“Of course Mummy calls Grandma Mum, just like Daddy. But your Mummy is shy.” Qiao Yu said suddenly. “Don’t ask so many questions. Take the medicine now. Are you trying to get away with this?’

Xia Ning turned around and darted a look at Qiao Yu. Who the heck is shy? And since when should she call his mother Mum? How shameless is he?

Qiao Yu turned to Xia Ning as well. He raised his eyebrows and did not talk. But his meaning was: If I don’t say so, how can we stop Enoch from asking questions? So she had to thank him for this.

Xia Ning was too lazy to bother with him. She turned around and said to Enoch. “Kids should not ask so many questions. Drink the medicine first.”

“Okay.” Enoch nodded.

Xia Ning fed him a spoon of medicine. Seeing Enoch trying so hard to swallow it, she felt a bit sorry too. She looked at Qiao Yu and asked, “What happened to Enoch? Why does he need herbal medicine for a cold?”

Qiao Yu looked into Xia Ning’s eyes and answered, “It’s been dry lately and he’s very heaty. Therefore, the doctor prescribed some herbal medicine.”

Xia Ning nodded and turned around to continue the feeding.

Enoch looked at Xia Ning without blinking. He would take any medicine that she fed him. He scrunched his tiny face because of the bitter medicine, but he never said anything. Xia Ning saw it and felt even sadder.

Qiao Yu stared at the mother and the son quietly with soft eyes.

Even Gao Wanhua started smiling. Their home had been too quiet and was in need of a young woman. And that woman could only be Enoch’s mother.

She darted a look at Qiao Yu and turned around to leave the room. At this moment, it was better to have the couple and the kid together.

After taking the medicine, Enoch was so tired. He kept his head low and looked spiritless.

“Mummy will go find you some candy. You won’t feel bitter after the candy.” Xia Ning said to Enoch gently. She wanted to stand up but her shirt was grabbed by a tiny hand.

Enoch stared at her with round eyes. His face was as if he wanted to say something.

“What?” Xia Ning looked at him and asked.

Enoch pouted a little and said to her with a wronged face, “Mummy, are you leaving?”

Xia Ning was surprised. She said at once, “No, I’m not leaving. I’m getting you some candy.”

“No, I don’t believe you!” Enoch’s clear voice sounded. He pouted even more and said angrily, “Last time, you said you were going to play with me, Mummy. And the next day you left. You didn’t want me…” Before he could finish, there were tears in his eyes.

Xia Ning knew he was talking about the last time when she moved. It was an abrupt leave that time. She did not expect him to remember so clearly and she felt very guilty.

Qiao Yu walked over and said to Enoch, “Your Mummy is not leaving! She will be with you for the next couple of days. You are a big boy now. Don’t cry!”

Xia Ning darted a look at Qiao Yu on the side. His face was a bit serious, looking like a strict father. He was completely different now as a father compared to when he was still in school. But the person now seemed to be more attractive.

Qiao Yu suddenly looked over. “He would only believe it when you say so.”

Xia Ning returned to herself and felt a bit awkward. She looked at Enoch and comforted him at once. “It’s my bad last time. This time, Mummy will stay with you for a few days.” The second these words were said, she regretted it. She could stay in S City for two days top. The crew was waiting for her. So did she fall for a honey trap just now? Thinking of this, she felt uncomfortable.
