Chapter 33 - Easy

"I'm home" Leo yelled once he entered his house.

Without delay, he made his way to the living room. In the living room, his father was reading the newspaper and his mother was in the kitchen humming an unknown song while preparing food.

Looking at his mother, Leo thought her attitude was a little strange. If it were a normal day, his mother would make a simple dinner or order the dinner at the usual restaurant since she did not like to cook and she wasn't good at cooking either.

"Welcome back" Satomi greeted with a smile.

"Ah ... hello, mom" Leo returned the greeting rigidly.

Looking at his mother who continued what she was doing, Leo walked towards his father.

"What's wrong with mom? she doesn't normally like that" Leo asked.

"Oh… nothing happens, it seems like she had a good day. By the way, how was the trip? I hope you will not forget the promise with your mother, if you forgot her, she will get very angry" Suezo reminded Leo. If Satomi got mad at Leo, sooner or later her anger would come to him.

"Nice"

"And?"

"Of course, I did not forget it, I am a very obedient son." Leo joked. Although most of the time he was in the underworld was spent studying magic, he spends a bit of his time studying Japanese.

"Also, her Japanese is not that good so I'm sure she won't want to compete with me" Leo puffed out his ċhėst with pride.

His mother was a foreigner, so naturally, her Japanese was not that good. Sometimes Leo even joked about this with his mother but stopped doing it after he had to prepare his food for a week.

'What parents in their right mind would let their 9-year-old son cook for himself?' Leo mentally complained after he remembered what happened that day. Although he complained a lot about his parent's attitude, the main culprit was himself.

"As long as you don't make her angry, that's fine" Suezo nodded satisfied.

Listening to his father, Leo couldn't help but shake his head. This was his father, the typical Japanese who only cared about living calmy but still struggled to be a good father and to please his mother.

But still, Leo kept wondering how it was that he managed to conquer his mother, he just had to take a look at his mother to notice the incongruity, blue eyes, pale white skin and blonde hair the appearance of any man's dream woman. But with his mother's personality being somewhat "intense" it would be difficult for her to find someone as receptive as his father.

'Their relationship is perfectly balanced, as everything should be,' Leo thought to himself as he looked at his mother who was carrying a large pot.

Smiling, he hurried to help his mother.

"Are you thinking of stealing the chicken from me?" Suezo asked with narrowed eyes after Leo left the pot on the table and watched as he quickly picked up his plate and tried to serve himself.

"Of course not, I'm serving you" Leo replied quickly as he increased the speed of his movements.

Noticing his movements, Suezo hurried to stop Leo.

"Don't worry son, you just returned from a long journey, let me pamper you a little" Suezo smiled warmly.

Leo looked at his father and his smile twitch. Father and son did not need to exchange more words or look at the other dishes of food prepared by Satomi, they knew what the other thought.

'The Chicken is the only edible thing'

Looking at the duo, Satomi smiled brightly and nodded in satisfaction.

"Maybe I'll prepare bear meat for the next one," Satomi muttered under her breath.

Leo: 'I think it's time to go back to the underworld'

Suezo: 'It seems that I will have to do extra hours' (|¯| _ |¯|)

Over the next few days, Leo continued his normal routine of going to school and practicing his spells and when the weekend came he took a break from his daily practice and decided to spend a little time with his family although his family plans did not go as he thought

"Sigh" Leo sighed with boredom. Since it was the weekend, he thought his parents would stay home but to his dismay, they headed to a party with their friends.

Slowly emerging from the kotatsu, Leo shuddered as a shiver ran through his body.

"I'm feeling cold" Leo muttered and went to the closet to pick up a blanket. Winter has just started and it was colder than normal and although it was physically strong it was not immune to the cold.

After picking up the blanket, Leo went to his desk and picked up two pieces of paper. Holding the papers carefully, he returned to the kotatsu.

"Who should I invoke?" Leo muttered to himself before the image of a certain girl passed through his mind.

*Flash

Accompanied by a flash, a magic circle appeared where the paper was, revealing a Sona with her usual expressionless face.

"Hello, Leo-san" Sona gave a simple greeting.

"You shouldn't say something like" I'm here to fulfill your deepest wishes "that would be a great entry" Leo joked before returning to the kotatsu.

"It is not my style to say such strange things," Sona replied seriously, it was too much for her to say those embarrassing lines.

Leo did not continue his mockery and motioned for Sona to enter the kotatsu.

"Now why have you invoked me?" Sona asked as she settled into the kotatsu.

"I was bored ..." Leo said resting his chin on his hands.

