Chapter 216: Maggy's Disappointment

To signal that the battle had started, a green light came on at the top of the arena with the word "Go!"

With that, Noah began to move with agility through the rubble scattered around the place as if he already knew where everything was beforehand.

As much as he loved to act like an assassin in battles, since it matched his skill set so much, this time Noah didn't care about that. He was just facing a single Blessed One. And seeing as his opponent had no prior information about him, Noah knew that he practically had the game won just by doing so.

Unlike Noah, who was moving nimbly through the rubble like a fish in the water, Mason was walking calmly as if nothing that was going to happen could affect him.

Born into a powerful family with an elevated position, Mason had always felt superior to others, especially to someone who came from a smaller city like Noah. In his mind, Noah was just a boy who still wore diapers. Maybe he didn't even know about the essences, but even if he did, so what? By Noah's age, Mason believed he had at most just reached Rank D, let alone Rank C.

'It even took me more than 10 years to reach Rank C. This boy who has been Blessed for a maximum of 5 years must have just reached Rank D and thinks he is someone powerful for reaching the "top" of his small town,' Mason thought contemptuously as he continued to move forward carelessly.

Noah continued to advance until he noticed Mason.

Contrary to what Marcus imagined, the boy Marcel brought was able to feel and locate Mason before his son could. This was already very surprising. After all, a Blessed Rank C has much sharper senses than Blessed from lower ranks.

And against everything Marcus imagined, in a fraction of a second he saw the boy spread a knife in the air, as if he were hugging and threatening someone invisible. He even thought of ridiculing the boy, who was apparently playing with a knife while he was in battle, but before he said anything, the boy burst into flames where he was standing.

But not only that, but a similar explosion happened behind Mason's back. The boy who was previously "hugging the air" now had Mason completely between that gap in his arms, with the dagger he now held perfectly aligned with Mason's neck, threatening to cut him if he didn't surrender.

This had been completely beyond Marcus' expectations. Knowing his own son, he knew that not even some of the Blessed Rank Cs could deal with him today, but apparently he had greatly underestimated this boy's Blessing. He had a fucking Space Blessing!

'Shit, does he have a Space Blessing? I haven't seen anyone with such a Blessing for over ten years that I had forgotten how powerful they are... Now I understand why Marcel is so confidence in this boy, even though he is young and probably just a Blessed Rank D. Because he has a Space Blessing, he can deal with Blessed and Fortresses of a higher rank... Even if I don't like the boy, I can't try to prevent a Blessed with a Spatial Blessing from joining our family. That alone will attract many talented young people after seeing that we have a Blessed who can manipulate space.' Marcel thought of several things while watching the battle unfold.

After seeing Mason's overwhelming defeat, Marcus didn't even continue to mock Marcel; he just sighed and said before leaving, "Send me a message with his basic data so I can register him as a family member."

Seeing his uncle leave like that, without any poisonous words, Marcel couldn't help but smile. Marcus hadn't even waited for Mason to leave together with him. As much as Marcel knew that Noah had a Space Blessing, he didn't imagine that Noah could beat Mason so easily.

Mason had a Blessing that allowed him to increase the agility of his body a lot, making his speed somewhat frightening, similar to / the same as Marcel's Blessing, since they prayed for the same god. But what is high speed in the face of instantaneous teleportation? While Mason would have to take a moment to activate his Blessing and start moving, Noah had already appeared on his back with a dagger pointed at his throat.

After Mason surrendered, he looked at Noah with an ugly expression and left without saying a word. Noah didn't care and went back the way he entered, leaving next to Marcel and Maggy.

Marcel was looking at him with pride, while Maggy looked a little disappointed about something. Noah was immediately concerned for her, thinking that something bad might have happened to her while he was inside.

"What is it / is the matter, princess? Why are you like this? Did something happen?" Noah asked.

Even Marcel had been worried when he saw how Maggy was acting. Because of the battle he had not paid very much attention to her since she was apparently just eating a piece of the candy he had bought for her, but who knew that something might have happened to her while he was not paying attention.

Maggy looked at Noah with a slightly sad expression as she hesitated to say what she was really thinking. Noah had to try to reassure her before she answered, "You didn't burn anyone..."

Noah's brain stopped for a fraction of a second while listening to this... He thought someone might have said mean things to her, or that he had actually done something to her... but who knew she just wanted to see someone being burned alive in front of her?!

'I- I... Maybe I should be concerned about this? Is my sister becoming a pyromaniac a bad thing...? I hope not...' Noah thought as he stroked Maggy's head without really knowing what to say.
