Whiz!

Upon Carter's orders, the Zerg Knights turned around and flew off without another word. Their speed of flight was incredible, as they ended up a kilometer away in the blink of an eye.

The distance was not very far, as it was more importantly a formality to show their good faith.

Everyone knew that in the event a fight broke loose, retreating for even 100 kilometers would be meaningless. This was merely for their personal consolation.

"Alright." Carter sat down directly on the ground. "You can discuss little Bai Hechou's issues. I'll sit here waiting. Of course, if you have any other questions, I will be willing to answer them as well."

What the hell were the Zergs doing?!

Hong Dali's anxiousness grew increasingly obvious. He assumed that the two parties would break into a fight immediately upon meeting. Never in a million years did he expect this outcome.

Yet, no matter which way he looked at it, Hong Dali could not figure out the problems behind the current situation.

"Everybody, stay here and wait for further orders." Hong Dali instructed everyone to wait on the spot. He was not worried about the Zergs' betrayal as Little Bai Hechou was in his hands now. Instead, he started a discussion with the rest. "I have no idea what the Zergs are plotting. What do you think?"

"We can't hand Little Bai Hechou over no matter what!" Tang Muxin yelled, "That's your son, and that means… That means he's my son too. There's no way we can give him up!"

Everyone responded in unison, "We can't give him up!"

"No sh*t, of course I can't hand him over," Hong Dali angrily said. "If I can't even protect my own son, what am I still doing here? The key thing is that the Zergs look so calm and composed. How can they be so sure that we will hand over my son? Look at them, they're in no rush to move at all."

"Actually, I feel like," the mysterious man said, "since that Carter mentioned their leader was on the way, why not wait and see what their leader looks like? To be honest, I am really quite curious."

Everyone nodded their heads at the same time in agreement.

Truthfully, everyone was wondering about what the Zerg leader looked like.

Was it a he or a she? Gigantic or puny? Was it something huge like a Queen ant that laid eggs continuously all the time? Or even a whole mother nest? An enormous mother nest?

A slight sense of anticipation built up amongst everyone. As the saying went, curiosity killed the cat. Despite the tense atmosphere, everyone agreed in unison. "Great idea!"

Hong Dali thought about it for a while with a frown on his face. The unrest in his heart grew stronger as if there was something wrong. Yet, he could not figure it out no matter what. In the end, all he could do was to nod and agree. "In that case… in that case, we wait. As long as my son is here, there's no need to worry about them trying anything funny!"

Since a decision had been made, Hong Dali instantly turned to look at the Zerg Knight Carter. "Our opinion is to wait until your leader arrives. What do you say?"

"That is for the best." Carter nodded. "In that case, please wait for a slight moment."

Upon the confirmation to wait, Yin Tianzong could no longer control himself. "Carter, was I not good to you back then? How can you so willingly sell your life for the Zergs? What happened to you? You don't even want to be a human anymore?"

Everyone was curious about this question as well.

It would have been fine if this Carter had no consciousness. That way everyone could have just thought of him as nothing more than a mere puppet.

Yet, somehow, he very clearly possessed his own awareness. This situation appeared strange to everyone.

"I am truly sorry, Young Master Tianzong." Carter turned to look at Thunder Angel and said, "I did not have much of a choice. Now that you mention it, you still don't seem to truly understand the Sky Knights. Since we don't have much going on right now, let me explain it to you, just to kill some time.

"We Sky Knights are also known as Zerg Knights in your words. Normal Sky Knights actually only underwent an incomplete mutation. They are equal to puppets who do not possess their own free will. These normal incomplete forms are not worth much, as they possess little combat value. Roughly one will emerge amongst every ten soldiers.

"As for me, I can be considered one of the lucky ones. I belong to a group of complete form Sky Knights. There could be one of me amongst every a thousand soldiers. I possess my own consciousness and my own combat style. It's even possible for me to proceed and evolve into a stronger Star Knight."

Even Zerg Knights were classified into different levels!

The lower level ones were the normal, incomplete forms. The higher-level complete forms could even possess their own awareness and further evolve!

"Since that's the case," Yin Tianzong shouted, "why are you still working for the Zergs? You are a human! What you possess is human consciousness!"

"I'm really sorry." Carter helplessly said, "I may possess my own consciousness, but I cannot go against my leader's orders. This is a universal rule, and there's nothing I can do about it. I must perfectly execute my leader's orders. In these times, my body will not be directed by own consciousness. Young Master Tianzong, you just have to treat me as someone who has been hypnotized. Nobody can change this."

