Chapter 228 - Uncle Got Jealous

Lu put her hand up and answered. “Yes, Sister Shangguan. Take some diarrhea pills and it would work. The scent only stays for two days. But I think that being fragrant is great, why don’t you like it?”

She thought for a while and her eyes widened. “Oh, I see! Master Jing likes your natural scent. He wants that same scent back to make babies with you!”

Oh no, Lu knew too much. She would be killed.

Sure enough, when they came to the next crossing, Jing Yichen said, “You three, get off the car now and go back to the company yourselves.”

Tiger naturally obeyed Jing Yichen’s order. Lu Qing didn’t protest either. But Lu didn’t want to leave Shangguan Ning and had to be dragged down by Tiger.

With only Jing Yichen and Shangguan Ning in the car, he felt the world quieten down.

Shangguan Ning felt a bit guilty. “Just take them to the company. They will need to get a taxi if you abandon them here.”

Jing Yichen smiled and said, “You think that they would be abandoned? Tiger has a group of people around and someone will come and pick them up within the next three minutes. Don’t worry about them, think about your husband instead.”

Shangguan Ning threw a look at him and asked in confusion, “What is wrong with you?”

“We went to the hospital yesterday. Have you forgotten everything already?”

Shangguan Ning’s face got increasingly hot. Seeing Jing Yichen driving straight to Family Mu’s Hospital, she couldn’t help but ask. “You can go alone, I won’t follow you.”

“That’s not reasonable. I am not the only one who wants a baby. As a wife, you must keep me company. Otherwise I would get very scared.”

Shangguan Ning felt helpless. When did Jing Yichen start to act like a pitiful man? Scared? This was ridiculous!

Shangguan Ning still followed him to the hospital. Mu Qing had already arranged the medicine for them.

But he frowned and sniffed the air the moment they came in. Surprised, he said. “Who made you drink that? ‘The Tracking Scent’?”

Jing Yichen said calmly, “Someone who is not supposed to live long enough.”

Mu Qing shook his head and stopped asking any more questions. Then he excused himself and walked out. A moment later, he came back in with two red oral liquids. “Here! One for each of you. You will be fine after drinking it.”

Jing Yichen took the liquid, picked up the drugs which Mu Qing had arranged for him and left with Shangguan Ning.

Jing Yichen started to drive towards home. Shangguan Ning observed the two red oral liquids and sighed. “Doctor Mu is so talented. He can do anything. I have never seen any disease he can’t cure.”

Jing Yichen burst out laughing and said, “There are many diseases he can’t cure. These are just small tricks. He started to learn medicine when he could talk and now he is a surgeon. If he can’t even do this, then the Old Mu would disinherit him.”

Shangguan Ning had never seen the legendary Old Mu before. But she knew that her life had not been saved by Mu Qing, but by his grandpa, so she was very thankful to Old Mu. Hearing Jing Yichen talking in such a fun way, she laughed.

“Please take me to meet Old Mu when you have time. He saved me once, and I need to thank him in person.”

Jing Yichen got displeased when he thought of Mu Wensheng. He was afraid that he would say something bad when he meets Shangguan Ning and his wonderful image would be ruined in Shangguan Ning’s heart. Therefore, he decided to never take Shangguan Ning to that old man who scolded everyone.

When they had almost reached Landscape Compound, Shangguan Ning received a call from Uncle Huang Lihan.

“Ning, why have you stopped calling Uncle? Has anything happened?”

Shangguan Ning tended to call Uncle every weekend. But after she was attacked, she hadn’t contacted Huang Lihan for almost half a month. She didn’t want him to know about her being injured.

Hearing Huang Lihan’s words, Shangguan Ning hesitated a bit.Read more chapter on novelhall.com

“Ah, Uncle, I have been too busy to call you. I am very well, don’t worry!”

“Aha? So you are so strong after you married someone that you dare to lie to Uncle? You didn’t tell me about you getting injured. Are you trying to make me angry? Come and let me see you myself. You better be fine, otherwise Jing Yichen would definitely have to answer for it.”

Huang Lihan didn’t sound pleased. Apparently, he had known about Shangguan Ning getting injured so he was very angry that she didn’t tell him about it. But he didn’t know that Jing Yichen had risked his life for her.

Shangguan Ning didn’t want Uncle to misunderstand Jing Yichen. So she said defensively, “Uncle, I am not lying to you. I just didn’t want you to get worried. I am totally fine, my wounds have healed. I will come to visit you now. But you must promise me not to punish him. He was also injured, and that too because of me.”

Huang Lihan got quite unhappy. How would he ever punish that man when he couldn’t see him. But his niece had readily offered explanations on behalf of Jing Yichen.

Grown girls couldn’t be kept. He loved and cared about her so much, but now her heart was all for Jing Yichen.

He looked at the man who was fiddling with the chess set and said unhappily with a light “tut”–”Ha, so this is the daughter I brought up for you.”

Shangguan Ning and Jing Yichen reached Huang Lihan’s place soon enough. The moment they entered the villa, they got surprised.

“Dad, what are you doing here?” Shangguan Ning saw the tall middle aged man next to Huang Lihan. She sounded surprised and happy.

Jing Yichen was also surprised to see Jing Zhongxiu. But he always knew that father and Huang Lihan had a good friendship so it wasn’t a weird thing to see him here. He called him “dad” softy and then turned to Huang Lihan and said, “Uncle.”

Seeing his son and daughter-in-law so close to him, Jing Zhongxiu was quite happy. A smile hovered over his face and he nodded to them.

Huang Lihan got quite jealous hearing how Shangguan Ning addressed Jing Zhongxiu.

Why did the child he was so devoted to, address someone else as “Father” whilst he was just an uncle?

Displeased, he said coldly, “Aha, you don’t want your Uncle when you have a father. I should have sent you to Family Jing during your childhood. I could have saved myself much trouble. All my devotion to you has become futile.”

Shangguan Ning chuckled seeing her uncle getting jealous. She went up to him and held Huang Lihan’s arm. She said sweetly, “Nonsense. I came here to visit you without knowing about dad’s presence. I missed you very much, but why are you so fierce towards me? I might get too scared to stay here.”
