Chapter 30: Profound Lifespirit pill

Zhan Chen threw an indifferent glance at the startled grand master. "Shall we start concocting the pill?", he asked the grand master who was still staring at the essence containers with disbelief in his eyes.

After some time the old alchemy grandmaster breathed in and calmed down himself. "Young master, may I ask you a question?", he looked at Zhan Chen with flickering eyes.

Zhan Chen nodded his head as he looked at the old grand master. "Who would have thought that even extracting essence will lead to such trouble? I wonder what will be his expression after seeing my pills?", Zhan Chen secretly shook his head. He couldn't understand the exaggerated reaction of the old alchemy grand master.

"Young master if it is possible please tell me. Is your teacher a high rank alchemy grandmaster senior or has he reached even greater hight?", the old grand master asked Zhan Chen with reverence and curiousity in his eyes.

"I don't know. But I am sure that he can concoct grade four pills", Zhan Chen replied. He knew it was better for him to maintain the guise of his alchemy teacher. So, he deliberately made a point which would mystify his nonexistent teacher further.

"Shhh!", the two attendants who were standing nearby sucked in cold air. For them, grandmaster Wang was a noble existence who could concoct grade three pills but an existence who could concoct grade four pills, they couldn't imagine how big a storm it would cause if words had to go out.

Grandmaster Wang's eyes glittered after he heard the words of Zhan Chen. For the people of Red cloud kingdom, he was a supreme existence but he knew how much he actually worth in the outside places.

"Young master, can I meet your honourable teacher? Can you arrange it? It is very important to me", grandmaster Wang looked at Zhan Chen eagerly.

Zhan Chen felt a headache coming to his mind as he saw the eager expression on the face of old alchemy grandmaster.

"Grandmaster, please calm down. My teacher moves according to his will. I have no means to contact him but he often comes to see me. I will convey your wish to him", Zhan Chen replied.

This is good. Please don't forget to convey my wish to him. Also, you don't need to call me grand master. You can address me as elder. From now on, I will help your Zhan family as much as I can", Grandmaster Wang said with a smile. He was quite satisfied with the behaviour of Zhan Chen towards him.

Zhan Chen's eyes flashed as he could somehow understand the change in attitude of grandmaster Wang. "Ok then, I will address grandmaster Wang as elder Wang from now on", Zhan Chen replied with a hint of politeness. Grandmaster Wang nodded his head in satisfaction.

"Now, can you tell me which pill we are going to concoct for young miss?", grandmaster Wang asked.

"We are going to concoct Profound lifespirit pill for her", Zhan Chen replied.

"Profound lifespirit pill? I have never heard of such a pill", grandmaster Wang muttered in confusion.

"It is natural that you have not heard about it. After all there are so many alchemy masters out there? So, who can proclaim to know everything in this world", Zhan Chen said with a smile.

"What young master said is right. Who can actually proclaim to know everything in this world?", grandmaster Wang repeated the words of Zhan Chen with a smile.

"But without prior expertise, how should we go about concocting such a pill?", grand master Wang asked with a frown.

"No need to worry. You just need to do as I say. I promise you can concoct the Profound lifespirit pill in your first attempt", Zhan Chen replied.

A hint of surprise appeared in the eyes of grandmaster Wang as he saw the confident look of Zhan Chen. He somehow believed the words of Zhan Chen and started to prepare for concocting the pill.

Grandmaster Wang brought out his simple looking spirit grade furnace and started to arrange the essence containers around him.

Then he started the fire of the tripod and placed the pill furnace on it.

"First add the essence of Spirit Bamboo shoot. The add the Blue Feather herb. Let them mix first", Zhan Chen spoke calmly.

Grandmaster Wang nodded his head and followed the words of Zhan Chen accordingly.

After sometime, Zhan Chen suddenly spoke, "Put off the fire and then add the essence of Verdant Orchid flower in it".

"Young master, putting off the fire now will harm the previous mix", grandmaster Wang immediately spoke after hearing Zhan Chen's words.

"Please do as I say. if you do not make haste the essence will be ruined", Zhan Chen spoke. Grandmaster Wang nodded his head puzzlingly but he still followed after the words of Zhan Chen.

"Let it stay as it is for six to seven minutes. Then add the Azure life grass essence in it. Put on the fire then and heat the furnace with moderate temperature", Zhan Chen spoke.

Grand master Wang felt extremely puzzled as he had never heard of such unconventional methods in his entire life. Despite his doubt, he did as Zhan Chen instructed.

He let the furnace stay without fire for six minutes. Then added the essence of Life spirit grass and close off the lid of the furnace.

He put on the fire again and started to heat the furnace with a moderate temperature.

"Lower the temperature a little bit", Zhan Chen spoke from the side. Grandmaster Wang nodded his head and brought down the temperature of the furnace a notch lower.

After ten minutes, a soothing fragrance started to permeate in the air. A slight smile appeared on the face of Zhan Chen as he took in the soothing fragrance.

"Take out the pill. It should be formed by now", Zhan Chen spoke after waiting for another five minutes.

A translucent pill with a bluish hue came to the eyes of grandmaster Wang as he opened up the lid up the furnace. An incredible soothing smell permeated in the air of the room as he took out the pill from the furnace.

"An incredible pill!", grandmaster Wang exclaimed after taking out the pill.
