909 The Terrible Undead Army

Skeleton Knight (LV50) (Elite)

HP:100000

MP: 50000

Skills: Slashing, Collision

Talent: Wind Crash

Background: A warrior who has fought a hundred wars. He will summon a ghost horse from the bones of his enemies. Through countless battles, he has been forged in the cauldron of blood.

"F*ck, there is such a monster?" Everyone was shocked to see the attributes of the Skeleton Knight. Nobody thought that the Skeleton Knight would evolve after it reached level 50. The Knight gained stronger skills and even a ten times improvement in its attributes.

The system was extremely devious in luring players to wantonly kill monsters with the promise of experience and points. It was a close shave that they managed to uncover this ploy in the nick of time.

After scooping out a couple of white bones, the Skeleton Knight looked to his left and right. The rifle in his hand blew out a green smudge from its tip.

The smudge hit the Skeleton Warrior who was in the front and it disintegrated. Thus, a gap appeared in the ranks of the Skeleton Knights.

At this moment, two more strange Skeleton Knights appeared.

One was carrying a delicate Staff while the other Bone Bow.

Archmage (LV50) (Elite)

HP:50000

MP: 100000

Skills: Hellfire, Hell Flame

Talent: Soul-sucking

Background: The powerful sorcerer of the Soul Fire grows stronger but absorbing souls of other sorcerers. It has an extremely powerful mental energy.

Devil Skeleton Archer (LV50) (Elite)

HP: 80000

MP: 80000

Skills: Arrow of the Dead, Dark Necromancer

Talent: Perception

Background: Wielding the might of Hell's power, this powerful archer has the ability to perceive any creature.

Although these three monsters were stronger than the usual Undead Army soldiers by ten times, they were only level 50 elite monsters after all. The situation was still within the grasp of the players.

What terrified the players was what these three squadrons were planning to do.

As soon as they appeared, they immediately targeted the low-level Skeleton soldiers.

Under the protection of the Skeleton Knight and Devil Skeleton Archer, the Archmage waved its staff. A black flame erupted and swallowed a dozen of the Skeleton soldiers.

When the soldiers were killed off by the players, they became white bones scattered on the ground. However, not before long, the bones would reform and the soldiers would continue their assault. Strangely when Archmage attacked these soldiers, they were not able to reform. The whole place turned into a sea raging wildfire as dark blue souls were strewn around.

The Archmage once again waved his staff as he swallowed all the remnant souls of the Skeleton soldiers.

The battlefield was momentarily cleared of low leveled monsters and what was left was the high ranking Skeleton Knights.

These Skeleton Knights proceeded to systematically kill to their heart's worth before calling their other comrades.

After a period of time, more than half of the valley's low leveled soldiers had been slaughtered.

The players finally understood the nature of the Undead Army. It was an environment where the strong preyed on the weak.

There was limited space in the valley. Therefore in order to summon more Skeleton Knights to the battlefield, the other Skeleton Knights had to quickly clear off the weaker Skeleton soldiers.

If this situation were to be allowed to continue, the monster of the Undead Army would reach unimaginable levels. It was not completely impossible for it to evolve into its Ultimate Form - Undead Bone Dragon.

When things reached that point, the players here would not be able to hold down the fort. Even if the whole player base of Twilight City were to be mobilised, it might still not be of any use.

"F*ck, this mission is too ridiculous. I want to complain!" Seeing the unfolding battle scenes, everyone wanted to retreat.

When one player began to deviate from the original collective will to complete the mission, others would be inclined to follow his lead.

As more and more players were about to throw in the towel, Fearless shouted, "Don't mess around! There is no such thing as an impossible mission, everyone just needs to think harder to get through this."

"F*ck, do you think we have the slightest chance of victory?" everyone replied exasperatedly.

"In the state you are in, of course we do not have any chance!" Fearless scoffed coldly. "The frontline and Healers first tank the incoming assault. The others spread out and survey the terrain for anything out of the ordinary."

It was not uncommon for special contraptions to be hidden in >. However, these secret doors or items were often extremely difficult to find.

"Even if we find it, there is no use! We are all dead!!" Someone in the crowd cried out as he completely threw in the towel.

Fearless narrowed his eyes as he replied in a threatening tone, "Everyone better listen to my commands or else it is akin to going against the Quan Zhen Sect and Sanguine Alliance! You better understand the consequences of your actions!"

"…"

As everyone heard Fearless warning, they displayed a face of horror. All the players who had prior grievances quickly shut their mouths.

Who would dare to provoke the two behemoth guilds, Quan Zhen Sect and Sanguine Alliance? If one were to incur their wrath, it would be better to quit the game.

Seeing that his warning had quelled the rebellion, Fearless turned back towards the oncoming Undead Army and healed Sanguine Warflag at the same time. He bellowed to the other players, "What are you guys waiting for!"

The remaining players dispersed to find anything that might help them get out of this situation.

The mouth of the Valley was too big. Even if the players turned over every single stone, they found nothing out of the ordinary.

"Impossible… Is it above the valley?" Fearless furrowed his eyebrows as he muttered to himself.

"Above?"

Wang Yu heard him and headed towards the small platform that Captain Don't Open Fire's team was trapped on previously.

The platform was just ten metres away from the left side of the mountain wall. It was not conspicuous at all. It blended into the surrounding mountainous terrain that Wang Yu had previously discovered while rescuing Captain Don't Open Fire.

"Is that it?" Wang Yu pointed in the direction of the platform and said, "I saw magic runes there just now."

"Magic runes?" Fearless eyes lit up. "Let me take a look!"

Fearless waved his staff and gracefully flew up to the platform.

As Wang Yu had mentioned, the platform had a magic array which was engraved with magic runes. These magic runes looked familiar but they had no magic imbued in them.

Without magic, this array was totally useless.

Fearless stroked his jaw deep in thought as he fashioned a guess; why would the system place a magic array without magic here?

Could it be that this array could somehow be recharged?

How could we get around to recharge it?

Huh?

As he was contemplating the various scenarios, he traced each rune in the magic array by hand, slowly counting them one by one.

There turned out to be exactly 15 runes!
