“Such a temperamental man.” Gao Lihua mumbled after Qiao Yu left, shutting the door after him. Still, she didn’t dare to say it out aloud. She then threw a dirty look at Shen Donglai on the bed and smirked. “Where was all the attitude you had been giving me when you talked to Qiao Yu?”

Shen Donglai looked at Gao Lihua coldly. “Shut up!” He didn’t look affected by Qiao Yu’s humiliation earlier, but in fact, he was seething with anger.

Seeing his reaction, Shen Tianlang realized that his cousin had nothing good to say about Shen Donglai. He couldn’t help but heave a sigh. “I see that we’re going to be driven apart, Cousin.”

Qiao Yu looked at him and said quietly, “They won’t affect us.”

“Glad to hear that!” Shen Tianlang grinned. “I went to Shengshi to talk to you the other day, but you didn’t see me. Were you with Ke?”

Darting a glance at Shen Tianlang, Qiao Yu frowned. “What are you getting at? If you think that she has put me up for this and stopped me from helping you, then you’re mistaken. There’s no need for her to do that.”

He hadn’t refused to help the Shen family because of something she said and he wouldn’t necessarily be upset if she nagged at him about it. He might be able to get closer to her if she needed something from him.

Shen Tianlang shook his head and before he knew it, he was smiling. He then said to Qiao Yu in a cheerful voice. “I might have my doubts before, but now, I’m convinced that you love her a lot because you trust her.” A businessman’s instinct was to suspect everything. However, Qiao Yu didn’t even blink when Shen Tianlang tried to raise his suspicion. If that wasn’t love, what was?

Qiao Yu glanced at Shen Tianlang, unperturbed. Of course, he trusted her. She was the woman he loved.

“My company needs me. I’m off,” Qiao Yu turned to leave.

Qiao Yu paused. Getting married? He shifted his gaze and kept his silence for a moment before giving the answer. “Yes.” He walked away after that.

Watching Qiao Yu from behind, Shen Tianlang smiled. He could never imagine his cousin actually in love with someone, but love struck when one least expected. The guy had fallen for a girl.

However, was Ke really the Ke he had known? The Shen family had been in such a chaotic state that Shen Tianlang was almost sure that Ke was behind it.