"I imagined it." Sona sighed trying to understand Leo's thought process.

"What do you want me to do? Besides going to school and studying some spells, I have nothing else to do. Now that I remember, how's Tsubaki?"

"She's fine. She can now socialize with me normally though strangers are still too much for her."

"At least she tries and that's what matters" Leo smiled as the image from a scared Tsubaki image flashed through his mind.

"Hm," Sona nodded in agreement.

"Well, if you have no intention of forming a contract, I will have to go." Since Sona knew that Leo would want nothing, she decided not to waste time and continue with her affairs.

"Hey? How cruel you are Sona. " Leo complained and took out a box from a drawer that was located at the bottom of the Kotatsu.

"You don't have to hurry up. don't go yet and play a game with me," Leo proposed when he opened the box and took out several chess pieces, setting the pieces aside on the table and opening the box further to take the shape of a chessboard and unhurriedly, he proceeded to put the chess pieces in place.

"Are you sure you just want to play chess with me?" Sona asked uncertainly.

"At the moment, I can't think of asking for anything else. By the way, what would the cost be? "

"I don't know" Sona answered frankly.

"Eh?" Leo exclaimed in amazement.

"You are the first person with I make a contract so, I am not sure what the contract payment would be. I'll think of something while we play "

"Hmm, aren't you being too arrogant?" I may not be a genius but I'm sure I have a chance to beat you" Leo said smugly.

Sona only smiled and did not reply.

With all the time in the world, the duo completely relaxed and they played relaxed without restrictions. Well… Sona was quite relaxed, but Leo didn't share the same feeling.

"15 losses - 0 victories" Sona gave a brief count of the games and the result was simple. A crushing defeat for Leo.

"The next time I want to play against you, remind me I should never do it again," Leo said the moment he heard Sona. At first, he thought he had a chance to win against Sona but after the first three losses, he realized the difference between the two.

"Don't worry, I'll remind you," Sona replied with a smile. "Oh wait a minute Leo-san" When she finished speaking, a magic circle appeared in her ear.

Leo simply nodded silently and turned his attention to the chessboard on the table. He had to find out why he lost.

"Leo-san, say hi," Sona exclaimed suddenly.

"Huh?" Leo exclaimed curiously and as soon as he looked at Sona, he froze.

"Rias, Akeno. What is the reason for the call? " Leo asked when he noticed a transmission circle in Sona's hand where Rias and Akeno could be seen.

"It turns out that Rias came with Lucifer-sama to the human world and wanted to brag but she didn't expect me to be in the human world," Sona summed up her conversation with Rias.

"Cough... That was not my intention Sona, I was just trying to convey my joy with you" Rias coughed awkwardly.

"What more macabre intentions" Leo stared at Rias and scoffed.

Unable to hide her embarrassment, Rias avoided eye contact with Leo.

"Hmph, forget it," Rias said a little annoyed and continued. "Sona, since we are both in the human world. Why don't you come with me to visit the human world together? " Rias proposed with a smile.

"Hmm, not a bad idea, but where are you?" Sona posed a big problem.

"Wait a minute," Rias said and quickly sent her location to Sona.

Looking at the map with Rias's location, Sona looked at Leo and said, "Leo-san, you know where is this place?"

Leo looked at the map for a moment before taking out his phone and searching for the location.

"It seems like it's not too far. It's a 30-minute trip if you fly to the place" Leo said after checking the location online and casually the location happened to be close to his home.

'What was it that drew Serafall and Sirzechs to this place?' Leo thought.

"You already heard Rias"

"Yes, I will be waiting for you. Don't take too long."Once Rias finished speaking, the transmission circle instantly disappeared.

With everything planned, Sona quickly went to the window and called Leo: "Leo-san, come on. If we don't hurry, we'll be late"

"Wait, when did I agree to go with you??" Leo asked.

"Since you agreed to play chess with you. Don't worry if you can't fly, I can carry you and before you say anything else, I'm stronger than I seem," Sona said as she flexed her right arm.

"It is not necessary," Leo said with a smile when two wings of dark matter appeared on his back.

Looking at the sudden wings that appeared on Leo's back, Sona's mouth formed a large O but noticing that Leo was going to come out, Sona hastily stopped him. "What do you think you're doing? if you go out like this, it will be chaos" When she finished speaking, she quickly moved her hand and a cloak wrapped them both.

Leo was going to tell him that he had already used magic to hide his presence but decided not to.

Once Sona was certain that the spell was complete, the duo left for Rias's location.
