The town was in huge furor. 

Ancient dragon. This guy sometimes came to the human settlement, attacking the citizens of this town and causing a lot of damage. The gratitude of the citizens of this town toward us who had defeated the ancient dragon was endless. They felt like they couldn’t thank us enough. 

“Oi, oi! Come on, you guys! Make some noise!!”

“OOOHHH!!”

The people who were responsible for dismantling the dragon were excitedly approaching the ancient dragon corpse while brandishing their specialized tools. The people who were working as a dismantler from the neighboring town also came here to help. 

“Thank you very much!”

“I will raise your rank to Copper Class. Actually I wanted to raise you to Mithril Class but because of the rules, I’m only allowed to raise your rank to Copper Class only.”

If I’m not wrong, I heard you can only raise an adventurer’s rank by two?

“Here’s the request reward!”

The adventurers’ guild was able to properly pay us the request’s reward for subjugating the ancient dragon. If we included the money we could get from selling the materials from the ancient dragon, we could live comfortably without needing to work for a while. 

“Well… I already knew the two of you could do it! I have my faith in you two after all!”

The receptionist, who had said ‘absolutely impossible’ to us and had tried to prevent us from taking the request, was now changing her attitude dramatically.

………….There’s no need to be that concerned, you know? I mean, it’s only natural for anyone to stop an Iron Class adventurer from trying to defeat an ancient dragon…..

“Everyone!”

I raised my voice to address all of the adventurers in the guild. 

“Today is a celebration! Drink and eat all you want! Everything’s on my tab!”

“UWOHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!”

The adventurers cheered upon hearing my declaration. 

“Receptionist-san, please deduct the request reward with the cost of food and drink everyone has today.”

“Ye-Yes!”

The amount of money we received as a reward for subjugating the ancient dragon was enormous. Even if we paid for everyone’s food and drink today, it still wouldn’t be able to reach 1/10 of the reward money. I had used my magic to freeze everyone here before so this was my way of apologizing to them. 

“Then Alaine. Shall we head to the inn?”

“Hm. Let’s go.”

Alaine nodded her head at my suggestion.

“Huh? You’re not going to drink?”

“Ahahaha. Yeah. I’m good.”

“I will go with Zero.”

“With that being said, bye now. I will come tomorrow to get the request’s money.”

“Yes. We’ll be waiting for you tomorrow then.”

The receptionist nodded at my words. 

“Which inn would you like to stay at? Expensive places are good but cheap places are good too. Cheap places make me really feel the thrill of going on a journey.”

“I will leave the decision to Zero.”

“Okay. Then…”

We walked around the town, searching for a place to celebrate.
