As Cedric joined his wife and son in the lounge Adrianna ran into his arms and hugged him tight. She had watched the whole press conference from a TV inside the lounge, bodyguards lined all the possible entrances in order to protect her and Emilio, she was no longer an ordinary person.

"Sir, she had a run in with Miss Lorisa." Mae informed Cedric as he gave her a questioning look.

"Did you deal with the woman?" Cedric asked Mae. He expected things like this to happen in the future, he knew Adrianna could defend herself from people like Lorisa. But since Adrianna was still adjusting to her new title as the matriarch of the Reyes Family, he expected his assistants to help at least a little bit.

"Sir there was no need." Mae said with a knowing smile. "The madam dealt with that woman on her own."

"Really now?" Cedric said as he raised his wife's face to look at him. "I think I like this feisty side of yours."

Cedric wrapped his arm around his wife's waist and kissed her passionately. He found it incredibly hot of her to fight back.

"Get a room guys." Nicole said with a laugh as she entered.

"Auntie!" Emilio said as he ran up to Nicole and jumped into her arms.

"Hello little one." Nicole said as she hugged him tight.

"Are you ready to go?" Cedric asked Nicole as he ignored her previous comment.

Nicole nodded and gave a weary smile. "My equipment is already at the garage in the Reyes Mansion."

"Do you think Alexi has already begun the interrogation?" Adrianna asked her husband.

"I doubt." Cedric said, shaking his head. "I know he wants it to be swift so he is waiting for Nicole to administer the serum. Right now, he is playing games, tormenting Jen. I doubt her torture will end tonight."

Cedric understood how angry Alexi was at Jen, he would be too if had been used and played like a fool by someone. He pitied Alexi, because he had wasted so many years of his life chasing after Jen.

As Cedric and the rest of his group walked up to the main entrance of the hospital, Cedric sensed his wife's hesitation.

"What's wrong?" Cedric asked Adrianna as he caressed her hand.

"I'm afraid Yoyo will get scared." Adrianna confessed. "Plus this is the first time we are stepping out into the public as members of the Reyes family. I'm just worried I guess."

"I will be with you the whole way." Cedric promised as he looked into his wife's eyes. "If it helps, I will carry Emilio and hide him from the eyes of the cameras."

"Alright." Adrianna said as Cedric sensed her worry easing by a little bit.

"Adrianna, I will always do everything to protect our son." Cedric said as he kissed her on the lips, making Adrianna smile.

Cedric picked Emilio up and carried him with one arm, while with his free hand he held Adrianna's hand, interlocking their fingers.

Cedric nodded at his assistants and walked out of the main entrance with his wife and son.

As the lobby doors swung open, Cedric and Adrianna were greeted by the flashes of cameras coming from different directions.

Cedric kept his indifferent expression that scared most people, while Adrianna smiled pleasantly at the reporters.

Their bodyguards kept the reporters far enough as not to block their way. Their car, Cedric's signature Rolls Royce, was already waiting for them in the driveway.

What surprised Cedric was that behind his car was Nicole's pink sports car.

"I thought you would be riding with us?" Cedric asked Nicole as he handed his son over to his wife inside the car.

"I guessed that you guys needed some alone time." Nicole said with a shrug. "Mae, ride with me." Nicole signaled to Cedric's assistant.

Nicole obliged and followed Nicole into the flashy car.

Cedric smiled at his friend's consideration. He did want some private time with his wife and son, especially after today's events.

"Sir, do you need anything?" Dave asked his boss as he held the door open for Cedric.

"No, it's fine." Cedric said with a smile as he got into the car.

Dave closed the door behind his boss and got into the front seat.

Inside the car Adrianna leaned on her husband's shoulder and rested her head.

"Did your parents make it safely to the hospital?" Cedric asked, he knew that his in laws were due to arrive during the press conference.

"Yup, they are with your parents in the VIP ward." Adrianna told her husband with a nod. "I hope my parents can keep yours company."

"My parents would be more than happy to have yours keep them company." Cedric said with a smile. "Adri, we need to talk about how you are feeling. What you and Emilio went through was no laughing matter." Cedric told his wife in a more serious tone.

Adrianna sighed and frowned, Cedric knew that if possible his wife would have avoided the conversation, but Cedric knew that doing that was not healthy.

"I was so sacred Cedric." Adrianna finally said in a shaky voice. "I thought we were all going to die."

"Shhh, you can tell me. I'm here for you." Cedric said as he wrapped an arm around her shoulder.

"Everything happened so fast. One moment mom was telling us about her favorite jewelry shop in Pris Mall and the next moment we saw men rushing toward Yoyo." Adrianna was shaking as she recalled the events at the mall. "Luckily Mia was fast enough and she - she -"

Adrianna couldn't continue as she sobbed in her husband's arms.

"If it's too much Adri -" Cedric tried to tell her that she could wait to tell him, he wanted her to talk but not to force herself.

"No, I can do this." Adrianna said, shaking her head. "Mia jumped at the men that were running towards Yoyo, then from another side of the mall I heard shots, and when I turned, mom had fallen to the ground, she was bleeding. She stood in front of Ayanna and Yoyo, she had taken the bullets meant for them."
