Chapter 184 - Serial Task

Chapter 184 Serial TaskMaster Di did not even raise his head. And his tone to Xiaofeng sounded quite impatient.

According to the background information of the game, the Dwarfs believed in the Earth Goddess, who had nothing to do with the Temple of Light at all; therefore, they didn’t have much respect for Xiaofeng’s Archbishop title.

“Well… Mr. Archbishop, you must’ve seen it. My old friend Dilu and I are at the critical juncture of a very important research. Why don’t you come to us after we’re done?” Di Wuya asked Xiaofeng, looking embarrassed.

Xiaofeng considered it for a while then asked, “How long will it take?”

“About two days or so. No more chitchat, young man. Just wait for us somewhere and don’t bother us anymore,” answered Master Di. He seemed to have been interrupted by Xiaofeng, and he looked quite angry. Then he started to look for something in the workshop, and he asked, “Why are we running out of refined steel again? What are we keeping those disciples for?”

Xiaofeng’s eyes moved and he asked immediately, “Can I do anything for you?”

“Well? You?” Master Di turned back to check out Xiaofeng upon hearing that. He hesitated for a moment then agreed. “It’s fine if you want to, and you’ll help us finish it faster so that you don’t have to wait that long.”

“Well, if there’s anything I can do for you, please don’t hesitate to ask.”

“Then go to the Shadowmines Cave and collect 10 refined steel minerals for us. Remember to bring us the purest ones,” Master Di said and he gave the task to Xiaofeng quite bluntly.

“Ding! Accept the task of refined steel mineral collecting or not? Please go to the Shadowmines Cave on the east side of Blackrock City, and collect 10 purest refined steel minerals. Hand them to Master Di.”

“Accepted.”

At the same time, Xiaofeng had received the task notification. He took it over and was about to leave before Master Di Wuya stopped him.

“Hang on, Mr. Archbishop, the Shadowmines Cave has been occupied by a horrifying monster. I believe you’ll be fine because you’re powerful, but to make the collection easier, please allow me to teach you advanced collection techniques so that you’ll be more likely to collect high-purity minerals.”

Master Di Wuya spoke as he waved his hand to Xiaofeng and a system prompt sounded in Xiaofeng’s ear.

“Hey! Your Collection skill proficiency has leveled up!”

“Hey! Your Collection skill proficiency has leveled up!”

“Hey! You have learned Advanced Collection skills.”

Xiaofeng was surprised at the advantage brought by the task. Maybe that was because he was the Archbishop. Master Di Wuya would just ignore him if he was an ordinary player.

He left Master Di Wuya for the cave outside the city. He wanted to accomplish the task as soon as possible so that Master Di Wuya could forge the equipment for him sooner. Maybe soon enough that he could make it to the activity among all servers.

“Master Healer, are you going out for a task?” Little Fox was waiting outside the workshop. She asked because she might’ve overheard their conversation.

“Correct.”

Xiaofeng answered casually and kept walking quickly to the east side of the Blackrock.

Little Fox was trying hard to keep up with Xiaofeng’s pace. And she asked sincerely, “Is there anything that the Wolves Guild can do for you?”

“Well? Then do me a favor and ask if anyone knows where the map of the Shadowmines Cave is.” Xiaofeng hesitated for a while. Given the good connection he had with the Wolves, he didn’t want to beat around the bush, so he asked her bluntly.

In fact, given his influence today, he would be privileged no matter which guild’s territory he was in.

On one hand, his great power was quite threatening, and on the other hand, any guild would be glad to have Xiaofeng.

“The Shadowmines Cave? I’ll do it for you.”

Little Fox inquired about it on the channel of her guild. She was in a high position among the Wolves, so the reply came back to her very soon.

“One guild member knows it. I already told him to come to Blackrock. We’ll meet him at the Transmission Formation.”

Xiaofeng would have to go through the center of the city if he headed east, so he was going to meet the player from the Wolves guild there. The guy was a Kobold and might be a high-level rogue.

“Thank you, then I’ll take him there. You’re moving so slowly, so you can quit following me.”

Xiaofeng thanked her and left with the rogue, leaving Little Fox behind.

Little Fox stood still for a while and her mind went blank. She felt so bitter because that was the first time this charming woman had been rejected by a man without a second thought.

The rogue’s mount was a hound, and it ran fast. It might be slower than Xiaoxue, but was much faster than the most expensive mount sold in the system store.

Within 10 minutes, they arrived at the entrance of a dark mine.

“Master Healer, here we’re at the Shadowmines Cave. There are two kinds of monsters in there, both at the 20th level. One is some kind of invisible ghost and the other one is zombie miners. They’re barely risky for us but they may interrupt us while we collect. That would be troublesome. The traders in our guild often mine here under other’s protection.”

The rogue knew who Xiaofeng was, and he told this to Xiaofeng very sincerely at the entrance.

“Invisible ghost? How are we supposed to deal with them?” Xiaofeng hesitated and asked.

“They’ll be exposed as soon as they initiate an attack.” The rogue looked at Xiaofeng curiously because he thought that it was common sense.

“Can’t we just expose them? What if the monster won’t be exposed even if it initiates an attack?”

“Attacking and not being exposed? Then it would be invincible.” The rogue shook his head and thought about it for a moment. “The archers will learn the Eyes of Truth, which enable them to see invisible targets. It’s almost impossible for other professions to deal with that kind of monster you just mentioned.”

“Okay, thank you.”

Xiaofeng shook his head regretfully. He then said goodbye to the rogue and entered the Shadowmines Cave.

