Chapter 59 - Macy And Sky's Kiss

CHAPTER 59

Jay rounded the car and entered the driver seat. "Please, I would be a goner if Xander finds out I said anything."

"Your cup of tea."

"Oh come on, you know how is punishments are like." Jay gave her puppy dog eyes as he pleaded with her.

"Umm, I would consider it."

"Please. Okay if you do not, I would always answer your question about Macy."

"Nice, deal."

Jay let out a sigh of relief before kick-starting the car. "You would kill me one day."

"Hopefully Macy saves you before then." She giggled again, her soft laughter felt like music to Jay's ears and it reminded him of why he had crushed on her before.

Meanwhile, Macy and Sky were done reviewing the documents and going over all their discoveries and making new plans to counter the problems the business may likely face.

It was now time to relax and have lunch. The restaurant was particularly empty as it was mostly visited by the rich of the rich and not many were available at this point in time, so save for two other couples seated far from them, it was just the two friends that were there.

All through their meeting, Macy could not help noticing some fine features of Sky and admire his brilliance and how he brought different suggestions to tackle their problems.

They were mostly having the same thought pattern and that had only warmed her heart even more.

The more they spoke, the more attracted she was to him and the later could not as well deny the chemistry he felt with her.

He felt comfortable being around her and appreciated her intelligence. It was no wonder she handled the company's affairs so well as the manager.

He admired her for her capability in leading, her brainpower, her smartness, her funniness and the fact that he could relate with her so well further made him drawn to her.

"Hahha…" Macy laughed at a joke he just told. They were seated close to each other on the leather cushion that could accommodate three people, facing each other.

Sky had one of his legs on the cushion with him and his left hand resting on the head of the chair as he listened to her soft giggle and teased some more.

"Oh please. You do not say." She smiled, trying to compose herself but failed miserably as she snorted by mistake and quickly covered her face in embarrassment.

"Relax. It is cool to be yourself," Sky said with blinking charming eyes.

"I am sorry. Do not mind me. Kindly continue. So you mean to say you jumped?"

"Oh yes. It was one heck of a naughty and funny attempt and I jumped into the porch upstairs, thinking I was going to be superman."

Macy had her mouth falling open as she could imagine the horror and the terror of what he was saying and what was going to happen.

"And when I noticed I did not suspend in the air as I thought I would, gravity acted and I started falling down."

"Oh no! Please tell me a superman really came to save the day and you did not break a limb or two." She seemed thrilled by the story she was hearing and at the same time scared.

"Haha, sadly none came."

"You don't say. So what happened? I bet you got scolded real good," Macy said, adjusting in her seat.

"You bet I did but the funny thing was, I did not break anything. Rather I landed into the pool."

"Phew!" Macy released the breath she had no idea she was holding in and clutched a hand on her chest. "Thank goodness."

"It isn't over yet."

"There's more?"

"Yes. You would be surprised how much the story takes."

"Okay then, I would not interrupt any longer."

"And so I fell face flat into the pool and the deep part of the pool. I could swim a bit then but for such a fall, the shock and it being the deepest part, I most definitely was doing to drown and I did."

"No way."

"Luckily for me, Xander was there and he was the best swimmer amongst us. He quickly dived in when he saw that my silly attempt to be superman failed and rescued me, pulling me out of the pool with him."

"Aww, he is such a sweetheart."

"You do not want to let him hear you say that?"

"Why?" Macy seemed confused by his words.

"That is because he doesn't like it. I think it makes him seem weak. Anyways, Jay was left speechless and could barely breathe the whole time Xander was pumping my chest, trying to get me to pour out the water I swallowed."

Macy could not believe he had started the story off like a child's play whereas it was something deep and serious.

"Xander had warned us prior but Jay only cheered my silliness on and at the end of the day, things became bad. Ever since that day, I learnt to let go of some childish act and started thinking like an adult, just the way Xander did. He grew up learning to think way past his peers and taking things seriously."

"That is just tough. As a kid, you should be allowed the freedom."

"Yes, we were but Xander just did not engage in some silly acts like being superman. That's all. Apparently, I outgrew it but Jay did not."

"I see. Well, I am glad you were alright and thank goodness, Xander was there."

"Yeah me too. I guess that was the spec of having a serious one amongst us."

"True, I get your point but mine still stands hehe." She giggled softly then sat up straight and stared back into his lovely hazel ocean blue eyes that mirrored the depth of his soul in them.

They continued with their meal and had a few more discussions, flirting with each other every now and then.

Minutes later, Macy could barely hold it in neither could Sky. They could feel the tension and feelings building. For Macy, it only felt right to be with him at that moment.

It did not take long, Macy and Sky leaned in, subconsciously drawing closer to the other with each and every funny word spoken.

By now, their faces were just a few inches away and they could feel the breath of the other person tickle their faces and smiled again.

Slowly, Macy's eyes dropped closed and open as her gaze dropped to his lips, then to his eyes and back down again.

Sky still had his eyes semi-open, feeling the longing in his chest and the need to taste to cherry rosy lips of hers but then something struck in his heart and his eyes flew back open.

Just when he was about to stop and return, Macy made the move and pressed her lips on his, sealing them in a well-deserved kiss. His eyes dropped close for a second and his right hand instinctively moved up to her waist and stopped.

At that moment, the doors to the restaurant opened and two figures stepped in. It did not take long to find the person they were looking for.

Sky still did not return the kiss as everything seemed strange, fast and confusing for him but when he allowed himself succumb to his lust and kiss her back…

His eyes flew open and he pulled back.

No, this was all wrong. He just could not bring himself to do it. He wanted to but that was his body speaking and not his heart.

Feeling the loss of contact, Macy's eyes flew open as well and hazel green orbs stared back into a pair of blue ones in confusion.

She could see his hesitation clearly written in his eyes and then she saw something else, like guilt and regret suddenly wash over his cute face.

"What?" She muttered slowly, her eyes trailing over his face for any answer.

"I am sorry. I can't." Sky apologized and moved back, turning in his seat and rubbing a hand over his face. "Damn it!"

Macy was confused. She had still not understood what was going on. Everything seemed to be going on perfectly, so why did he stop? Or did she misread the signs?

"I am sorry too," she apologized before setting herself back and facing the table. It was then she raised her head from what she was staring at to see two people standing a few seats away from them with wide pained eyes.

Sky who had his eyes shut all these while finally dropped his hands and opened them. His half-lidded eyes shot open at that instant.

"Shit! No! Jenny!"

Jenny who had watched it all happen in front of her looked like she would burst into tears any time soon and just when the tears began to fall from her eyes and Sky called her name, she turned around and ran away, leaving the restaurant.

"Jay," Sky stood up at once and looked at his friend.
