99 The Heist Part 3

Hayato disabled the elevator camera and the group got on the elevator. To be honest it was a little cramped for 5 people but they did not have any other choice. The list inside the elevator was dim. They were going deeper and deeper underground. The deeper it went the more nervous Linri was getting. Honestly, he was sure that they would be found by now and they would have to fight their way inside but a situation like that would be unpredictable.

If such a situation would occur Linri was sure that Selim would stay because of his bloodlust. He was also sure about Leslie because of her personality. Luke and Hayato, on the other hand, was a mystery. Yeah among the group Hayato was the one he known for the longest but during this time they were always in some kind of competition. Like when Hayato tried to search for his background or tried to make Selim beat the shit out of him. The only reason he was so cooperative right now was his desire for the location of 6 and his hatred for government super-soldier programs.

However, this did not mean that he would risk his life to destroy one. He had earned the right to live his life through some extreme means and Linri was sure that he would not throw it away for some hatred.

Luke's situation, however, was similar and different at the same time. Luke was an orphan born in New York. He was lucky enough that an orphanage took him in but that could also be counted his misfortune. Because the head of the orphanage would sell kids in the black market. Luke was one of the unfortunate ones to be sold when he was 7.

After that, he went through all kinds of training and joined countless wars. Eventually, during a life and death situation, he discovered his ability. The first thing he did was kill everyone that made him suffer. Be it his buyer or the head of the orphanage that sold him. They had all died under his blade. Of course, after that he took the life of a mercenary, going from war to war and accepting all kinds of jobs. That was why he was such an enigma. His personality was cold so he was sure that Luke would not stay because of compassion and he did not know if he would leave them to protect his own life.

When Linri was checking Luke through the corner of his eyes they finally made it to the facility. Now, this was where the real plan was gonna start. Just before they made it to the ground level Linri and the gang opened up the hatch on the roof and got outside. The facility they were about to break into was guarded by 15 mechanically enhanced soldier. If they tried to go head to head with them it would be a bloodbath and they would definitely be murdered. So the only solution was sneak in through the vents. This facility was not big and was consistent of 3 main areas. The laboratory where they tested on the subjects. The living quarters where some of the scientists that stayed too late and the guards stayed and lastly the location where they keep the test subjects.

All in all, it was not too big but if you count all the rooms inside the facility it would be as big as a soccer field and maybe bigger than that. Considering that this is an underground facility that is actually quite impressive.

So since this was an underground facility it was full of vents but each and every one of them had a motion sensor and that was where Hayato's nanobots came handy. So right now they could crawl anywhere they want in the facility. When Linri put it like that it didn't sound cool but it actually was. It was very cool in fact.

So using the vents they made their way into the area where they kept the test subjects. Selim used his ability to see if there were any guards down there. Luckily there wasn't anyone so they lifted the hatch and got down using a rope leaving Leslie up there to hold the rope.

When they got down Linri immediately started to check the cell names. He finally found the one named AX0L92. This was Alex's cell and coincidentally where his name comes from. Seeing how unimaginative the cell name was Linri thought Gendor should have been more creative but whatever.

Linri looked inside the cell through the observation hole in the metal door but when he looked inside Gendor was not inside it. Linri signed Selim to come here and check inside the cell with his power but Selim signed him that there was no one inside.

Now, this was problematic. If he was not here where was Alex? It wasn't hard to guess where he was actually. Since he was not here that would mean he was probably in the laboratory and one of the scientist were experimenting on him but why? It was 3AM! Who would be crazy enough to experiment at this late hour? Wait! Does that mean that Gendor broke down and they discovered his powers? Oh man if that was the truth it was gonna make this complicated. Very very complicated. Still, there was some hope at least. Instead of discovering their powers there might be a workaholic who was still experimenting on him and looking through the data. So the gang climbed back to the vent with the rope and started to crawl towards the laboratory. It was time to see if this plan was a bust or a success.
