564 The Abandoned Palace

"Something's off." Mo Wen touched his chin. He did not hesitate before jumping into the pool of water.

"So cold!"There was a splash and a figure flew up from the Xuan Ming Frozen Water. It was a woman with well-defined curves who looked sexy. As the water had soaked her dress, the translucent dress hugged her body tightly, vaguely showing the color of her flesh, making her look seductive.

"Damn it. It's lucky that I have got the Nuan Yang Jade. Otherwise, I might have been trapped." Jin Ying's expression was frozen and she looked somewhat unhealthy. Her entire body, from head to toe, was freezing cold. A cold aura radiated from her body. The stones around her turned into powder immediately because of the cold.

She held a fiery red jade pendant in her hand tightly. She shuddered uncontrollably for a bit before she regained a little color.

Rumble. The sound of earth moving could be heard from behind her. The Xuan Ming Shielded Tortoise was on its way back.

Jin Ying took a deep breath. There was no time to rest right now, much less regain her Inner Qi. She could only grit her teeth and tried her best to continue down the tunnel. She arrived before the pool moments later.

"Where are they?" A trace of confusion flashed in Jin Ying's eyes. She had followed them but Mo Wen and Yin Banshuang were gone! What had happened?

A large question mark appeared in front of Jin Ying's eyes. She was sure that the two had entered this tunnel. There were no other forks to choose from. In this situation where there was only one path, she could not have lost them. So where had the two of them gone?

She stood in the large underground tunnel and felt rather ridiculous. The two of them had disappeared into thin air.

Jin Ying searched in the underground tunnel carefully but did not find anything. She did not find any clues at all.

Rumble. The sound of the earth shaking could be heard behind her once again. The figure grew closer and closer and the shaking grew more and more intense. The Xuan Ming Shielded Tortoise was on its way back to its nest.

"Oh no!" Jin Ying's expression changed slightly. There was no other path here and it was almost impossible for her to go back the way she had come. If she encountered the tortoise, she would die for sure.

There was nowhere to run in the narrow underground tunnel.

The sound of the earth rumbling grew closer and closer. Jin Ying grew anxious. She must not meet the terrifying monstrous beast. The consequences would be disastrous.

Jin Ying's mind whirled. The steps of the Xuan Ming Shielded Tortoise grew closer and closer. A sense of dread arose in Jin Ying's heart.

She would definitely die if she were to turn back, but there was nowhere to go in front of her. She felt like crying but had no tears. Jin Ying felt as if she had gambled with her life and had suffered a major loss. There was no other way to describe her feelings.

"Mo Wen that b*stard, he's got me killed." Jin Ying gritted her teeth. She was putting the blame on Mo Wen now. If it hadn't been for him and Yin Banshuang behaving so furtively, she would never have grown so curious and she wouldn't be trapped in this godforsaken place.

Suddenly, Jin Ying's gaze fixed on the middle of the pool. There was nowhere to hide at all in the underground tunnel. There was only the pool. Perhaps she could hide there for a while.

Once the thought struck her, she did not seem to hesitate at all before jumping into the pool.

Jin Ying believed that she was jumping into the water. However, that had not happened. She did not feel as if she was jumping into water and she could not sense the existence of water. She only felt the space around her twist. She could not see anything and everything was blurred in front of her. She was suddenly plunged into darkness.

When light appeared in front of her eyes again, Jin Ying found that she was standing in a valley.

The valley was not large but was surrounded by mountain chains. It looked ancient. The rock, the blade of grass, the tree, they all emitted an aura that made them feel ancient.

"What is this place?" Jin Ying was shocked. Hadn't she just jumped into the pool? How had she appeared in a place like this?

It was a Door of Space! It took Jin Ying a while to realize what must have happened. That was not a pool. It was a Door of Space that connected two different spaces!

"So those two were aiming to get to this place." Jin Ying finally understood why Mo Wen and Yin Banshuang had suddenly gone missing. They must have arrived in this space.

"Where is this?" Jin Ying looked at her surroundings somewhat bewilderedly. This space should not be an inner world. It looked like a fragment of space. It appeared big and was no different from a world but it should not be very big.

In order to prove her theory, Jin Ying immediately flew up and into a random direction.

The gravitational pull of this space was not much different from that of the main space. It was weaker than the inner worlds like the Green Ancient Mystery Dimension and Floating Mystery Dimension. The flying speed of Golden Elixir realm practitioners increased several times over in a space like this. Jin Ying flew several dozen miles in just a moment.

