Chapter 107

If there were no backlog of documents, he would be able to sleep or stay by her side. Elysia quickly turned around and glanced at the papers on his desk.

“I think I can do this and this for you.”

While she was digging through the papers she could handle on his behalf, Cassian took all the papers away.

“I’ve taken care of everything that’s really urgent. I can do this slowly.”

Nothing seemed too important to her either. Even though she felt like she was being deceived, as Cassian kissed her again and again, Elysia let it go again. She was dissatisfied with him kissing her lightly, so she wrapped her arms around his neck and pulled him.

The corners of her mouth rose at the pleasant sound of laughter though it both fell at the same time with clicking tongues.

“What’s wrong? Continue.”

It was Hail.

It wasn’t the first time he suddenly appeared out of nowhere. Fortunately, they got a promise that he would never come into the bedroom. Seeing Hail with a gloomy expression as if it was a pity that the fun viewing was over, veins popped out of her forehead. Meanwhile, Cassian sighed and ruffled his hair.

Elysia clenched her teeth and looked at Hail.

“Aren’t you going back? Go away.”

“Then, let’s make a contract.”

An unhappy grunt continued.

“Contract?”

Cassian looked at her as if hearing it for the first time.

Looking at his expression, Elysia tilted her head and wondered if she hadn’t said anything to him. Thinking about it, she didn’t seem to have told him yet. Before she hurried to pour her magic into her ring to get them to the bedroom, before Hail could say anything more, she was stopped by a knock.

“Your Excellency. It’s Lloyd.”

Elysia beckoned Hail to stand on his two feet. Well, why would he show anyone he was floating around?

“Come in.”

Saying so, she stood up from Cassian’s lap as Lloyd opened the door to the office and entered with an urgent face.

“Your Excellency! The Second Prince and Lady Aiden are dead.”

Cassian raised an eyebrow.

“It was a murder, but no traces were left. There doesn’t seem to be a problem with—Your Excellency…?”

Elysia and Cassian’s gazes turned to Hail at the same time. In the first place, they had already expected that Rania would die at Hail’s hands.

But, why Peloit too…?

“Did I do well?”

Hail pushed his head in as if begging to be stroked with a bright expression. Elysia resisted the urge to slap him on the head, and she grabbed him by the back of his neck.

“Then, Cassian, you can… work.”

Grabbing Hail’s collar, she left the office as if dragging him along.

It was the result of Hail’s hand that made Cassian busy.

Elysia, who dragged him into the tea room next to her bedroom, sighed at Hail, who looked like he was so proud.

“She would be dead anyway.”

Hearing those words, she roughly affirmed and sat down on the chair. She didn’t want to talk to him now. In the first place, human procedures were not important to him. So, it would have been no surprise that Cassian was in trouble because of Peloit and Rania’s death.

“Let’s make a contract.”

Contract.

Elysia felt that Der wasn’t the only reason Hail was desperate for a contract with her. After all, she was not human, and she had no desire to return to her original world after meeting Cassian. In a situation like this, there was no reason to do favors for her simply by feeling sorry for her.

Elysia motioned him to come closer.

She used her seduction while making eye contact with him. While she didn’t expect it to work, she wondered if she could find out why.

It was mind-manipulating magic. It wouldn’t work anyway.

“Wow, honey. Keep doing this, I feel great.”

Elysia groaned and clicked her tongue at his words. She knew it wouldn’t work. Since he was like this, she had no choice but to ask directly. Opening her mouth, she stared at Hail, blinking his eyes at her like a dog wagging its tail.

“I’m not signing a contract with you. Never.”

“…Why? It’s going to solve your problems.”

She did not know what kind of solution he would have, so she could not readily answer that she would sign a contract.

In fact, it was a huge temptation, but wasn’t it still discomfiting? It was more so because she knew Rania and Hail’s contract. He would take their soul if they didn’t pay the price straight, and he took their lives.

Nevertheless, the suggestion that he could solve Cassian and her problems were a little tempting.

“What can you do for me? Can Cassian live forever?”

“No.”

“Then, can you turn me into a human?”

“No…”

“Then, what on earth is the problem that you will solve?”

Elysia did not know what Hail was talking about by her and Cassian’s problems. According to his standards, his concerns may be different from theirs.

In fact, in a way, it wasn’t much of a concern. As she concluded, spending time with him in this lifetime would not be enough. Not having children wasn’t a matter that she was okay with herself, though that took a bit of time.

However, Hail looked like he did not know why she was worried about such things.

“Honey, do you want to be human?”

Elysia did not answer right away, and she was silent. She used to… So, after realizing that she loved Cassian, it felt like it was wrong for her to be a vampire, so she denied herself, but not now.

“Can you do that?”

“No.”

Then, why did he ask?

“Then, can we have children normally?”

