“Listen carefully to what I say from now on. Nisephor will be completed in the next ten years.” Gerald declared.

His voice was eerily cold. It was different from the child, Gerald, who spoke with honorifics yesterday.

“It’s . . .”

“It’s a little different from the decade that Louella said.”

Gerald put an envelope on the desk. He nodded as Billiers’s stared at the envelope on the table.

Billiers swallowed in suspense and took a bunch of papers out of the envelope. Then, looking at Gerald, he began to read the papers.

“Oh my god!” Billiers cried. “This is . . .”!

Billiers raised his head. Gerald nodded slowly as he looked into Billiers’s eyes with astonishment.

Gerald had completed the Nisephor drug. Several tests on patients infected with Nisephor were conducted and it was proved to be an effective cure.

Then, the next thing they had to do was receive applicants and ask them to take it themselves.

Gerald had really created a drug to treat Nisephor.

Down the secret passageway inside the office was a lab for Gerald. He used to be up there all night.

“It’s Nisephor’s medicine. The effect has been proven.”

“I’ve never heard of it! How did the experiment go?”

Gerald laughed coldly. “Do I have to feed them one by one?”

“Hm.”

Billiers blushed and bowed his head.

“The decade that Louella was talking about was that you had to take a drug through your research. But I’m saying it has to happen approximately in ten years. We have to control the timeframe with it.”

“Why does it have to be in ten years when you’ve already announced it to me right away?”

“It needs to look as though the medicine was made by you and Louella through research.”

Gerald could not reveal the fact that he had returned, or the truth about the past. It was against the contract.

So he decided that he was going to keep up with Louella’s speed. Louella said ten years because she thought that she wouldn’t be seeing the completion of the drug right away.

Gerald was going to give Louella the answer he received.

Billiers swallowed when he saw Gerald’s heavy expression. He had a strange face that he couldn’t even decipher. He didn’t know what to ask.

“What I want is for Louella to have the drug in her hands if she wants to. Do you understand me?”

“Yes, I understand. What can I call you?”

“We will probably never see each other like this again. So you can call me Gerald as you always do.”

“Yes…”

It was so heartbreaking to be comfortable with someone who was not a boy, but an adult, and not a small man, but a Duke. Billiers had already sensed it in his aura.

But Gerald didn’t seem to be very interested in that part.

“. . . Then the note . . .”

Gerald glanced at Billiers and smirked.

“I sent it. I didn’t expect you to reveal it in front of us like that. I wouldn’t be here today if you hadn’t brought it in and revealed it.”

It appeared that he didn’t expect Billiers to be so naive.

Usually, researchers hide their cluse. It was to hog the ball alone. Or because they might expose their research to others.

However, Billiers showed exactly what he received as to how he accepted Louella and Gerald. He respected the two children like that.

They could not rule out the possibility that Louella would recognize Gerald’s handwriting. That’s why he came here.

“I thought it was from Louella at first. I can’t remember who did it. That kind of magic isn’t something anyone can do . . . It’s something that belonged to the most unusual figure I can think of.”

At that moment, Gerald’s head fluttered.

There was a gust of wind around Gerald. Gerald raised his right hand and a small flame blossomed on it.

It was flaming up.

The flames spat out the yellow parchment. It fluttered and fell on the floor.

Billiers looked at Gerald and picked it up.

“!”

It was the same paper Gerald had. It said ‘mana stone’.

“Nobody should know about this.”

“Yes, yes!” Billiers answered.

“If you don’t keep your promise, next time my magic will be directed at you.”

Billiers gripped his neck unconsciously and bowed his head.

“Yes!”

Magic based on time.

Under his contract with magic, Gerald was unable to reveal his secret. And it was better not to be caught by others.

Knowing the future was bound to cause a lot of confusion.

People will wonder.

Who dies, and who gains power. Where one would find the ore, and what happens after that. Other than that, people would definitely want things that would benefit someone.

It was something that could stir up social confusion.

So those who used time magic were not supposed to reveal any secrets for generations.

Gerald stepped down from his chair. Gerald was also uncomfortable with a body that had not yet grown.

Gerald exchanged brief courtesies with Billiers and left the lab.
