Chapter 13

The noisy hall suddenly quiets down. The only remaining sound that prevailed was the provocative sound of creatures against Halstead Castle.

It is a natural reaction.

They still can’t believe the ants that popped up outside would come here.

It is possible that it’s related to magic.

And everyone knows, their 12-year-old Mistress is not a magician.

In order to convince them, she had to explain it.

“I don’t know if you remember—-.”

Leticia uttered something with caution.

“When people in this castle first discovered me. At that time, my carriage was attacked by an impound group. All the adults who came with me ran away. But I got out of there and ruined it all. Aren’t you all curious how I did that? Didn’t you think it was strange?”

“That’s—.”

Everyone’s complexion had changed.

It was miraculous enough that a child escaped from the demons, but they all wondered how it was possible?

They pondered that question in their mind.

Whatever happened, she is right and she needed to point it out and explain it more clearly.

They all thought it didn’t make sense.

The soldiers had their mouth agape and uttered something one after another.

“I was at the scene, and thought that you were out of your mind at that time.”

“That’s right. It was a miracle on its own.”

“How fortunate are you? I just thought that you have some kind of divine protection.”

Leticia shook her head.

“There’s no such thing, I’ll just show how I remained unharmed. I got a strange idea in my head, I used it as a way to survive, and then I ran away.”

I showed everyone the butane gas tank I had in my hand.

“This is the same thing that I used last time. At first glance, it looks similar to other metal stuff, but if you look closely, there’s something special inside. If you throw this into the fire, it will explode.”

The soldier, who was there at the scene, was amused.

“That thing explodes…?”

“That’s right. I triggered it to explode. The cart exploded and half of the monsters died. Thanks to that, I was able to escape.”

There was absolute silence.

They were all speechless and astonished. They looked at Leticia’s face, then to the metal thing covered with dust.

The only sound that prevailed was the cries of the evil creatures outside.

Bastian trudged along and picked up that thing with one hand and said.

“Surely this little thing is a little different.”

Casaro and Alexa also said something.

“Now that I have examined it. That is a strange material.”

“It’s a rare sight. It looks like a time-stopping thing.”

Everyone agreed with the three old grandmothers. They stared at the butane gas can with a wrinkle in everyone’s forehead.

If they throw that metal can into the fire, it will explode.

It was beyond belief.

But Leticia’s words were right, she answered their questions clearly.

Otherwise, there is no way for a little girl to escape alone by just beating up all those things alone. The soldier who was there at that time confirmed to have heard an explosion.

Above all, Leticia’s face was unfazed while explaining it clearly. That was proof enough. The shocking story was actually true.

Alexa looked at the soldiers.

“Is there anything else like this? Have you ever since this anywhere in the castle?”

“We will look for it!”

All the soldiers rushed to the boxes of “imp” trophies that they had ignored.

They rushed and searched for some more.

And meticulously searched like a mouse and found six butane gas in total.

“Hey! Don’t throw it!”

“Get the lamp away from it! It will reach it!”

Everyone handled the butane gas can with care, scared to even touch it.

Only Casaro rummaged fearlessly.

“Madame! We only need to throw this thing into the fire?”

“Yes, just throw it.” Leticia replied.

“I threw it from afar at that time too. Luckily I hit it perfectly. Nearby, there is a high tower. If you go up there and threw it away—no it would be more accurate if you tied it to something like an arrow and threw it to them!”

That’s when they looked around.

Even with a short knowledge, the archers should be placed in respective positions.

“Unfortunately, there are no soldiers who can use bows.”

“Oh! You don’t have to worry about it at all.”

Bastian answered in good grace.

“There are the best archers in Halstead right next to you.”

“By my side?”

Leticia looked around with a puzzled look.

There were only maids by her side. The kind maids who took care of themselves day and night and taught her how to tie knots.

“You mean—?”

“Yes, that’s right.”

The maids winked and as if they were waiting for action, they slightly lifted their skirts.

Everyone was wearing long pants, and inside the hem of their skirt was an arrow and a dagger.

“It’s flattery that you find me the best, but I only know how to use it because I’ve learned it so well. Being an archer in the castle is nothing. I’d be very happy to serve you.”

Leticia was speechless for a moment.

The next moment she got excited.

She’s so cool!

Everyone in Halstead was strong.

However, she didn’t know that even the maids learned martial arts. Have they been able to protect the castle so far among the demons?

“Then you can do it!” she exclaimed.

Six maids volunteered to be the most accurate and fierce.

They tied the arrow on the bricks and the buckets of butane gas were tied to the arrows.

The bow and arrows used by the maids were nothing but extraordinary.

It was like a harpoon, the powerful monsters would be dead in just one hit.

They tied the butane gasses tightly and prepared to shoot.

The next moment, Bastian shouted as hard as she could.

“Stop! Mademoiselle has something to say!”

The roaring sound quieted the Giant ants.

But it only lasted for a moment. They began to scream and roared several times louder.

“Bring out the bride!”

Leticia shouted with all her might.

“I’m going out now!”

The voice of the young Lord’s wife made the giant ant monsters excited, while water trickled down their mouths.

‘Disgusting.’

Leticia closed her lips tightly.

She went out of the evacuation room along with the six maids. Passing through the flames of the windows, she climbed up to the castle’s command tower through the center stage.

She could see the view from the outside the castle at a glance.

At that very moment, the nest had been completed. It was positioned right in front of the Halstead Castle, just like the archers had said.

The queen ant sat there shamelessly.

The army of ants was already in a frenzy as if they had occupied Halstead Castle. Some even shouted loudly.

“Halstead’s reputation is in vain.”

“The wife of the Young Lord just came to bow like a dog!”

“We will let you off easily if the bride sends her greetings properly!”

Their laughter pierced the sky.

But of course, along with the meaningless provocation.

They tried to build a castle just like Halstead castle that had endured in the land of Demons, for this very occasion.

Perhaps they intended to get the bride’s hand if possible. This will be the most severe insult they can give to the Young Lord.

The so-called ‘emotional agitation.’

Leticia’s heart ached.

These evil demons in Pandemonia had hurt her parents. And now, Leticia herself and the castle that took her in is being trampled on.

‘I won’t forgive you.’

She boiled up, she felt like it was the first time in her entire life.

‘I’m going to make you regret it!’

She made a detailed explanation of how the plan will be executed.

There is a silhouette of the ants living in their colony. The fire which had been scattered all over the place, are all in standby and ready to be used any minute.

Everything is set.

Leticia looked at the maids.

She nodded.

With Burning flames all in place, the six arrows that hung around the barrels were released.

Hmm?

Just before the Giant Ants even figured it out.

Bam!

The biggest bonfire from afar exploded, the queen ant along with her nest burst into pieces.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

The rest of the lighted arrows also erupted successfully. Giant Ants flew all over the place like popcorn with their bellies and back torn apart.

With joy, Leticia jumped up happily.

She forgot her fear of using her previous life’s knowledge, she had forgotten everything. It was just the thrill that remained.

Leticia got onto the footstep. Excitingly she put her hands together, placed them on her mouth, and shouted as hard as she could.

“This is the bride’s greeting!”
