Chapter 307

Name:Never Judge Author:wounded_warrior
Before Cedric could even get off the car to run to the boy his driver sped up leave the scene.

"Go back!" Cedric ordered.

"Sir, for your safety we can't." His driver answered.

"Drop me off at the corner and take your mistress home." Cedric said instead.

At first he could see his driver hesitating, but he was the boss after all so his driver had no choice but to follow what he had said.

"Cedric, he's my cousin." Adrinna begged.

"You're recognizable. Go home." Cedric was already trying to call someone as he tried to convince his wife to stay in the car.

"Did you stay? How is Jam?" Cedric asked Leon who was at the other end of the line.

"He's bleeding but alive." Leon reported.

"Take him to a hospital damnit! Save his life." Cedric ordered as he dropped the call.

"Change of plans, drive me to Saints." Cedric ordered as he dialed Miguel's number.

"Jam was shot, I'm having him taken to Saints now." Cedric said before Miguel could even say hi.

"What? Where? How?" Miguel asked.

"No time to explain now, just get your ass to Saints." Cedric said furiously.

"Jam's family, we need to tell them." Adrianna told Cedric in a panicked tone.

"Tell Amanda first then your mom. Let your mom inform the Lobo family." Cedric told his wife in a gentle tone. He wanted her to calm down despite his own distress.

Cedric watched as one of his security vehicles sped past them, it was probably the one that carried Jam and Leon. His driver knowingly let the vehicle pass them as they drove at a fast yet acceptable speed.

When the luxury car finally arrived at Saint Cedric entered through the backdoor. He made his way through the hospital until he found Miguel's assistant who recognized him.

"Doctor Miguel is in an operation." The assistant said to Cedric.

"Good." Cedric said as he made his way to the operating theater Miguel usually used.

He waited outside as the sign lit bright red. As he sat in the waiting area, he was vaguely aware of the bodyguards standing at every corner, and Leon standing right behind him.

"Did you catch the man?" Cedric finally asked Leon."

"Yes sir." Leon replied, Cedric noticed there was something off with his tone.

"What is it?" Cedric demanded.

"As soon as we caught him sir, he bit down hard and died. It seemed he had some sort of poison in his mouth. Whoever sent him knew there was a chance he would be caught." Leon reported, regret clearly in his voice.

"Do we know anything about the man yet?" Cedric asked.

"We are looking into it sir. What we know so far is that his name was Anderson, he worked as a busboy in a local fast food chain. He had a wife that left him recently. We are still trying to learn more." Leon said.

Suddenly the doors burst open and the Lobo family, including Amanda who was still with Tony, charged right in.

"What did you do to my son?" Ivan Lobo said as he attempted to punch Cedric in the face. He was immediately stopped by Leon who caught the punch in his hand and subdued Ivan Lobo.

"Who the hell are you? Why are you protecting this imbecile!" Ivan Lobo shouted as he struggled to get out of Leon's grip. "One moment I was with my son, and then the next he goes with this useless man and gets shot." Ivan Lobo shouted.

Cedric noticed the other bodyguards inching closer to them, clearly wary of the other members of the Lobo family.

Before Cedric could explain Gracia and Charles Hernandez arrived.

"Adrianna?" Cedric asked his in-laws.

"With your son, your father also heightened the security around the compound." Charles told his son-in-law.

Suddenly the light above the door went dark, the operation was done. Miguel walked out after a few minutes as an unconscious Jam was rolled out behind him.

"How is he?" Cedric asked.

"I got the bullet out, but the damage was too severe. I don't think he'll make the night." Miguel said, shaking his head.

"You! You! Aren't you that miracle doctor! Save my son! You can save my son!" Patricia Lobo cried.

"Mom, mom, there is only so much Miguel can do." Amanda said as tears streamed from her eyes. She too was sad, but there were limits to what a mere man could do.

"No! He's never lost a patient! He can save my son! Save my son!" Particia Lobo cried again, her screams cutting through Cedric's heart.

Cedric knew Patricia Lobo's words hurt Miguel even more, the man was called the Miracle Doctor due to his near impossible surgeries and out of the box thinking that often saved lives, however, there were some lives he truly couldn't save.

"Mrs. Lobo, we have done everything we could." Miguel managed to say as his voice cracked. "The fact that he is still breathing is a miracle on it's own."

"You have to save him doctor, please I'm begging you." Patricia Lobo said as she fell to her knees.

"Madam, there is nothing else I can do." Miguel said with a frown. He then looked to Cedric and spoke. "I suggest the family stay the night. I don't know how long the boy will last."

"I'll have security heightened around the hotel and the hospital." Cedric said with a nod.

"I liked your son Mrs. Lobo. He was nice and eager and smart. He was a nice boy. Whoever did this to him will pay, my bro won't let him go." Miguel said in an attempt to comfort the grieving mother.

"What can that poor man do? He is worthless!" Ivan Lobo accused. He was still being held back by Leon who was worried that he would try to attack Cedric again.

"Ivan, Patricia, Mom, Dad, there is something you need to know." Gracia said in a sad voice. "Can I tell them?" Gracia asked her son-in-law.

Cedric nodded. This family was going through so much now that they deserved to know that their son was getting the best treatment and that he had spent his last night happy, with his greatest wish fulfilled.