The rogue didn’t offer up the idea to be Xiaofeng’s guard. In fact, nobody in Huaxia District knew his horrifying strength because he was a priest.

The cave was deep and there were minerals to be mined everywhere on the walls. As he went down, he saw many trade players digging those minerals, with fighting players nearby to protect them.

Xiaofeng had performed the advanced collection skills many times, but near the cave entrance, all he collected were ordinary and useless minerals. He had no choice but to go deep.

Later on, he ran into both monsters that the rogue had mentioned, but all of them had Undead Attribute. They were no risk to Xiaofeng at all. He killed all of them within seconds.

He kept going deeper until he could see no players and hordes of monsters. Then he collected the first piece of refined steel mineral.

Given his high Luck points, the first one he got was already one of the purest ones. He kept collecting, and seldom did he see those with low purity.

Soon, he got all the 10 high-purity refined steel minerals that Master Di required. He didn’t want to stay long so he left the place with the Returning Scroll.

“That was quick.”

In the workshop, Master Di was obviously very surprised by Xiaofeng’s speed. It had taken him less than an hour.

“Well done! I’m almost impressed. This will accelerate our process greatly. Now, why don’t you go to the Rotten Moor and get me 20 portions of Rotten Slime’s mucus? That’s the best fusion ever!”

Xiaofeng had already known that this might be serial tasks, so he kept running for it without much hesitation.

It had taken him a whole afternoon to run for the task given by Master Di. He was very active at first, but as time went by, he grew impatient. He tried to shirk the work by giving it to Qian Duoduo, and had her to send the ready-made materials in the Treasure Pavilion. He would only search for those that the Treasure Pavilion didn’t have.

However, given the storage and collections of the Treasures Pavilion nowadays, Xiaofeng could find almost all that he needed unless the materials were too difficult to obtain or were super rare.

He went offline on time at noon and grabbed his lunch. Then he went online again to run for the tasks. Xiao Ling was still mad at him and they didn’t even talk during lunch. Xiaofeng ignored her because she would be fine soon enough.

“Hey, Master Healer, you still there? Have you finished your task yet?”

After he went online, he waited in line at the Transmission Formation of the Blackrock. The Transmission Formation flashed. Little Fox appeared with those Wolves he had seen before. The team of 50 people stood in formation there. It looked like they had some mission to complete.

Kitten was also there, and she waved her hand to greet Xiaofeng.

“Not yet, they’re called serial tasks and I think I’m going to finish in a few more rounds.”

Xiaofeng shook his head and answered. The Wolves had helped him twice, so he was quite friendly to them now.

“Serial tasks? Do you need any help? The capital city of the Wolves is near the Blackrock. We’ve got plenty of members here. Master Healer, you don’t have to run for those collecting tasks on your own,” Little Fox said with her intriguing and beautiful eyes.

Other Wolves members shared the same idea. It was a precious chance that they could get connected with the most powerful healer in Huaxia District.

“No need. I think I’ve already finished all those collecting tasks.” Xiaofeng checked the message that Qian Duoduo sent to him and answered.

After he said that, the Transmission Formation flashed again and a female player with lousy equipment came out. She had to be a trade player. She checked around and ran to Xiaofeng immediately after she saw him.

“10 stalks of Flame Grass, 3 salamander guts. Please take a look. We only have one piece of forging material in the storage in Shengshui City. We’ll have the rest delivered from other major cities.”

This female player was a member of the Treasure Pavilion. Xiaofeng had met her a few times, and maybe she was in charge of the Pavilion’s Shengshui City branch.

“Thank you.”

Xiaofeng purchased the materials and thanked the player. And she checked out Xiaofeng from head to toe with curiosity. Then she went into the Transmission Formation and left.

The moment she left, the Transmission Formation flashed again and a female player with lousy equipment and a low level showed up in the Blackrock. She recognized Xiaofeng at first glance; therefore, she walked around fast and sent a transaction request to Xiaofeng.

“9 pieces of forging material, one piece of the fur of a fire-attribute BOSS. Please take a look.”

These two female players were just the beginning. The Transmission Formation of the Blackrock had been constantly lighting up after that. Beautiful female players came one after another and sold all kinds of materials to Xiaofeng.

They were all in charge of a city branch of the Treasure Pavilion. Some of those materials were special products of the major cities, so the stocks in the cities varied. They had to transfer the goods from 10 more storages to meet Xiaofeng’s demands.

Qian Duoduo worked really fast. Xiaofeng sent her a list of materials before he went offline, and it had just taken her the time of lunch to get the goods delivered. The foundation of the Treasure Pavilion was getting more and more profound.

Little Fox’s beautiful eyes stopped rolling. Her stunning face looked surprised. After seeing the female players who constantly sent various materials to Xiaofeng, she felt that it was incredible and asked in the team channel, “Which power do those traders belong to?”

“I don’t know. There’s no guild information beside their names, but they may belong to the same power because they seemed to know each other. They even greeted each other.”

“There were lots of materials I’ve never heard of. That’s quite efficient of them.”

“It must be a big guild, with a vast controlling range. Judging by the name, some of the materials belonged to opposite attributes. They came from different major cities.”

“You don’t say? I’ve heard multiple cities from them. Which guild covers that large range? Is it the Dynasty?”

“What the heck? Isn’t Master Healer a free man? Who told me that? I’ll kill him?”

“Yes, he has a powerful force backing him up. Looks like our Wolves has lost the chance to approach him.”

“Fortunately, we haven’t had any confrontation with him. A power that can cultivate a powerhouse like Master Healer? It gives me chills just thinking about it.”
