all made sense that she was never human. She had gone a few weeks without food or water. Something no human should be able to do.

"This trial was to pull out the thing that had been weighing on your heart the most. I did not know what that was and could only create this world from your memories. Some of which I had to piece together. Your true origin I am not sure. There seems to be a large seal on those memories. But this can be considered the end of the trial. Would you like to return? You have to be willing to wake up in order to return." Old Sir could have spoken to Kana at any time but he did not dare until Kana had finally understood. If he did it would not have helped Kana grow. He was the one who cast this spell on her so he could interfere to a point. In other words he lied to Creige. But he still could not wake Kana up forcefully, she had to do so herself.

"Not yet. I will do this training first. Tell Creige I should not be long."
