Chapter 219: New Ride

"Wake up Maggy, I'll be out soon. Come and eat before the food gets cold!" Noah shouted at Maggy as he finished making an omelet for them to eat for breakfast, but even today he couldn't help smiling when he woke her up in the morning.

Living alone at home for more than five years had been extremely lonely. The presence of Lilith and Terrence had helped Noah to lighten the mood a little, but it was only when Maggy came back to him that he finally felt satisfied. Since Maggy had moved in with Noah, there hadn't been a day when he didn't smile when he remembered that.

Seeing Maggy coming from the bedroom while rubbing her eyes with her little hands, Noah couldn't help smiling again.

"You slept well?" Noah asked as he placed the omelet on her plate.

"Yes, I dreamed of Mom..." she replied in a sad voice.

Her words made Noah's heart squeeze for a second, before he rubbed her head and responded, "It's okay. This is a way for us to never stop being with her, since she will always be with us in our dreams and in our minds."

Hearing that, Maggy smiled, thinking that what her brother said made sense.

After finishing breakfast with her, Noah went to the garage and put on the armor he had.

Today would be his first time invading a Rank C Fortress, and since he had a Boss's Rank D armor, he decided to use this for his own protection.

The common monsters of a Rank E Fortress were almost as strong as the Boss of a Rank F Fortress, and so were the monsters of a Rank D Fortress that were almost as strong as the Boss of the previous Fortress. But according to what Carlos had said, in a Rank C Fortress it was different. The monsters of a Rank C Fortress were much stronger than the Boss of a Rank D Fortress.

And this was proven to Noah when the unicorn fully recovered and moved up to Rank C. They had tested how much stronger he had gotten and if the unicorn was to put it in numbers, the monster's statistics had gone up from roughly 10 points in most stats to 17.

This was a 70% increase in strength from a Rank D Boss to a higher Rank C monster.

Noah initially thought that the unicorn would have the strength of a Rank C Boss when it evolved automatically, but the unicorn denied it himself, saying that he had to train before reaching the strength of a Rank C Boss, which would probably be above 30 points in all stats: more than 3x stronger than the strength he until recently had.

This reminded Noah of the monsters' essences. It was probably the reason why monsters had a chance to drop essences for the Blessed. Noah had researched the essences and found that they were something like a nucleus in the monsters that was where they concentrated their energy. Their strength had reached such a high point that it had solidified internally.

The unicorn said that he had to train now to solidify his essence into a solid core somewhere in his body, but according to him, because of how powerful and comfortable the flames were where he slept, this process was going much faster than he could have imagined.

After putting on the armor, Noah summoned the unicorn. Since he was going to go to the Fortress with the armor on, wearing that big metal thing in the car wouldn't be comfortable at all, so he thought it would be better to ride there instead.

In the capital he had already seen some Blessed Ones who also had monsters with them. Of course, none of the monsters were as powerful or intimidating as the unicorn, but that meant Noah could use the unicorn as a means of getting around the city without worry. And luckily the Fortress they were going to invade had emerged within the Khan family's territory, where Noah had even less concern.

Currently Noah was a Blessed Rank C, and even though there were many others of the same rank in the city, they were still people with high prestige and who had privileges that the Blessed below them did not have. After all, few people in the world could achieve this rank, and not to mention that he was one of the Blessed Ones in the inner circle of one of the city's great families; it meant that he had even more privileges than the others.

So regardless of the looks he would receive, since he would be wearing the armor that would cover his entire body, Noah straddled the unicorn and galloped around the city.

The unicorn's hooves that were on fire left traces of fire wherever he walked for a few seconds, added to the appearance of Noah riding as he kept the armor's flames active, many people were frightened when they saw him riding down the road.

The more astute warriors were even on the alert, thinking that this fire knight was some monster that had fled a nearby Fortress, but seeing that he was not attacking anyone, they were a little more relaxed. After all, monsters could not control the bloodlust they had for humans, so simply because he wasn't attacking people on the street proved that he was a human.

But that raised even more doubts among members of the Khan family. Even though they had lived for so many years inside the Khan Conglomerate, they had never seen anyone like that.

They'd seen extravagant people walking around with ice eagles on their shoulders, but these eagles were just normal Rank E monsters, at best a weak Rank D monster. Just by looking at that unicorn they knew he was strong. The aura he exuded made it clear to people that he was a Rank C monster, and not a normal Rank C monster, but a Rank C monster that was almost finished forming his core essence.

Noah simply ignored the look of these people and asked the unicorn to speed up.

Since the unicorn had 50 agility points before evolution, it was already a fast monster, as fast as a car, but now that it had evolved into a Rank C monster, its speed could be even faster than most of the fastest sports cars in the world.

So with Noah's command, the unicorn began to gallop faster and faster, and with the agility he had, unlike a car that would be difficult to turn at this speed, the unicorn did not have this difficulty, and could even dodge from a driver who suddenly turned out in front of him easily.

For normal people who saw the horse and rider go by, the only thing that passed through their eyes was a red flash that left a red trail of fire in its wake for 2 seconds before disappearing, and suddenly returning to normal view as if nothing different had happened there a few seconds ago.

Sensing the speed at which they were traveling, Noah knew that perhaps it might cause some problems for him, but not that he cared about it.

Within minutes they arrived at the Fortress, and just like the people on the road, the Blessed Ones gathered outside the portal looked at Noah and the Unicorn with caution.
