Chapter 631 - Jin Yan, Where Are You?

After finishing his report, Chen Hong went out. On hearing the door shut, Xia Ning suddenly closed the book, stood up, and said to Qiao Yu, “It is not early now. I should leave too.”

Qiao Yu stopped signing and looked up at Xia Ning, “First, have lunch with me. Then I will ask Assistant Chen to send you back.”

“No,” Xia Ning walked to the bookshelf and put the book back. She looked at Qiao Yu, “I have an appointment with Wen Jing to go shopping. If we finish shopping early, I can go back home early.”

On hearing this, Qiao Yu can only nod, “Then remember to have your meal. I will ask Chen Hong to send you anywhere you want to go.”

“There is really no need. If other people recognize your car, scandals will erupt.” Xia Ning rejected him again.

Qiao Yu understood her and finally said, “Then I will send you there.”

Knowing that this was his bottom line, Xia Ning said nothing more and acquiesced.

The door of the chairman’s office suddenly opened. Standing in her own position, Chen Lin saw the good-looking man and woman walk out. She bent her head at once and dared not look at them again.

She would not make the same mistake for the second time.

Glancing at Chen Lin, Xia Ning curled her lips unnoticeably.

“Don’t you have a telephone meeting soon? You should stop here. I remember the way out.” Standing at the elevator lobby, Xia Ning looked at Qiao Yu, paused for a moment and said, “Remember to take a rest if you feel tired at work.”

Qiao Yu looked at her with gentleness in his eyes. He nodded, “Have a safe trip.”

Xia Ning nodded. Meanwhile, the elevator door opened. She immediately walked inside and waved to Qiao Yu.

Qiao Yu also waved to her and watched her until the elevator door closed.

Looking at the elevator’s changing number, Qiao Yu got nervous. After being silent for a while, he turned to walk to his office, indifferent and cold as usual.

Several assistants sitting outside watched the door of the chairman’s office close and instantly started to gossip.

“I bet you a hundred yuan that the boss likes Xia Ning.”

“Do you dare to be ambitious? I bet you ten thousand yuan.”

“Sister Chen, when you entered the office just now, what were the boss and Xia Ning doing?” An assistant asked Chen Lin.

Another assistant next to her immediately poked her arm and shook his head at her. It was an offensive question. The boss had just ordered Sister Chen to get out.

Chen Lin looked towards the assistant who asked her. The assistant bent her head at once, becoming so embarrassed that she wanted to dig a hole to hide in.

“Can we discuss the boss’s business?” Chen Lin looked at these assistants. “If you have time, concentrate on work. Anybody who spreads what happened today won’t need to come to work tomorrow.”

“Yes, Sister Chen,” The assistants said at once.

Chen Lin frowned and looked towards the elevator with a quick flash of emotion in her eyes.

Xia Ning went downstairs. As soon as she walked to the hall, a figure rushed to her and blocked her.

“Lemon, may I ask for your autograph?”

Xia Ning looked at the young woman before her and smiled, “Of course.” Xia Ning took the young woman’s paper and pen to sign her autograph.

This young woman was the receptionist who spoke in favor of Xia Ning. She looked at the words “SK Xia Ning” in her notebook in excitement, raised the notebook and showed it to her colleagues, “Wow! I got Lemon’s autograph. You guys can envy me!”

Glancing at the receptionist’s colleagues, Xia Ning found that they were apparently giving her the cold-shoulder. She smiled and walked out. Fans would always defend their idols no matter what.

Therefore, she did not worry about gossip. She believed that the secretary would stop the gossip for her.

Outside the Shengshi building, Xia Ning immediately brought out her cell phone to make a call, “Jin Yan, where are you?”
