Chapter 644

"No, no." Dr. Santos said as she shook her head and smiled at the young couple. "As a matter of fact I have great news." She announced.

Cedric and Adrianna looked at each other, both with a puzzled expression and a smile.

"You are having twins!" Dr. Santos happily announced.

"Wow." Cedric said in shock as he hugged his wife. "You're amazing Adri."

" I didn't expect that we would have twins." Adrianna said with a surprised expression.

"Do you have a history of twins in your family?" Dr. Santos asked Adrianna.

Adrianna nodded and gave her a sad smile.

"My mom was a twin." Adrianna confessed. "Her twin died when they were barely a year old, my mom doesn't talk about it much."

"Don't worry Adri, our babies will have the best care." Cedric said as he planted a kiss on her head. "No harm will come to them or to you." Cedric promised his wife.

"I know I'll have the best care, Cedric." Adrianna said with a laugh as she teased her husband.

"Do you want the twins to be our secret or do you want to make an announcement?" Cedric asked his wife. He knew that as public figures, they somehow needed to involve the public.

Cedric was not happy with the fact that they needed to share this kind of news with everyone else, but it was also a way for them to lessen the stalking and inconveniences in their lives.

"Will you be setting up a dinner to discuss Lucius Ting?" Adrianna asked her husband.

"I was thinking of just making it a call." Cedric said with a shrug. "I didn't want to inconvenience our friends."

"What if we told them about the twins tonight over dinner, then we can have a statement released from the Reyes Group and Island's Inc. in two days." Adrianna suggested.

"I like the idea." Cedric said as he smiled down at his wife. "Let me make some calls and arrange it."

"Can you invite my friends and all of the aunties and uncles?" Adrianna asked her husband.

"Of course." Cedric said as he looked adoringly at her. "I'll ask Dave to make the arrangements."

"Don't you think it will be awkward? With you know, Ram and Julia?" Adrianna asked with a worried expression.

"They are both adults, Adri." Cedric said, shaking his head. "They should be able to deal with their own issues in a grown up manner, not like squabbling children."

"We don't even know the whole story." Adrianna said with a frown.

"What if I talk to Ram and you can talk to Juila?" Cedric asked his wife. "That way we hear both sides and we can figure out if it will be a problem having them there at the same time."

"I don't want to have to pick between our friends." Adrianna said in a sad tone.

"Ram will understand, don't worry." Cedric said in an attempt to comfort his wife.

"But Ram will be on the losing end. He doesn't need to make a sacrifice like that." Adrianna told Cedric.

"Why don't we talk to them first then decide then?" Cedric asked Adrianna. He knew that whatever had happened between Ram and Julia was not that bad.

"Alright." Adrianna said with a nod.

"Here." Dr. Santos told the couple as she handed them a print out and a CD. "It's a copy of the ultrasound, I thought you could share it with your family and friends. You can even include it in your press statement."

"Thanks doc." Cedric told Dr. Santos with a smile as he took the CD and the print out of the ultrasound.

"Congratulations again." Dr. Santos said as Cedric helped Adrianna off the bed.

The couple bid their goodbyes to the doctor and scheduled their next appointment. Cedric wanted Adrianna to have a check up as often as possible, he wanted to make sure that their children and Adrianna were in the best condition.

"Cedric, don't you think this is too much." Adrianna said with a frown as they walked down the hall.

"No, I just want to make sure you and the babies are fine. A check up every week is not too much." Cedric insisted.

"Fine." Adrianna said, surrendering to what her husband wanted. She knew that he was only concerned with her well being.

"Great." Cedric said with a smile.

As the couple walked out of Saints Hospital, there were already several members of the press waiting outside for them.

The news of Adrianna's second pregnancy had been a hit both on the traditional news channels as well as on social media, everyone wanted a piece of the action.

Cedric stopped before stepping out, he wanted to make a statement first before letting Adrianna face the crowd.

"Friends from the press." Cedric said as the people waiting outside for them quieted down. "I hope you all understand that this place is still a hospital, and I would like everyone to respect that. Please give space for the doctors, patients, and staff to pass."

The members of the press quickly moved a little, widening the walkway and giving space for those going to Saints Hospital to pass.

Cedric smiled at the new found professionalism of the reporters, he was glad they were changing their once chaotic ways.

"Now, please understand that my wife is three months pregnant, and I would really like to keep her in a stress free environment, so if you could avoid shouting and asking questions we would appreciate it. I will give you answers and statements myself, so don't worry." At his words the members of the media nodded, agreeing to respect their space.

"My wife and child are healthy, and that's all the news we have to share. We can't tell the gender yet, so for those that wanted to ask that, well there's your answer." Cedric informed them.

"My wife and I will head home now so she can rest, I hope you can all adhere to our agreement." Cedric said with a smile as he gestured for Adrianna and some of the guards to step out.

To Cedric's surprise the crowd was not rowdy, they simply snapped photos and let the couple leave in peace.