"Indeed." After flying for 30 miles, Jin Ying discovered that the surrounding area had suddenly grown darker. All was dark in front of her and she could not see what was below her. There was nowhere to go and there was nothing around her at all. It was like a black cloth that stretched between heaven and earth had cut off the world completely.

Jin Ying did not continue flying in the direction she had been headed because she knew that she would definitely die if she flew past the black curtains with her current abilities.

That was the edge of the space fragment. And outside of the edge was a space storm. Even immortal cultivators would find it difficult to survive if they were sucked into the space storm.

"It is indeed a space fragment. Its radius cannot be more than a hundred kilometers. It is indeed curious how such a small space fragment can exist with such stability!"

The smaller the space fragment, the easier it was for it to collapse. It was almost impossible for such a small space fragment to exist for too long.

Why had the two of them expended so much effort to come here?"

A flash of interest was visible in Jin Ying's eyes. She was growing more and more interested in the motives of those two. She was almost certain that their motives were not simple.

Meanwhile, Mo Wen and Yin Banshuang were investigating the place they had reached.

"The Vital Qi is in this space? Mo Wen looked around him with a smidge of surprise in his eyes. He had not expected Yin Banshuang would take him to this space fragment and that it would be so small. It was much smaller than the sacred grounds of the Dafang Sect.

A sense of impending danger could be felt in his subconsciousness. He knew that such a small space fragment could easily collapse. Once it collapsed, every person and object in it would perish completely.

"The Vital Qi is in this space. And, if I tell you that I found not only vigor but also an immortal cultivator palace, would you be surprised?"

Yin Banshuang's lips curled up. The fact that she had managed to return to this place was clearly having a good effect on her mood.

"An immortal cultivator palace!" Mo Wen glanced at Yin Banshuang in shock. However, he was not completely surprised for it was normal for there to be traces of immortal cultivators in such a place.

"Yep, there's nothing else in this space except for an immortal cultivator palace that is in ruins. There might be many treasures inside it belonging to immortal cultivators. But don't think about it. Those items are definitely not fated to belong to us. We would be very lucky to get a little bit of Vital Qi."

Yin Banshuang nodded. She had been very surprised when she discovered life in this space. She thought she had found treasure, but in the end, because the space was too fragmented, spiritual power had long been lost. It could not nurture any treasure.

In fact, there wasn't even a ferocious beast in this space. It was completely lifeless.

The only thing noteworthy about this place was an old palace. However, that palace was too dangerous because it was littered with prohibitions and arrays left behind by immortal cultivators. Ordinary warriors would not be able to enter such a palace.

In the beginning, she had only looked at the palace from the outside and had almost died in an invisible trap.

She had wanted to back away from it then and did not even dare to entertain the idea of entering the palace.

However, she had, by coincidence, discovered a place that could generate Vital Qi.

The only problem was that the spot that could nurture Vital Qi was equally dangerous. She had not been able to obtain any Vital Qi with her level of ability.

With Yin Banshuang leading the way, they did not have to search at all. The massive palace appeared before the two of them in a short while.

The building was massive and one could not see where it ended because its ends were shrouded in a darkness that draped down from heaven to earth. It seemed to be blocking an entire world.

That was the edge of the space fragment. It was evident that a large part of the palace had disappeared in the space storm, leaving behind a small portion that was in ruins. However, even that one small portion of it was still massive. There were so many buildings that one could not count them.

Mo Wen gave it a cursory glance and could clearly sense that he would not be able to barge into the palace with his current abilities. He would definitely die if he did so.

Yin Banshuang might not be able to sense it clearly, but she could sense the danger subconsciously. However, Mo Wen could clearly sense that the palace was filled with chaotic force. The force was twisted together in a tangled mass together with the space storm, forming an odd balance. That was why the small space fragment had not collapsed.

Even a Primordial Soul realm immortal cultivator would only stare at it wide-eyed and not dare to enter.

Only the extremely powerful in the immortal cultivation world would dare to enter. Otherwise, if one was not careful, they might be embroiled in the space storm. That would be terrifying.

There was a garden in front of the palace. The garden was barren and there were weeds growing everywhere. There was nothing there that had any spiritual energy.

However, Mo Wen could sense that the garden had not been so simple and undeveloped in the past. He could clearly sense that there were still many traps in the garden. There were strong and weak traps, but each and every one of them was dangerous.

After Mo Wen had cultivated in the Divine Soul Trillion Layers, he gained many abilities that only immortal cultivators possessed. This included the ability to sense traps, which was why he could sense so many of them. However, he could definitely only sense a small part with his ability. He could not sense all of the traps in the garden and so had to be wary. It was possible that he could become a victim of a trap that he did not even realize was there. If that happened, he could well die.
