Chapter 224: Trial Of Survival/Dronic Dungeon Part 31

Kana watched as the young girl entered the cage, feeling very confused. She really did not understand what this girl meant with her words just now. "Should I kill her?" Aoi asked, her brow wrinkled in anger.

"No, it's fine. I will deal with it if she lives to meet me in the cage." Kana replied. She would make quick work of her opponents. If it was not for the fact that she was abiding by the rules, she could have easily killed all the people here and gained first place. But due to what the king had said, she had to make sure she followed the rules. She expected that he was the key to taking down the barrier that leads to the boss room.

"Humph! I should have just killed her when she took advantage of Kana." Naru mumbled his grievances. The two elementals were very protective of Kana. But they also did not go against her wishes.

The young girl looked at her opponent and smiled brightly as she said, "I am sorry, but you will need to die in order for me to be with the one who belongs to me for all eternity."

The big bulky man standing opposite of her frowned. He could sense something wasn't right with this girl's brain. "Look, young lady, no matter what, I will win this match, so you better be ready. I will not go easy on you. This is a deathmatch after all."

"Humph! Talk when I am giving my last breath! Can we start yet!?" The young girl yelled.

The Knight who was overseeing everything nodded and said: "Begin!"

The young girl did not wait for the man to be ready. She shot forward like a ghost vanishing from sight. The man was completely shocked when the young girl disappeared from his view. Even the knight outside the metal cage was quite surprised. "Dark horses will always be dark horses."

Just as the match began, it had ended just like that without her opponent being able to do anything. When she had appeared, she was already mid air, right in front of the man, her dagger stabbing into his throat. She let out a laugh as the blood splattered on her face. She used the man's body as a springboard and did a backflip, landing gracefully on the ground. She then gave a small bow to the man as she said: "I thank you for dying so quickly and allowing me to get one step closer to the one who belongs to me. Your death shall ring in a new era!"

"That crazy girl is very dramatic." Aoi said as she flicked a ball of water in the air. She had thought of sending it flying into the girl's head many times now.

"Kana, can you deal with her invisibility?" Naru asked.

"Mmm… Simple." Kana replied as she watched the young girl skip her way over to her.

"Did you see! I told you I was serious! When the two of us meet, we can both be together forever. No one will ever be able to separate us." The young girl giggled as she bit the tip of her dagger, not realizing she had sliced a bit of her lip off in the process.

Kana frowned and glared at the girl. "No matter what is going on in that crazed brain of yours,  I do not belong to you and never will. My body and soul already belong to my husband."

The young girl's face sank as she lowered her head. Her eyes twitching back and forth at the last sentence Kana just said. "Body and soul…. Belongs… Husband…. No! No! NOOoo! You belong to me! No one can have you! Forget the match. I will just kill you now and then kill myself, then the two of us will always be together! Death is eternal!"

The young girl went into a crazed frenzy and was about ready to pounce on Kana when a big hand covered in metal armor reached out and grabbed the young girl by her head. "You dare disturb my test!?"

The girl flailed about, but her knife only clanked on the armor as she screamed: "Get out of my way. I must kill her to make sure she stays mine forever!"

"You can do what you want, but only in the cage!" The knight yelled as he restricted the girl shackling her.  He then turned and looked at the others and yelled: "What the hell are you looking at? Next pair, get into the cage!"

The next pair was to men, both with greatswords on their back. The battle lasted for almost ten minutes before one of them had their head served from their body. With this match over, it was finally Kana's turn.

Kana had no expression as she walked towards the cage. She could feel a set of eyes burning a hole in her back.  The girl had been chained to a stake driven into the ground and was unable to move. She had no idea what made that girl suddenly crack, nor did she care. She only knew that if she had to fight her, she would end her right then and there and as swiftly as possible, just like that man in front of her with a sword and shield. "Little lady, it is too bad that you have to fight me. Sadly to have to kill such a pretty lady is a sad thing. But such is fate."

"Shut up and fight." Kana was sick of everyone doing some sort of monologue before they began fighting. What was the purpose?

The knight outside chuckled as he said: "Begin!"

"[Dragon Breath]!" Kana whispered and then opened her mouth, took a deep breath, and filled the entire cage full of flames. Those outside all quickly retreated back as the flash passed through the metal bars of the cage.

Instant death.

The man with a sword and shield was turned to ash instantly. Kana stopped her flames and looked at the metal bars, and was quite amazed at how sturdy they were. They had only turned red hot and did not melt or bend at all. "Winner, Kana!"  The knight shouted after he came back too. He had never seen such destructive power. He was afraid that if Kana continued to use her flame magic it would have destroyed the cage that had been built thousands of years ago.
