Chapter 192 - Shooting Match

"Two unlimited bullets."

Teren said which the stand owner happily gave them the plastic guns. The shelf where the cans were placed was a bit far from the counter.

It was even skeptical of the plastic bullets can take the cans down. However, after briefly observing the other people trying out the booth too, the siblings saw that only by hitting the center of the cans do they fall. If missed by a small margin, the bullet will slip off to the side of the can because of its circular nature, reducing the force of impact.

Although this booth is not that strict and is not really for competitiveness, only for fun. There are cans that do not fall off because of their different weights. Maybe it's one of the booth's cheats to lessen the points of the players and that increases the difficulty of the challenge.

Once they fire their first bullet, the timer will start. Furthermore, there are three magazines in front of them ready each. It seemed that they will change the magazine themselves. Although it's less complicated than real guns, changing magazines will stave off a lot of time.

...

"If I win, you will break up with your girlfriend."

"You want me to break up with Iesa?"

Seres saw the great change in Teren's face when she said that. He got depressed after hearing her terms. It seemed that it was too much.

"Isn't that a bit too harsh?"

"Okay, I think so too."

Teren sighed in relief.

"But I don't know what else I want you to do."

"Then why not just make me owe you one?"

"Isn't that too vague?"

"Of course, you can't go me do something unreasonable. But if it's just a request, then I will do it."

Seres pondered for a while and found that this will come useful in the future.

"What if you don't keep your promise once I've defeated you?"

"Ah... you don't trust me that much?"

"No, actually, I don't know yet. But I will use this as an opportunity to know that."

What Seres was saying was that she's giving him a temporary trust. That trust will easily disappear if Teren were to turn his back on his promise. But if he did what he says he will do, then that temporary trust may turn into something real.

All in all, Seres didn't think she would have any loss if Teren did turn his back so there was no risk. After all, it will just come from one simple game.

...

Presently, the two of them stood at a distance from each other. Although there are many people there, the booth wasn't particularly that popular, and to top it all up, the sun was getting higher, making people want to go to places where there are shades.

The booth owner looked at the two of them and his interest wasn't piqued. There are a lot of couples who would play against each other like this. It was all that different.

Eventually, the two of them fired their first bullets.

Clang*

At the same time, two cans dropped from the shelf. However, before the booth owner could react and put the cans up, more cans began to drop.

Clangclangclang*

The sounds were akin to ringing as they were continuous. The rhythm continued on for ten more seconds. And in that time frame, almost everyone around was looking at them with dazed looks.

When about twenty seconds have passed, the two of them stopped. The battle wasn't actually a race against time, however, a race against each other.

The cans were limited and while the booth owner puts them up while counting the points, it didn't seem like he can catch up to their speed. Even the modified cans that were not supposed to fall of fell too.

Observant people noticed that two bullets will hit these certain cans. The first bullet is to shake them off balance and the second is to make them fall down.

The plastic guns have no strong recoil so what Seres and Teren just have to do is pull the trigger two times. It wasn't actually that difficult, at least for them.

Furthermore, what's more amazing is how they changed magazines. It just literally took them a blink of an eye before they begin shooting the cans again!

Everyone was left speechless. After the two put down all the cans and even stole some points from other players, the crowd around them began clapping.

"We got too much attention..."

Seres murmured in complaint.

"That was amazing, you two."

"Aren't they actually professionals?"

"I don't think I will be that fast even if I come here to practice every day."

The other people spoke to themselves.

Teren and Seres ignored them and went to ask the booth owner.

"How many points?"

Seres asked with a serious expression. They have counted it themselves but they have to get a third party to tell the unbiased results. But unfortunately, how can an ordinary person keep up with all of that?

The booth owner couldn't answer except for-

"Perfect points?"

He then continued after that question.

"You two are the best that I have seen. I mean, wow!" the booth owner was seriously impressed as he sweated. Even the other players nodded in agreement.

"Are you two professional shooters or something?"

"I got some training myself but that's not important. What's our score, separately?"

Seres coldly and maturely said.

"Ah, sorry about that, miss. I was just too impressed and sorry again but I wasn't able to count your points separately. I could just say that you two got the highest points, getting 100 points for the two of you combined!"

"Eh? Aren't there just fifty cans?"

Teren asked.

"Yes, but let's just say we doubled your points due to your outstanding performance."

Although that was good and they could get two of the biggest prizes, what they want to know is who won.

That's for later as they glanced at each other. For now, they picked their prizes.

"Can I have that big teddy bear please?"

Teren immediately asked which Seres looked at him with a surprised face. She wanted that prize but unfortunately for her, that Teren got it first. But it's not that she could get it her own. It would be too embarrassing claiming such a big doll.

"Then I'll get two of second-best prizes."

Once they got their prizes, Teren stopped and pushed the teddy bear towards Seres.

"'You want this, right?"

"...?"

Teren didn't let her rebuke or say otherwise.

"I'll just hold it for now. It may be a little bit heavy for you."

"That's not fair..."

"Hm?"

Teren saw Seres pout at him. She then pushed the two prizes that she got.

"Let's exchange instead."

One was a basketball and the other was FunPark hat.

"Okay, but I'll just take the ball. I think the hat better suits you. Try it, I'm sure it's cute on you."

Seres lowered her head. After a moment of silence, she put the hat on but still had her head cast down. Teren didn't see what her expression was but just let her be.

"If I'm going to be honest, didn't you win that match? If I counted correctly, I took down 23 cans and you, 27."

"... Yep... I won that much."

Seres replied with a low voice.
