Chapter 298 - Talks

After the incident died down, more laws were created to prevent the same thing from happening again. Of course, that doesn't mean that no one is still doing it, they are just good at hiding their tracks.

And about the former guild leader of Illusionaire, let's just say he had disappeared when he had overstepped his boundaries when he was just a leader of a guild inside a game and wasn't even someone with real power in the group.

He became an example for those who think their words carry weight in the real world after becoming famous and leads hundreds of thousands of people inside...a game.

Orkhon and Brooke looked at each other and shrugged their shoulders.

"Oi, since when have you become smart?" Brook chuckled while looking at Code.

"Stupid, I've always been smart, smarter than you!" Code laughed with a grin on his face.

Brooke just shook her head and didn't bother replying to him and instead turned her attention towards Orkhon.

"Not only Teira and the rest are our problems, but the group of assassins from the Revenants Guild had also joined the fray and caused us a lot of losses. Just where the heck had those people had popped out from?"

"And how come we've never heard of them?"

"That's the problem, there's no information about them at all. I even had someone to look through to the previous games before if there were people like them before, but nothing came up. It's like their mushrooms that sprouted from out of nowhere"

"Especially, that player called Shadow, I've met players who called themselves Shadows before, but I've never seen someone as skilled at him"

"Everything hasn't been going our way since those people appeared," Orkhon said with a darkened face. It was because they had long notice that those people from the Revenants Guild would always attack them if any members from their guild happen to bump into them, even ordinary players weren't spared from death.

"Even our guilds are being harassed by those bastards. I don't know what skills they have, but they are like c.o.c.kroaches, so freaking hard to kill!" Code crossed his arms while nodding his head, his voice full of respect.

After all, he had almost died once under their hands, and if it wasn't for it being game, then he would have been dead by now, and people like him who only wants to fight powerful players to improve themselves had given his respect and admiration for their skills.

It was because playing the game is easy as players just need to follow the action sequence of the skill, but sometimes, there are those players like Code, Tiera, Michael, and more who relies on their fighting capabilities.

It means these people are incorporating both of their fighting capabilities in real life and the skills in the game at the same time, which makes them almost unpredictable and hard to kill.

After all, it's hard to stand above millions of players just relying on the skill sequence.

Brooke coldly snorted and said, "We gather more players then! It would be impossible for Layfun to stop us from entering Pan Kingdom with his few men no matter how skilled he is as a commander!"

Orkhon nodded in agreement to her, "Don't worry, with War Dragons headquartered being based on the other side of the continent, we don't need to worry about them. What we should worry about are those fence-sitters"

"We don't need to worry about them for the time being. The elites of the Merchant Society and Night Remnant are so freaking unlucky that they are being hunted by that scary Red Dragon" Brooke said while laughing when she remembered something.

"Right, it was even reported in the news! Just what did they do that a beast of that caliber is out for blood towards them?" Code said, his eyes shining with curiosity and excitement as he really regretted not spawning in the western continent.

Brooke shrugged her shoulders and said, "I'm not really sure about what happened as they locked down the news behind it, so only them knows what transpired between them and the dragon, but we shouldn't need to worry about them for now as we would certainly know if a large group of players enters the Forest of Despair"

"But we should still keep a lookout on the Wandering Souls as they are headquartered here" Orkhon added.

"No worries, my vice leader is taking care of that now," Brooke said.

"Alright, let's order some food then and discuss how to change our approach in taking Morgash City while eating"

Meanwhile.

Michael noticed that the search for the killer of Steve had suddenly halted.

"Right, I guess it's that time already huh" he shrugged his shoulders and went back to cooking food for their dinner.

"What are you mumbling about over there?" Amanda's voice called out to him from the living room.

"I'm just talking to myself" Michael turned towards her with a smile.

Amanda stared at him for a second and said, "You're really..weird sometimes"

"I am?" Michael wore a look of confusion on his face before he smiled and said, "I guess so! Hahaha"

'And also mysterious, I still can't forget about what I saw that night. Just who is he? Is he a hired killer, an assassin or something?' she thought to herself and started shaking her head to get those thoughts out of her mind before focusing her attention back to what she's watching.

"What do you think about the war happening in the Pan Kingdom?" Amanda quickly called when she saw the news about it on the television.

"Well, it's exciting, isn't it? It's the first large-scale war in the game, and when it ends, a huge change would certainly happen as it would determine whose alliance would stand above the others for a short while" answered Michael after thinking for a couple of seconds.

"But I'm more worried if their guild is doing fine"

Amanda turned her body towards the kitchen as she looked at Michael, "About Dylan's guild?"

"Yeah, after all, they are really small compared to those guilds who had been in the business for a long time now"

"They'll be fine"

"I guess, no use worrying about it"

After a short talk, Michael was finally done with the cooking and both of them had dinner together.
