Chapter 586

Lucius slammed his hands on the table angrily. Camilla and Benedict hadn't been aware that Aiden had not told the young man how his father had died.

"Was he sick, or was it, you know." Lucius said as he stood up and paced back and forth on the balcony.

"Suicude?" Benedict asked.

Lucius simply nodded, he was at a loss for words.

"I took his own life, yes." Benedict said with a nod.

"Those fucking assholes!" Lucius screamed in anger. "I will get them one day, and I will make them pay."

"So what did you need from my brother?" Camilla confidently asked as she looked the man in the eyes.

"Fuck." Lucius cursed again before finally calming himself down and taking a seat.

Camilla noted how he had a temper and how it could cloud his judgement, she was sure that this would come in handy in the future. She just hoped that when it did, no one would be at risk.

"I came to tell Aiden that Arch Group is being recognized at the Gizmo awards in a few days." Lucius explained. "I was hoping that as one ofthe biggest investors in the company he could attend with me."

"My brother and I cannot do that." Camilla said, shaking her head. "Cedric and I may be at odds now, but I will not risk our name for people to think that I would transfer to a competitor."

"I understand." Lucius said with a nod. "I didn't expect Aiden to agree either, he always struck me as a behind the scenes kind of person. I was hoping that if he went with me he could introduce me to other people in the industry and other investors."

"Other investors?" Benedict asked. "Is Arch Group tight on funds?"

"No, nothing like that." Lucius said, shaking his head. "We are expanding and following Aiden's plan, buying all the small tech companies and making them into one that could pose a threat to Mor Co."

"Aiden planned to use Arch Group to hurt Cedric." Camilla suddenly said.

"Yes, exactly." Lucius said with a nod. "He told me how he had a gut feeling that Cedric Reyes would be attached to that company, it was, after all, where he started. So striking him at his core would definitely shake him up, distract him."

"What else does Arch Group dabble in?" Benedict asked.

"Nothing too fancy." Lucius said with a shrug. "Aside from Tech we also have some mining sites. Aiden also convinced me to expand into the medical field, so I could pose a bigger threat to my relatives."

"That's probably the plot Aiden wanted you to follow." Camilla said, scratching her chin.

"Aiden would have also wanted him to continue attacking the Reyes Group." Benedict said as he looked at his sister in the eyes. "Without the Reyes Group backing them, everyone else would be an easy target."

"What is so special about the Reyes Group?" Lucius asked. "It seems to me that compared to everyone else they are quite weak."

Camilla grinned at Lucius, almost laughing at his comment. It seemed the man was not as smart as Cedric expected.

"Did our brother not explain anything to you?" Benedict asked with a raised eyebrow.

Lucius gave him a confused look and shook his head.

"Money is king in our country." Benedict said with a sly smile as he took a sip of his wine. "Without money you won't go far."

"Isn't it the same everywhere?" Lucius asked with a confused look.

Camilla shook her head and laughed.

"If you think it's bad elsewhere, it is worse here." Camilla added.

"Even if the Sebastians lost their positions in government you couldn't take down the Reyeses, they would simply have whoever won in their pockets." Benedict said with a shrug. "Even the mysterious King of the Underworld is nothing without the support of the Reyes Family."

"Power can truly be bought in this country." Camilla said with a shrug.

"It still doesn't make sense." Lucius said, shaking his head. "How can we take down the Reyes Group if they have the government backing them?"

"There are many ways to take down people like them, but the most sure way is by beating them." Benedict explained.

"He who holds the gold is King in this country." Camilla said. "No matter how many times you push the other families down, as long as they have the Reyeses on their side they will not fall."

"The Reyes Group is too large to take down." Lucius Ting said, shaking his head. Clearly he was already doubting his course of action.

"Mor Co. has always held a special place with Cedric." Camilla suddenly said. "He isn't at the best emotional state at the moment. Another blow, another threat and he may not be able to take it."

"I need funds." Lucius Ting suddenly said, making Benedict and Camilla smirk, they knew that something like this would come up.

"Why?" Camilla asked.

"You are a business woman, Miss Camilla. I need to expand if I were to even affect him. At this point, I doubt I have even caught his attention." Lucius Ting said as he looked Camilla in the eyes.

"You'll get his attention even if you don't have the funds." Camilla said with a shrug. "The Gizmo awards, you'll get your chance to speak with him then."

"Cedric Reyes never attends events like that." Lucius Ting said, shaking his head and leaning back on his seat in frustration.

"He will be forced to this time." Camilla said with a shrug. "Normally he would send me, but since we aren't on good terms he will have to attend himself, especially since the public has been clamoring for a public appearance for him."

Lucius nodded, listening to Camilla's advice.

"I was truly planning on attending." Lucius said with a nod. "Aside from the award and the connections I could gain, the after party will also be a charity event with a beneficiary close to my heart."

"I suggest you use that opportunity to show how much of a threat you are to him." Benedict said with a nod. "Don't let him steal the show. Be the fresh and young face that the public is looking for."

"Thank you." Lucius said with a smile on his face. "Aiden might be gone, but you two are still here for me."

"We have a common goal and a common enemy." Benedict said with a nod.
