Chapter 257: Cloud Tribulation Descends!

Back at the Flying Sword Sect, Xuan Hao took out one of his purification pills and handed it over to Elder Song.

"Here, take this before you try to breakthrough to the Nascent Soul Realm, it should be able to increase the strength of your soul and allow you to reach the Nascent Soul Realm smoothly!"

Listening to Xuan Hao as he explained the use of the pill to him, Elder Song nodded his head filled with determination.

If he could not even reach the Nascent Soul Realm after that, he would be disappointing Elder Xuan and wasting his efforts on him!

Even Elder Song knew that a pill that could increase the strength of his soul would be extremely rare and hard to come by.

Elder Xuan must have encountered all sorts of dangers to get his hands on it! I can't let his efforts go to waste.

Thinking this as he gratefully  looked up a Xuan Hao, Elder Song swallowed the purification pill and closed his eyes.

The moment the pill entered his body, Elder Song felt a sudden influx of energy course through his body as it rushed towards his dantian.

Not stopping there, the energy directly rushed into his core floating at the centre of his dantian.

"Hm? What happened!?"

Seeing Elder Song suddenly scream out in pain after swallowing the purification pill, Xuan Hao rushed over and placed his palm on top of his head as his divine sense directly entered his body and soon arrived at his dantian.

Earlier, when he had used the purification pill, he had never felt even the slightest amount of pain as it had directly been absorbed by his nascent soul. Strengthening it in an instant-

Realizing something, Xuan Hao did not know what to say…

The purification pill strengthened the soul of a cultivator… The only problem was… At the Core Formation Realm, a cultivator's soul had yet to evolve to a stage where it was visible and would remain hidden inside the core of the cultivator.

During the Core Formation Realm, a cultivator would slowly strengthen their core a nurture it until it gave birth to a nascent soul. Almost like an egg for the soul to strengthen and grow inside of.

Elder Song was at the Core Formation Realm and his soul had not broken out of its core and become a nascent soul yet…

So… The only way that the energy of the purification pill could strengthen his soul…

Was by piercing directly through his golden core and reach his soul hidden inside…

Xuan Hao felt bad after seeing Elder Song screaming in pain in front of him, but he did not worry too much after seeing the energy only strengthened his soul and did not cause any harm to Elder Song… Outside of the pain he felt from having something directly pierce through his golden core…

The screaming of Elder Song slowly began to go away as the purification pill finished strengthening the soul hidden inside of his golden core.

This, however, was quickly replaced by several small cracks appearing on his golden core as it was about to break and given birth to his nascent soul.

Given that Elder Song was already half a step into the Nascent Soul Realm, the purification pill strengthening his soul even further, managed to just push him over the edge as his golden core began the process of cracking apart and give birth to his Nascent Soul on its own!

Elder Song's aura changed completely as his golden core broke apart and gave birth to his nascent soul in the shape of a small ball of light that floated gently at the centre of his dantian.

Only after reaching the peak of the Nascent Soul Realm would the small ball that was his nascent soul become a miniature version of himself like Xuan Hao's nascent soul. Until then, it would just be in the shape of a ball and could not truly be considered a true nascent soul.

Only upon strengthening it and reaching the peak of the Nascent Soul Realm would one have a true nascent soul.

Elder Song's nascent soul had just been born and even though it was stronger than normal, it was still weak.

It was at this moment that  a silver cloud with a few tints of gold at the edges filled with an unfathomable aura appeared inside of Elder Song's dantian.

The cloud tribulation had arrived! And it was not a silver cloud tribulation like Chi Hu had experienced but was a silver cloud tribulation about to reach the level of a gold cloud tribulation!

It would not be wrong to considered it a cloud tribulation above the silver level but just below the gold level!

The silver cloud with hints of gold at the edges directly flew over and merged together with the newly born nascent soul of Elder Song.

Boom!

The aura around Elder Song instantly changed as the cloud merged together with his nascent soul, causing it to grow stronger, but at the same time unstable to the point that it was close to collapsing at any moment.

Xuan Hao removed his hand from the top of Elder Song's head and instead sat down a short distance away from him.

He could not interfere with the cloud tribulation as it would only end up harming Elder Song if he did so.

All he could do now was hope that he could endure the process of merging together with the weird cloud and survive.

The process of merging together the cloud and new-born nascent soul was a critical part in helping the nascent soul grow stronger and allow the cultivator to truly step into the Nascent Soul Realm!

Other than all that, failure would ultimately result in the new-born nascent soul perishing as it could not endure the process of merging together with the cloud.

Preventing the cloud from merging together with the nascent soul was also not doable.

Apparently, some people had tried it in the past, but the unfathomable power that surrounded the cloud prevented anyone from interfering in the process of the cloud tribulation and in the end, they had given up.
