With only one day left until we reach Grandver, an Eagle discovers a magical beast approaching towards us.

(Ah! Madegarsh. It is coming straight at us.)

The distance between us was only a few kilometers or so. We were pretty close.

(What should I do? Will I be able to escape? I’m much faster than I was three years ago.)

I pondered about what I should do. If possible, I would like to escape without fighting because of the situation.

I think about whether I could escape from it or not.

(It’s been about three years since I last saw Madegarsh. I am much higher leveled and faster now, but I’m carrying Cecile on my back.)

With Dagraha out of sight, I don’t know where he’ll come from. I don’t want to take any chances.

“What’s wrong?”

I don’t seem to be very good at poker faces or maybe Cecile’s intuition was sharp. She noticed something was strange about me.

“We’re being chased by the Madegarsh.”

“What?”

I told her that the Madegarsh is currently a few kilometers away and was running straight at us.

“It’s tough to be pursued by two parties in this situation, so I think it’s better to defeat Madegarsh and move on.”

I think that I can defeat Madegarsh even in this situation, so I want to defeat it and then move on.

“What? You can defeat Madegarsh?”

“I think I can do it. It’s not my first time.”

I have already verified Madegarsh strength roughly three years ago.

“All right then.”

Cecile knew that I was strong and thought that I would be able to defeat Madegarsh.

A few minutes later, Madegarsh was right in front of me and Cecile was staring at us from a considerable distance.

(All right, Cecile is safe. I should defeat this Madegarsh quickly.)

“Aaaaaaahhhh!”

The five-meter tall magical beast with a face like a mangy dog, an upper body made to look like a human, and a lower body of a wolf was right in front of me. The beast, which had lost one of its eyes, was grinning, as if it was happy to see me after a long time.

“Hey, Doggie, I don’t have much time. So, I will defeat you at once.”

I declared an instant kill to Madegarsh and summoned 20 Bears around it. They began to attack Madegarsh at once.

My strategy was quite simple. I was going to use the same method I used to defeat the Orc King and the Queen Armored Ant.

(Spyder’s [Spider Thread] is still not effective, I don’t see any speed reduction. I can’t let it kill all my Bears in vain. Brons, hold it down.)

Using my experience when I fought against B-rank magical beasts, the Orc King and Queen Armored Ant, I summoned four D-rank Stone Brons to hold it down from all sides. This way, it is easier for the attacks to hit and the Bears won’t die unnecessarily.

Still, one by one, Bears were being killed. In a dizzying array of Grimoire, I continued to summon Bears.

I ordered Bears to use their special skill [Crunch] on Madegarsh, causing blood to gush out from its entire body.

I also continued to throw Iron balls desperately towards it’s remaining left eye.

If possible, I want to destroy both eyes. Even if I die, Cecile might survive if it loses both eyes. However, even with my increased [Attack], I couldn’t hit Madegarsh’s eyes. Every time I threw a ball, it was easily dispelled by it’s hand.

(I would’ve already beaten an Orc King by now, but it is an advance B-rank, I guess. But it’s about time now.)

After about 10 minutes of attacking, I thought Madegarsh was about to be defeated.

Madegarsh, whose entire body was bleeding from the Bear’s attack leaped with all its might with the help of its hind legs.

“Aaaaaaah!”

“What?”

Zuuuuuuun!!!

I was throwing Iron balls and summoning Bears from dozens of meters away from Madegarsh to ensure my safety. Madegarsh, who had jumped from the ground, landed near me.

I ordered all of my summons who were surrounding Madegarsh a moment ago, towards me. But they won’t get back in time.

“Brons, come out.”

I had already prepared four Brons and was ready to summon them in case I was attacked.

Blasting away Bron, Madegarsh grabbed me. It tightened its grip on me like a vise.

(Seriously, Not in time?)

“Allen!!!”

Cecile, who was watching from far away, shouted loudly.

“It’s okay!”

I probably didn’t look very okay to Cecile though. While Madegarsh grabbed me with both hands, I continued to use <Create> and <Synthesis>. I strongly reminded Cecile, who was worried, to stay away from me.

Madegarsh, who was bleeding all over, couldn’t seem to stop grinning as it grabbed me with both hands. It smiled and slowly tightened its grip. It didn’t seem to want to kill me at once.

As Madegarsh tightened the grip, my bones crushed, and I coughed up blood, but I continued to endure while recovering my strength with [Grass of Life].

Then, after a few minutes of tightening its grip, it lifted my head as if to pinch it, and with a crunch, Madegarsh ate me.

The lower half of my body was eaten, and its canine teeth hit my stomach, splattering fresh blood.

Cecile dropped to her knees in the distance and whispered quietly, “Allen, it ate Allen. Everything is over.”

“I thought you ate something head first, but I guess you’re a tail first kind of guy.”

I talked if I were telling it about how to eat Thai food.

(It ate my lower half. Then here!)

I took the dagger that Dogora had given me out of <Inventory> and gripped it with all my might. I was still able to move freely, and with all the strength I had in my body, I thrust it into Madegarsh’s left eye.

“Aaaaaaaaaahhhhhhh!!!”

The water from Madegarsh’s eyes splashed around and it screamed in pain.

(Okay, I’ve crushed both of its eyes now. And)

As I twisted my arm further, I thrusted my dagger deeper into it’s eye until my whole arm went in. Even so, I didn’t stop putting strength into it.

“What’s the matter? Doggie, put some pressure on your mouth or I’m going to kill you!”

Madegarsh was in a painful situation, but it didn’t spit me out.

Madegarsh put pressure on its chin and tried to stop me.

“I am getting harder and harder, aren’t I? You didn’t kill me soon enough, now you’re gonna die.”

I was using <Create> and <Synthesis> at an incredible rate from the moment I was captured by Madegarsh. I was changing all of my summons in the Holder to D-rank Stone Bron.

Madegarsh used both of its hands to try to constrict me but I didn’t react to it and continued to push further into its eyeball.

In the midst of the attack and defense, I made 48 Stone D-rank cards that increased my [Strength] and [Endurance] by 20, raising my [Strength] to nearly 2000 and my [Endurance] to nearly 1500.

“Look, Doggie, status doesn’t lie.”

I don’t know the status of Madegarsh, it was unable to defeat Bron with a single blow. From that, I determined that its [Attack] was not as high as 2000 or 3000.

I decided that taking [Grass of Life] would be enough to stop it in that condition. I had prepared hundreds of [Grass of Life] when we were resting while running. I prepared them for Dagraha.

I checked my own stamina in the status column of my Grimoire, and used [Grass of Life] at the right time.

My dagger had already hit the bone at the base of Madegarsh’s eye and was slowly digging in. Even though the tip of the dagger stopped when it hit the bone, I continued to apply force. The bone in the base of its eye began to crack.

And…

“Aaaaaaahhh!”

The bone at the bottom of its eye cracked, and my dagger reached its brain. Madegarsh let out its loudest yell and collapsed on the ground. It spat me out, convulsing but eventually stopped moving.

“You have defeated one Madegarsh. You have acquired 82,000 Experience points.”

“Hmm, an unquestionable winner. Though my lower half is sticky.”

“Allen!”

Cecile came running up to me to check if I’m okay.

“Now, what shall we do?”

“What? Oh…”

Dagraha appeared in front of me and Cecile at this moment. Cecile noticed Dagraha’s presence.

“Haha, I finally found you…!!!”

(Mmm, he’s really angry.)

Dagraha was so angry that his voice trailed off.
