147 Intruders Part 2

Wallace watched the cloaked intruders destroy the Mana Pulse Barriers. His surveillance system caught twelve of them but he wasn't sure whether there were others watching from a distance as lookout.

That's highly probable.

Aside from the cloak that somehow interferes with the scanning ability of an investigative Mana Artifacts, these twelve have something in common. They wore similar gauntlets that were oozing with black miasma.

It looks dreadful and very dangerous.

\"What are these thing? No, what are they looking for?\"

Unfortunately, it seems that he wouldn't have a chance to learn what were they searching for yet.

\"There's only few Mana Pulse Barriers, defense turrets and automatons. This will be easy.\" The leader of the cloaked individuals received a report from their scout ahead about the status of their targeted location.

Prior to this, they received a report that there's no one present within the house as well. It was a perfect timing to act as ordered by the higher ups. But they felt that it actually didn't matter even if the owner of the house was present here. They would still act and accomplish their mission.

\"Our task was only to retrieve those materials. Although this is the most vulnerable place considering all of our targets, keep track of the time. Once we retrieved the items, you can just take what you want as your bonuses. Remember, we only have four minutes and a half to rummage the place.\"

\"Haha! That should be enough, taking out that barrier and the automatons wouldn't take a minute with our numbers here.\"

\"I heard that the owner of this place was an Artifact Forger. There might be a lot of good things here.\"

\"Haha! That's only natural. So we'll have more than three minutes to take whatever we found there, right?\"

\"Mhm. As long as we retrieved those, whatever loot you snatched afterwards would be yours to keep.\"

\"Haha! Good Thats what I like about you, boss.\"

\"Alright, it should be about time.\"

The group of twelve immediately moved to forcefully open the front gate. Sometimes, it was easier to enter from the front compared to sneakily tunneling on the other sides.

The three on the front put their hands on the gate and cast a magic spell.

It was Magic Jammer. Something that could not easily be acquired by random individuals. This already shows that their background weren't so simple.

The Mana Pulse Barrier only lasted for 8 seconds before a hole, enough to fit 2 people, was made easily.

They then proceeded to destroy the defenseless gate as they officially entered to Wallace's property.

This was immediately detected by the automatons standing guard. These five humanoid automatons were shining gold in color with a trident logo on their forehead. Sometimes, the logo of Golden Trident Group already instilled fear to other criminals but not this time.

The golden automatons immediately went into formation coordinating with the defense turrets.

The twelve intruders also formed a circle as they prepared to cast another spells.

Thud! Thud! Thud!

The defense turrets that were exposed and hidden started to activate and aim for the enemies.

On the other hand, the other assistive tools installed together with the B3 package immediately identified the intruders as 'highly dangerous' since they recognized the gauntlets that the enemies wore.

This made the turrets and automatons change their immobilizing spells to killing spells.

'Ten-Fold Mystic Barriers!' Four of the cloaked individuals formed a defense in circle. The spells didn't come from the gauntlet with black miasma yet.

They couldn't use Magic Jammers this time as some of the projectiles that those turrets could shoot were grenades, rocket propelled grenades, and advanced rifle bullets aside from the magic spells. It will be safer to cast defensive spells as using Magic Jammer would also leave them unable to cast magic.

From the 8 Turrets installed by the security company, there were 2 Heavy Auto Turrets, 2 Minigun Turrets, 2 Rocket Turrets, and 2 Elemental Turrets.

The Elemental Turrets could only shoot magic spells reaching the level of Battle Mage's spell. Theoretically, these set of turrets were capable of defending even against an Adept Mage. Although it couldn't defeat or kill one, they should be capable of keeping them out of their territory.

The relentless bullets raining and coordinated spells as well as the constantly moving Minigun Turrets between the walls could easily catch even the seasoned magicians off guard.

Unfortunately, it seems that the twelve intruders were very well prepared. The location and movements of turrets were easily seen and defended.

The automatons didn't get near the twelve as they instead sent lethal magic spells that they could cast.

Water Hail Wolves!

Piercing Frost!

Hell Hound!

Solar Flare!

Wind Storm!

The last spell was specifically cast to contain the twelve intruders and to make sure that no one could escape from the multiple spells, bullets, and grenades thrown at them.

As the spells were nearing them, instead of getting panicked or shocked by the onslaught of the defense system, they instead smiled as if they were waiting for the automatons to act.

