244 The Slippers Are Right There

His radiant skin and toned abs came into her sight once again. Her face began to burn as she looked up to meet his deep gaze. It carried an intoxicating infatuation that made her melt into it instantly.

She felt his kisses again as she tilted up her neck to receive them.

His large hands dove into her sweater and moved upwards, grabbing her chest.

Lin Nuan's head went blank as she let go and moaned.

It was already three in the afternoon by the time it was all done.

When Lin Nuan woke up, Fu Huai'an was nowhere to be seen. She felt like someone had disassembled her, and her body felt so sore she couldn't lift her arms.

The pain she felt in her legs and emptiness in her heart made her uneasy.

She learned her lesson from the last time and didn't get up immediately.

She put on her sweater and walked barefoot outside the room to retrieve her slippers in the living room. She glanced towards the gym upstairs.

"You're awake…"

Lin Nuan heard the voice and walked towards the kitchen.

After the shower, Fu Huai'an was wearing a navy blue robe as he arranged the table.

Lin Nuan was only wearing an oversized sweater, revealing her fair long legs, delicate ankles, and small feet. They appeared extra toned on the marble floor.

Fu Huai'an removed the cigarette from the corner of his mouth and said in a deep, magnetic voice, "The slippers are at the corner of the bed. Your washed clothes and robe are in the changing room—the housekeeper already helped wash and iron them for you. You can come eat after you take a shower…"

Lin Nuan nodded and returned to the bedroom to put on her slippers.

Fu Huai'an bent over and organized the table with the cigarette in his mouth. He looked approachable as he was doing the chore, without the normal intimidating presence.

There was indeed a lady's robe in the changing room—the silk pajamas and cotton clothes for home wear were folded neatly on the shelf, together with a pair of undergarments. The arrangement made her look like the queen of the house…

After showering, Lin Nuan walked out of the bedroom with damp hair. Fu Huai'an was answering a call on the balcony outside.

Lin Nuan took a look at Fu Huai'an and walked into the kitchen. She heard the steam cooker making noise and removed the lid with a cloth.

To her surprise, instead of the fish which she had intended to steam, there were a couple of clean, intricate dishes inside with appetizing oysters, eggs, and Mandarin fish.

She noticed a few takeaway packages in the trash.

Lin Nuan put on her gloves and brought the food to the table, placing them together with the other dishes Fu Huai'an heated up.

Seeing that Fu Huai'an had still not ended his call, Lin Nuan scrolled through her phone and waited for him at the table.

She saw an unanswered call from Song Yao from five minutes before, and two from Miss Xia as well as a text.

Miss Xia asked for Lin Nuan to check her email for the guest coming on her show the next Tuesday.

Lin Nuan looked up and reasoned that Fu Huai'an wouldn't be ending his call quickly, so she returned Song Yao's call.

After ringing for quite a while, Song Yao finally answered with an extremely raspy and stuffy voice. "Nuan…"

Lin Nuan could hear her crying and shaking on the other end. She asked, shocked, "What happened?"

Song Yao swallowed down her cries but still couldn't stop trembling. "Could you… could you bring an outfit and come pick me up at the Century Hotel?"