Carter gave a wry smile as he said that.

Nobody could see his face, yet everyone felt his emotions. "Actually, Young Master Tianzong, I really wish that you can kill me. Only then can I be truly free from all this. What a shame…"

Everyone was feeling horrible after hearing what Carter said.

He was like a puppet on a broken string. He could only watch as he was controlled to do things he did not wish to do, as his hands were stained with the blood of his own kind.

Nobody could do anything about it.

This was truly more exasperating than killing him directly.

Everyone fell into silence.

Suddenly, Tang Long's voice was heard. "Your name is Carter, right? I still have something to ask you."

"Please do. As long as it is something I can respond to, my answer will definitely satisfy you." Carter nodded.

Tang Long asked, "What is the deal with the King Zergs?"

"The King Zergs?" Carter thought about it for a while, as if to communicate with his leader. Soon, he raised his head and said, "The King Zergs are also known by us internally as the Devouring Beasts. They are considered part of the highest bloodline. I trust you should be more or less aware of the specifics of the process on their birth? There should be no need for me to further elaborate."

"Yep, it looks like my understanding was right." Tang Long paused, before suddenly asking, "The strangest thing to me, however, is what you are planning to do with little Bai Hechou? There should be no doubt that he is the inducing factor for the emergence of King Zergs. Yet, I can't figure out what your next plan of action is."

His question was the most pivotal one in the whole issue.

It was true that the Zergs could produce the King Zergs upon obtaining little Bai Hechou, but what would happen after that?

How exactly would little Bai Hechou allow them to induce the evolution of the King Zergs? Nobody, not even Tang Long, could figure this point out.

Little Bai Hechou was definitely crucial to the process, but what exactly was the crucial use for him?

"I'm truly sorry regarding that." Expectedly, Carter slowly shook his head. "This is our top secret. I cannot answer it for you, please forgive me."

Nobody had anything else to say since Carter could not respond.

Hong Dali felt his heart shaking with escalating anxiousness and anxiety.

"Right," Hong Dali murmured. "Even if little Bai Hechou is an inducing factor, what purpose could he serve? How can he act as an inducing factor? Why must the Zergs obtain him? Once they do, what will happen then?"

Hong Dali had a nagging feeling that if they could not figure these questions out, they would always be in a passive position when facing the Zergs.

What exactly was the objective of the Zergs?

At the same time in the galaxy, inside four Stellar-level Space Carriers.

Hong Dali and company descended to Earth. The four Stellar-level Space Carriers stopped high in the air at an altitude of 30,000 meters to monitor the Zergs.

The atmosphere was tense and gloomy.

As the Captain of the Third Space Carrier, Alfredo dared not to relax even for a split second. He had a faint feeling that something was off, yet he just could not figure out what it was.

Alfredo had been staring at the holographic projection video for nearly two hours. Suddenly, his eyes grew wide open.

He had discovered something that made his whole scalp go numb.

The number of mutated zergs in the Holographic Projection video had been decreasing at an alarmingly rapid rate.

The number of mutated zergs was reducing! What did that represent?

Were they retreating? No, that was impossible. There was only one other reason for the rapid decrease in their population.

The mutated zergs had begun to kill one another! They had begun the process of breeding the King Zergs!

In a split second, Alfredo felt his scalp tingle as if all his hair had stood up. He yelled with all his might, "Contact the Lord and Young Master Dali now! The mutated zergs have begun to murder one another. King Zergs could very likely emerge soon!"

The soldiers had learned plenty about the King Zergs after the previous battles. They entered a state of mass panic once they heard that King Zergs might be appearing. Someone instantly attempted to communicate with Hong Dali and the rest on Earth, but he quickly found out that nothing was as he imagined!

Their connection with Hong Dali and the rest had been severed by the Zergs!

"Captain, I cannot contact them!" The signalman yelled at the top of his lungs. "The connection has been severed by the Zergs!"

Instantly, Alfredo felt soaked in his own cold sweat.

No wonder the Zergs were acting so suspiciously!

They first activated the Zerg Knights to force the Lord and the rest onto the surface of the Earth. After that they severed communications and started production of the King Zergs. Therefore, the Space Carriers could only watch as King Zergs emerged. They could not even initiate any attacks, as there were still at least millions of mutated Zergs monitoring the Space Carriers!
