Chapter 127: Alchemy Part One

[Bonus Chapter 2/3]

After her class calculations and magic theory was over, Kana and Kiliffia got up to head to their other class. Except they seemed to have picked up a small tail in the process. I guess small would be the wrong word for it, more of an old tail would be a better explanation. Behind the two was an old owl man walking leisurely as if he had all the time in the world. Kana had no idea why this old man was following them, but at the same time, she did not care either.

Kana's next class was alchemy. This was one of the classes Kana was excited about to learn ever since she learned that a master alchemist could learn how to make golems. The students for this class were not all the same. Based on their specialty class, they may have had to go to their specialty class instead of going to this class. Most were set in the afternoon, but some were not. This was mainly due to conflicts with the training field and the arena's time schedule.

Kana walked into the classroom with Kiliffia. The two chatted happily as they walked up to the top row and sat down in the same spot as the last class. Kana was a bit confused when she felt a bunch of eyes on her. But after a few seconds, she realized that they were not staring at her but to her side. Kana looked over to see Mr. Lambert seated next to Kiliffia as if it was the most natural thing to do.

Kana looked at the old man who was smiling away and chuckled, finding the old man to be very cute. She couldn't help but ask. "Mr. Lambert, what are you doing here?"

A smile bloomed on his old face as he looked over at Kana, very happy she was talking to him. "I just so happened to want to learn some alchemy today. They always say you are never too old to learn."

"That is very true. Then we will be in your care." Kana said politely.

"As will I!" Mr. Lambert's cheeks turned red as he stroked his beard.

Kiliffia, who was watching the old man, let out a laugh as she pulled out her notebook and a magic pen to write with. Seeing Kiliffia pull out a notebook, Mr. Lambert looked around and felt a little embarrassed since he did not have anything to write on. He wanted to make a good impression, but with how things were going, it may be difficult. Kiliffia tore out a few pieces of paper from her notebook and placed them in front of Mr. Lambert. "If you need more, feel free to ask."

"Oh! Lass, you are very kind. This old man's opinion of you has grown quite a bit! No wonder Miss Kana likes you so much. Thank you!" Mr. Lambert praised Kiliffia and quickly fixed the papers in front of him, and pulled out a magic pen like a good student.

"Hehe, it is a blessing for Goddess Kana to be my friend." Kiliffia replied with a bright smile. She truly did feel blessed that Kana, someone she really looked up to, was willing to be her friend.

"Goddess Kana… This is a good name. I will call her that too!" Mr. Lambert and Kiliffia suddenly began talking about how great Kana was very enthusiastically and loudly, causing everyone to look over at them and then at Kana. This caused Kana to lower her head in embarrassment.

At this time, the teacher for the alchemy class came walking in. She was a young cat girl, most likely not even thirty years of age yet. She looked around at the class to see everyone looking in one direction when she spotted something very strange all the way in the back. "Mr. Lambert, what do I have the pleasure of you visiting my class for?"

"Hmm? Can't you see I am here to learn alchemy? Why are you asking such stupid questions for? Are you stupid? Are you not a teacher of this academy? Should I have them revoke your license for teaching here since your too dumb to figure out why people come to your class?" Mr. Lambert's well-known temper flared up like no tomorrow as he berated the young teacher whose face paled. Mainly because if Mr. Lambert really wanted to, he could make it so she could never teach again!

"Mr. Lambert, shhh!" Kana turned and put her finger to her plump red lips, telling the old man to shush.

Mr. Lambert's attitude turned a quick one-eighty as he said: "Ahh! Sorry, look at me being so mean. Ms. Wakevly, please continue. Ignore this old man."

Ms. Wakevly stared dumbfounded at the old man. She didn't understand why the demon king of the academy was so quick to change his attitude with just a small hush for the young girl two seats away from him. That was until she realized who it was. Mumbling to herself, she said: "The hero of Rural really has her ways… She even made the demon king submit to her. Thanks to her, I won't have to worry about being fired now… I will have to make sure I teach her well."

And just like that, Kana suddenly had another fan. Letting out a sigh of relief, Ms. Wakevly went right to her class introduction. "I am Ms. Wakevly. I will be your alchemy instructor from this day forth. The process of alchemy can be said to go against the will of the world since we are able to take materials and combine them to make new or better materials. We can even infuse life into objects if we so choose once we have a strong grasp on alchemy. It is said that over a thousand years ago, a grandmaster alchemist emerged but on our continent. Where this grandmaster went, no one knows, but it said that he had an army of golems under his command. Although the process of making such golems is known, the items needed to make such things are very rare and cannot b found on our continent."

Kana raised her hand since she had a question on this. "Ms. Wakevly, are golems similar to elementals?"
