Chapter 581

"He goes by the name Lucius Ting." Camilla said as she pointed at the screen in front of her.

It showed a young man, roughly the same age as Cedric and the others. He had the same dark hair and pale skin as Miguel and Eric. His eyes were a bit rounder, but Cedric couldn't deny that there were some similarities he could pick out.

"What do we know about him?" Cedric asked as he leaned forward in his seat.

"Lucius Ting, possibly 29 to 31 years old." Camilla began as she read through his file in her hand. "He was adopted from a convent in Naples, Italy by British - Chinese parents, Amalia and Bernard Ting."

Cedric nodded as he picked up on where he was adopted.

"Honestly his life was good, it was pretty normal for someone with well off parents." Camilla said with a shrug. "His adoptive parents loved him and he loved them. He went on to study at a University in America and later on established his Tech company, the Arch group."

"So what was our red flag that pointed towards him as the man Aiden thought to be Uncle Miguel's child?" Cedric asked.

"Aside from the fact that Aiden had files on him, Aiden also invested heavily on his company." Benedict said with a nod, taking over the presentation from his sister.

Benedict showed how much Aiden had invested in Lucius' company, and the number shocked Cedric.

"Do we know why Aiden invested in him?" Cedric asked as he looked at the amount on the screen.

"We can only guess." Benedict said with a shrug. "But knowing my brother, the one thing that fueled all his actions was revenge."

"But the Chans had nothing to do with your parent's deaths." Cedric said as he scratched his chin, pondering as to why Aiden would involve them.

"To Aiden, they were just collateral damage." Benedict said with a shrug. "You saw how he was ready to put me and Camilla in danger that day. As long as at the end of the day he gets his revenge, it doesn't matter how many people get hurt in the process."

Cedric simply nodded, acknowledging Benedict's words.

"I feel like this is too weak an argument." Katerina said as she sat up on the couch. "If it's just based on investments, then I'm sure there are other suspects. What makes this Lucius guy so special?"

"Well, we've traced the nurse to Naples as well." Benedict said with a sly grin.

"You could have started with that." Katerina said, rolling her eyes. "Go on."

"At the time of Uncle Miguel's death, the nurse was living in Naples, Italy, and based on our investigation he might still be there." Benedict explained.

"He?" Ray asked in surprise.

"Yes, the nurse was a he." Camilla said with a laugh. "That's why it took so long to find this nurse. Everyone had been under the impression that he was a she."

"Okay, so this nurse was in Naples, but what if he sent Uncle Miguel's son to another orphanage for adoption, or maybe he gave him to a family in the city?" Ian asked the siblings.

"We checked the surrounding region as best we could, there were no other adoptions of an asian looking child in the area." Camilla explained. "And before you ask, yes, we even expanded our search to nearby countries. He is the only one that matches Uncle Miguel's son."

"Okay, we can keep assuming that he is Uncle Miguel's son, but nothing is sure until we have a DNA test saying he is from the Chan family." Cedric said as he leaned back against his seat. "Dave will continue his investigation while we deal with this."

"How do you want us to go about this?" Camilla asked as she waited for Cedric's instructions.

"I'm assuming you have information on his company's movements?" Cedric asked Camilla, who nodded in reply.

She quickly changed the presentation that was flashed on the screen.

"Wow, where can I find someone as efficient as Camilla?" Ray said as he was shocked by how prepared Camilla had been.

"You gotta save a kid first." Camilla teased as she handed the pointer to Benedict.

"Hey, my dad was involved in rescuing you!" Ray said as he suddenly realized that the Reyes actually had nothing to do with the death of the Ortiz siblings' parents.

Camilla simply laughed at him and smiled.

"My brother will present this to you Cedric." Camilla said with a nod. "We've been working on this together. He's been keeping a close eye on them."

"Okay, go on Benedict." Cedric said as he scrolled through the information that Camilla had sent to his email.

"I'll skip through all the small details since it seems you've read through them." Benedict said as the slides behind him changed at a rapid pace.

"Yeah, I've seen them." Cedric said with a nod. "So what do you think?" Cedric said as he placed his laptop aside to listen to Benedict and Camilla's conclusion.

"We think they are trying to snap up all of the smaller companies and combine their assets and employees into one company that could truly challenge Mor Co." Benedict said quite confidently.

"Where is he getting the funding?" Cedric asked, he had not seen it in the document that Camilla had sent over.

"That one, we aren't so sure of." Benedict said with a shrug. "He could be using the money he has made with Arch Group, or still using money that my brother had given him."

"Does he know Aiden is dead?" Ray said, speaking up.

"No, I don't think so." Benedict said, shaking his head. "I think he has sent people to check out our old house next to Katerina's."

"So those were the suspicious people my men were reporting." Katerina said.

"You noticed them?" Benedict asked, with a hint of shock in his expression.

"Yeah." Katerina said with a nod. "The place has been extremely deserted since Camilla's kidnapping. It's odd to see cars driving by. We are in an area of the community with less people."

"Engage with them." Cedric instructed.

"What?" Katerina asked as she looked at Cedric.

"I think Cedric is right." Ray said with a nod. "Engage, but make them feel like they had to search you out."

"And what do I say when I finally speak to Lucius?" Benedict asked, nervous about what Cedric and Ray would answer.

Cedric grinned and looked at Ray, it seemed that they had the same idea in mind.

"The truth, Aiden is dead." Cedric said with a nod as he observed Benedict's reaction. "I want you to get onto his good side." Cedric explained with a sly smile.