“…I don’t know what the standard for normalcy is.”

It was not possible. She had already come to that conclusion. Even though she didn’t know if there was a way to use magic or something to have children, however, first of all, she couldn’t have human children. And, that wasn’t something Hail could do.

“Can I tell you one thing?”

Elysia looked at him, waiting for his answer.

“Honey, I can’t make your man a vampire. Our blood is too thick.”

Perhaps because he had read Cassian’s memories, he knew a lot of things that were useless.

Could he even know such a thing just by looking at her body? It was something that could not be understood with common sense. Perhaps, he had been through something like that once or twice in this world…?

Still, Hail repeated those words for her to sign a contract, and in the end, the conversation on the day became fuzzy.

“There are really no quiet days around you.”

Elysia nodded her head at Ramote’s words. It was because she thought so too. Though now, if she went back to Hail, it might be a little quieter.

“Where is that demon?”

“I don’t know. I can’t see him today.”

“The terms aren’t bad, but why are you reluctant to sign a contract?”

“Just… Is it because the conditions are too good?”

Elysia thought it was too favorable for her. Furthermore, it was because of Der. She was not very happy with the fact that she had to face Hail every ten years.

Ramote shrugged his neck, seemingly contemplating something before eventually opening his mouth.

“I know the demon called Hail because I have met him.”

“When? At the agreement…?”

Ramote nodded his head.

“I don’t think he was going to do a favor for no reason, as you said, and I think you should do something.”

“What do you mean?”

“It’s strange to say without knowing a price.”

He wasn’t giving her an explanation. It seemed that he was organizing it on his own, and he said he would tell her when his thoughts were put together.

“Are you talking about me?”

“Ah… that scared me.”

Elysia frowned and pushed Hail away. Then, he naturally sat down next to her and glanced at Ramote.

“Wizard. You were still alive.”

Hail waved at Ramote.

“…You are still here. You had an accident.”

“Should I take that from you? No fear at all.”

Hail looked at Ramote with a sarcastic look as if he didn’t like his words.

“Why don’t you come back?”

“Hey, is she your disciple?”

Hail ignored his words and pointed at him with his finger. At that, Ramote took off his glasses in response to the conversation and pressed his forehead firmly.

“Does it bother you that I am here?”

At Hail’s words, Elysia tilted her head.

‘What else does that mean…?’

“Do not read it.”

“How can I not read it?”

Ramote stared at Hail and thought that he had a headache.

“Do you have to read it?”

“Even though you’re that old, you still can’t hide your thoughts. No progress at all.”

At those words, a tendon sprouted from Ramote’s forehead.

“Since you made such a mistake, you are not afraid to go back.”

“Ha— Me? It’s all for your disciple’s good.”

Elysia looked at them arguing with a slightly curious face. It was the first time that Ramote had looked so troubled. Suddenly, Hail, who was putting his legs on the table in a shaky posture, looked at her with a grin.

“He’s in a bad mood, so please deal with it, darling.”

Ignoring Hail, she thought back at their conversation a while ago. If it was true that he made a mistake and he was reluctant to go back because of that mistake…

“What was your mistake? Of bringing me here?”

Hail paused. As expected, there was something, so that was why he kept insisting on a contract with her.

“Oh, I really should have signed the contract yesterday.”

Hail ruffled his hair and muttered angrily.

She finally found out why he was insisting on the contract.

The disciplinary action after bringing in a being who did not exist in this world. In addition, she said she would stay here, so he couldn’t force her back. Instead, if he gave her something satisfactory or signed a contract, the crime would be reduced.

Although Elysia didn’t know why, they seemed to have their own rules. Meanwhile, Ramote, who had been waiting for the story to end, seemed to have a question. He turned to Hail.

“By the way, is there a case where she can use black magic and white magic at the same time?”

“Are you talking about her?”

“Right.”

“Because she’s not human.”

Elysia had doubts there.

“Is anyone like that once they’re not human?”

“No, you are special. You’re fine with using black magic at the cost of human life force. You can do anything we do.”

She didn’t even know why it was special. Elysia wanted to see if she could really believe what he said, and she sighed.

Seeing Ramote silently nodding his head, she thought it was true. Nonetheless, it was a pity. She then wondered if something like this would happen if she could do everything the demons could do, so she asked Hail.

“To summon someone from another dimension?”

“No way. There are very few people who can do that in the Demon Realm—something like our magic.”

Hail groaned, boasting his greatness.

Despite the long, friendly explanation that was unlike Heil, Elysia felt that she was losing interest, and she replied bluntly.

“Then, it’s useless.”

“Will you take it and decide? You will change your mind.”

Hail smiled and grabbed her wrist, and he gestured for her to stand up. A cool sensation rushed through his cold hands that didn’t even feel warm.