\"Now!\" Shouted by the leader at the center of their formation.

After they heard the leader's shout. The black miasma that were only lurking around their gauntlets started to cover their whole bodies and even turning their eyes to complete black.

'Casting those killing spells will result to 1.5 seconds of buffering before it could move again. Keke! Dealing with automatons is so easy if you learned their combat sequence.' The leader grinned as he was very confident that they could easily take the cores of this automatons.

All the information of this automaton was given for them to study so although this was the first time that they will be dealing with these types of automaton, they were already thinking of the rewards after this mission.

Their combat patterns, spells that could cast, and other important aspect of their structure were laid bare on their eyes so they could confidently claim that these automatons were like a fish on cutting board.

Sure enough, the twelve cloaked intruders that were shrouded by the black miasma easily disposed the five automatons. The five didn't even managed to cast another spells before being taken down.

The enemies only used their speed and strength advantage to win, the bane of all elemental-based combat magicians. They were aware that these automatons were heavily relying on their fire power while under the protection of other defense systems. They were weak in close combat. Even their Mana Shells were easily corroded by their black miasma.

If its anyone else, they would have to be extremely careful as they will have to still defend against the other turrets.

\"Haha! This is amazing. Master's Hallowed Eye really works perfectly.\"

\"Alright, boys. Take whatever you can. We still have about 220 seconds.\"

The leader said after retrieving the five cores and completely destroying all the turrets surround the outer yard of the property.

The twelve no longer replied as it was a race against time. The black miasma protecting them also had about the same time limit.

They had to be quick.

As the battle occurred within the courtyard, the house and workshop connected were still in perfect shape.

Two intruders went to enter the house while the others decided to check the workshop.

As soon as the two who decided to enter the house tried to crash the window using their bodies to easily enter, they were met with counter attack from the 2nd Defense System.

Avalon has fully activated the secondary contigency defense plan to annihilate the enemy. It first activated several weapons that were on standby.

[ Laser Sledge 1.0 ] Designed to shoot down aircrafts, drones, or any flight-capable intruders.

[ Laser Focus 4.0 ] A small sized laser cannon. A total of 12 cannons were installed around the building. It is an upgraded version of the Laser Focus that was made during the international competition.

[ Terror Centrigal Gun ] A gun that could fire 110,000 rounds with .50 caliber. There's only two of this downgraded version of gun at the moment. This gun also uses electrical energy to launch each round, rather than the traditional combustion of gunpowder, so it's also disturbingly quiet.

[ Elysium 1.0 ] + [ Bio-Armor ] Automaton that was made with extremely high combat standards and also wearing the dreadful bio-armor that was recognized as one of the best even within the Galactic Federation.

[ Wave Ward ] The shield protecting the house and workshop. The ward also creates waves out of vibrations and can cause explosions when the vibrations hits somebody else's mana. These waves can be controlled to be thrown as projectiles, and Avalon could also control the ward to be able to change the length and width of these waves.

The activated Ward stopped the intruders from entering.

Boom! Boom!

Multiple explosions were heard as the intruders made contact with the Wave Ward surrounding the buildings.

\"Argh! What's this magic?!\"

\"Tsk. This isn't included in the reports. Darn those scouts!\"

\"We don't have time to argue. Use your full force quickly!\"

But as soon as they started gathering more black miasma to guard them. They were showered by the terror centrifugal gun shots.

Clang! Clang! Clang!

Their black miasma didn't managed to defend all the incoming bullets. Some of the bullets were hitting their armors inside.

\"Tsk! Ten-fold  Mystic Barriers!\"

The barrier activated to protect them but it didn't even last for more than a couple of seconds before it crumbled.

As soon as they planned to cast another one to cover their retreats, the Laser Focus that completed their activation sequence started to rain them with multiple beams of light.

\"Ahh!\"

\"No! What's this!\"

\"Magic Jammer!\"

\"Hurry!\"

Unfortunately, Magic Jammer Canceller has already been activated ever since the 2nd Defense System was activated.

The twelve intruders were succumb by the endless rounds from centrifugal gun and thoroughly annihilated by the Laser Focus.

Avalon might've also detected a dangerous existense, probably contagious disease, from the gauntlets as the beam of light thoroughly destroyed everything leaving nothing behind.
