253 Conceding Defeat

With a crash, Oswald threw his keyboard down on the table.

Everyone was shocked and looked in his direction.

Oswald was staring at Qiao Yue. “Qiao Yue, you are ruthless.”

“You’re more ruthless, Mr. Oswald.” Qiao Yue looked at him, her face cold as ever.

Oswald looked at Qiao Yue with a sneer. He had been showing everyone his gentlemanly and rational side, but now he was yelling at Qiao Yue like a madman. Even the seasoned Chang Yuan was so shocked that he stammered.

“Oswald, please calm down. This is just a competition…”

“What kind of competition is this? Is it still fair to have participants who are so much better than the average student here?” Oswald pointed at Qiao Yue. “Look at this participant. Do you know who he is? He’s an internationally renowned hacker.”

“What about you, Your Royal Highness? Or D-Country’s top hacker, Oswald?” Qiao Yue reached out and grabbed Oswald’s wrist.

Students in the computer lab were all stunned. They couldn’t believe what they were hearing.

Did these two just imply that they were competing with two top-notch hackers?

Forget about this guy named Oswald. He didn’t look to be an ordinary person to begin with. What about Qiao Yue? Wasn’t Qiao Yue always at the bottom of the class? Had he been hiding his true capabilities?

Qiao Yu looked at Qiao Yue suspiciously. He was perplexed at the number of mysteries surrounding Qiao Yue.

How could a country boy know so much about cars, guns, and hacking? It was not normal for a boy from the countryside.

His younger brother’s identity was even more mysterious than he had imagined.

“Alright, Oswald. You’ll be punished for antagonizing a student from Harvey Academy like this.” The person who spoke with Oswald on the rooftop walked over.

She also had a beautiful mixed race face, and a nametag on her robe.

“Vanessa.”

This girl Vanessa was the leader among the student representatives from St. Faustina’s. She said with authority, “I’m really sorry, Teacher Chang. Oswald has been a little willful. Sorry to have caused you trouble.”

Chang Yuan shook his head, thinking that the two students were just talking nonsense.

He asked everyone to leave the computer lab. Oswald was still accusing Qiao Yue like a madman even as she walked out.

Qiao Yue thought that Oswald wasn’t as outstanding as she had assumed, but he was quite mad.

Qiao Yu patted Qiao Yue on the shoulder, as if he had something to say to her.

Qiao Yue looked at the concerned expression on Qiao Yu’s face and was glad that Qiao Yu didn’t confront her about her identity.

“Are you okay?”

Qiao Yue’s face was slightly pale. He looked even weaker than when he first walked into the computer lab, like he had experienced a fierce battle.

Oswald was very good, and it took a lot of effort for Qiao Yue to deal with the troubles he had created.

“I’m fine,” Qiao Yue said before she shook her head. “I would like to be alone for a while. Is it okay?”

Qiao Yu nodded and watched Qiao Yue walk towards the school’s back garden.

Qiao Yue looked very thin from behind, as if he was carrying a lot of secrets. This made Qiao Yu sad; his heart ached for Qiao Yue. They had experienced some tough times together, but Qiao Yue was more burdened than he had imagined.

In the computer lab, Chang Yuan started to look up Oswald on his laptop. As Oswald was very famous, information about him popped up quickly.

Chang Yuan’s jaw almost dropped from the shock. Qiao Yue was right. Oswald’s background could only be described as terrifying. He was also a top-notch hacker.

Chang Yuan then accessed the computer lab’s activity log and looked at Qiao Yue and Oswald’s activities.

There was nothing suspicious about Qiao Yue’s activities. He just solved the problems and submitted his answers calmly. He even paused to think sometimes. He was performing at the level of an ordinary student.

On the other hand, Oswald seemed to be using a great deal of computing power to solve a problem.

Oswald had even made things more difficult for himself.

Chang Yuan looked at their activities and felt that something was off.

Qiao Yue was performing at the level of a university student. But if that was the case, why was Oswald targeting him, and made things more difficult for himself?

Chang Yuan could not make sense of it.
