44 Anger

I push my magic into the walls and watch as everything slowly starts repairing itself as my anger slowly starts to build. Binx walks down the hall and stops by the couch without a word as everything fixes itself. Xander watches everything with wide eyes but he doesn't say a word as everything goes back into place.

Once done, I remove my hand and walk into the kitchen. I turn on my coffee maker and stand there, staring at it like it has all the answers to my questions. Xander looks around at everything, feeling at a loss as he sits silently at the table.

Yeah, I'm prickly and bitchy. I'm a difficult person and if confuses me when he continues to hang around me like this. I pour us both a cup before walking over to the table. I hand him a cup and sit down with my own, sipping on it in silence as I look out the window.

He looks at the coffee before looking back to me and asking "How does it taste?" I shrug and say "Fine" as I take another sip. He pushes his cup over to me and I look down to find that it's just water. I frown and look at my coffee to see that it too is just hot water.

I guess I forgot to add the coffee... I sigh and up the cup down as Xander says "Let me help. I know you're going after them... I want to help." My eyes meet his as I say "They used magic to kill her... magic I couldn't overcome."

He grits his teeth as he says "We will kill them. All of them." My eyes begin to water as I say "I want them all to suffer." He reaches across the table and takes my hand as he says "Then I will make them all suffer."

The house begins to shake in anger as Binx jumps up on the counter saying "We will make them all suffer for touching what belongs to us." I quickly wipe my tears as I nod and say "They made a fatal mistake in killing my mother... and now they have my father and brother."

Xander's eyes darken as he asks "When did they take your father and brother?" Binx clears his throat and says "Why do we keep saying 'they'? It was one person that came that night... one individual."

I slowly shake my head as I say "Something tells me it isn't just one person. They aren't acting alone." Xander nods and says "It feels like we're missing something." I look to him and pull my hand back as I say "What you say is true. We're overlooking something..."

"Demons... every time I was attacked, it was someone who was possessed. Who has the closest ties with demons?" I ask tapping my hot cup of water. Xander frowns and says "You've been attacked more than once by demons? Why didn't you tell me??"

I wave him off and say "That's not important " He looks at me in disbelief and sighs as he says "Witches. Witches have been known to work hand in hand with demons. Other than them, none of the other supernaturals want anything to do with demons."

I point at myself and frown as I say "I don't work hand in hand with demons. I avoid them at all costs!" Xander rolls his eyes and says "You aren't like other witches." I pause and think about what he says and it makes sense.

"The witches were the first to start disappearing though," I say with a frown. Xander nods and asks "Is there a coven who hasn't lost any witches?" My frown instantly disappears as I walk to my room. I pull out the map and spread it out on my bed, looking at all the deaths.

"Black Widows... It's the only coven who hasn't reported any missing or dead witches." I say looking at everything again like I'm the world's biggest idiot. Xander nods and says "Then that's where we need to start." I nod and say "I'll be out once I'm dressed."

Xander nods and takes the map with him as he and Binx leave. I quickly get dressed and load up on a few weapons before walking out to find Xander waiting for me in the living room. Binx sits on the couch saying "Call me if anything happens." I nod to him and walk out with Xander.

As we're driving over to the coven, I turn to Xander and say "Thank you... for everything." Xander gives me a small smile and says "No matter what, I'm here for you. I'm just sorry I couldn't..." I shake my head and look back out the window, not wanting to go there. It wasn't his fault... it was mine.

As we pull up to the coven gates, we get out and hit the call button. After a few seconds, a female voice asks "How can I help you?" I gently push Xander back and say "My name is Eris Hallows and I have a few questions I'd like to ask your high priestess."

It's silent for several seconds before another voice comes on to say "Welcome, Hallows." The large black gates open up, allowing Xander and I to walk in. When we finally reach the large house, a tall woman in a long black dress stands in front of the door with two other women standing behind her.

Her long black hair blends into her black dress like they're one but what catches my eye is how pretty the woman is. She feels old but she looks like she's in her early twenties. As I walk up the steps, the two women behind her bow and say "Greetings"

I give them a small nod and look back to the woman in front and ask "Are you the high priestess?" She gives me a small smile and nods her head as she says "Please, come in." She turns around and glides into the large house like she's walking on air. It's either that or she's on a hover board...
