Lu Kang felt uncomfortable because Mo Liuxi reminded him of his boss.

There was only one Luosang in the entire world, but it would be a miracle for him to even find a girlfriend.

“You won’t understand it now. You will get it when you meet a girl who makes you want to make her a hot cup of milk in the middle of the night.” Lu Kang handed the thermos flask to Yan Su. He was holding onto a dessert. “I made this cake myself. It’s a little ugly, but I think it tastes fine. You can try it if you don’t mind.”

Yan Su was stunned. She didn’t want to embarrass Lu Kang so she accepted the cake. “Thank you, I didn’t know you made cakes as well.”

Lu Kang smiled. Before he could tell her that he only learned how to make it for her, Mo Liuxi interjected, “I know how to make cakes. It’s pretty easy. Assistant Lu’s cake looks like it can be improved upon. Can I taste it?”

Since he asked, Lu Kang could only force a smile and say, “You will have to ask Su. I’ve already given it to her.”

“We can all eat it together.” Yan Su tried to ease the situation. “The chicken wings as well.”

Mo Liuxi frowned. He didn’t like other people eating his chicken wings. He only gave them to Yan Su out of politeness.

Since she already offered, he wasn’t going to make a big fuss over it. He would tell her later that it was unacceptable.

Lu Kang was glad. It was wonderful to eat with Yan Su. He was just a little worried about Mo Liuxi.

After Mo Liuxi tasted the cake, he said, “Is this a cheesecake? The taste isn’t sharp enough, and the cake isn’t moist enough. You probably didn’t whisk the egg whites for long enough, or you didn’t smooth out the aluminum foil at the bottom.”

“Oh, alright, I’ll take note.” Lu Kang nodded his head politely.

Mo Liuxi proceeded to eat three-quarters of the cake before stopping and saying to Yan Su, “I’m done. Assistant Lu specially made this for you, so I shouldn’t finish the whole thing.”

Yan Su looked over at Lu Kang sympathetically. She thought, How could he leave just a bit for me when he knew that it wasn’t nice to do so?

“Well… Liuxi, aren’t you going back to bed?” Lu Kang asked.

He was hoping Mo Liuxi would make way for him and Yan Su to hang out. After all, it wasn’t easy for him to find time to date.

Mo Liuxi frowned. He thought about how he would be leaving the pair alone in the middle of the night if he left. Lu Kang was so desperate and thirsty, so how could he leave? Especially since Yan Su was dressed sexily, he might lose control and force himself on her.

Although he had no feelings for her, he thought he should look out for her as a good neighbor. Since she was his sister’s friend as well, he would need to take responsibility if anything happened to her. Men should be righteous like that.

Instead of leaving, Mo Liuxi found a topic to talk about. He asked, “How’s Xu Luosang? Why hasn’t she been to class recently?”

“She’s heavily pregnant,” Yan Su said. “Mr. Nian won’t let her out of the house unless it is an important class.”

“How about Nian Junting?” Mo Liuxi asked. “Is he treating her well? He hasn’t found a woman outside just because he is married now, has he?”

Lu Kang was about to have a breakdown. He thought, What kind of conversation is this?

Before they knew it, they carried on the awkward conversation until around 11 p.m. Yan Su was getting tired.

She was yawned and said, “It’s getting late. You two should head back soon. You guys can add each other on WeChat if you really want to continue talking.”

Mo Liuxi thought, Does he really want to be friends with me?”

He wasn’t interested in talking to that little brat, but he nodded his head since he didn’t want to impose on Yan Su.
