42 Setting sail

Mike gave a slight smile and asked

"Is there a problem?"

The receptionist gave a smile as she answered

"No problem at all, unlike this small shitty island we don't discriminate based on whether you are a demon or not"

Mike gave a slight smile until he felt Julie pinch his hand from the side, then he broke eye contact with the receptionist that looked at the crystal ball and quickly wrote down Mike's class without batting an eye

"Next, Julie please put your hand on the crystal ball"

Julie gave a nod and put her hand on the crystal ball, then the receptionist wrote down her class and gave a nod before she stamped the document with a seal and gave a smile as she spoke to Mike and Julie

"Congratulations you are now citizens of Thera, please stay in the building while you wait for the next ship which will arrive tomorrow, I'll show you to your rooms n---"

"They're in here!"

A shout interrupted the receptionist that gave a frown, Mike turned around and looked at the ones that had shouted

'[Paladin]'s? No they are level 4… Shit'

The group that arrived was clearly filled with level 4's, a total of five to be exact, other than them there were at least thirty level 3's, all of them were [Paladin]'s

"There they are!"

One of them pointed towards Mike and his group which made Mike narrow his eyes slightly before he gave a sigh and muttered

"Looks like we were a step too slow…"

Despair hit Mike hard, nevertheless he didn't regret what he had done at all, in fact if the top level on this island was 3 he would have continued to slaughter the people here without remorse, alas there were people more powerful than him here and even though Julie was strengthened to level 4 she would be unable to deal with five level 4's

"Master, take the mistress and run"

"We'll hold them off as long as we can!"

Mike gave a sigh, just as he had given up a red light flashed in his eyes, it grew brighter and brighter and just as his eyes were about to turn crimson a voice sounded out behind them that made it stop before his eyes turned back to normal

"What the fuck are you doing here!? This is Thera territory!"

It was the receptionist from before that yelled at the group of [Paladin]'s and the five [Greater paladin]'s, one of the [Greater paladin]'s answered

"We are here to apprehend heinous criminals that have slaughtered over 10.000 of our people, I hope Thera won't interfere"

The receptionist gave a sigh and looked at Mike and Julie before she asked

"So it wouldn't be you guys he's talking about would it?"

Mike gave a nod

"Yeah that would be us"

The receptionist gave a long sigh before she made a few hand signals to the other receptionists, then she answered the [Greater paladin]

"You can be sure as hell that Thera will interfere, these are our citizens you see, all crime committed on foreign soil has nothing to do with us or them for that matter, this is your last chance to leave!"

The [Greater paladin]'s face turned ugly, he was the leader of this force and was told by his superiors that if he managed to catch or kill the criminals he would be handsomely awarded, likewise if he failed he would lose any chance of climbing the ranks further so after weighing the pros and cons for a moment he raised his hand and yelled

"Kill the criminals!"

"[Flow acceleration]"

However as soon as he yelled a sword was embedded into his chest piercing his heart, not a dagger, a full sized sword that seemed to have appeared out of nowhere

'No that's not right… it was thrown..?'

Mike was confused, his eyes had barely caught the sword that had killed the leader of the [Paladin]'s instantly, Mike looked back at the receptionist that gave him a reassuring smile before she spoke again

"[Flow acceleration]"

With that another four swords were embedded in the chests of the other four [Greater paladin]'s killing them instantly, this of course did scared the shit out of the other thirty [Paladin]'s that soon turned tail and ran out of the building, Mike gave a sigh as he watched them run away as the desire to grow stronger inside him grew exponentially

"Now that those pests are gone let me show you to your rooms"

"Thanks"

"Don't mention it, we are both citizens of Thera now"

The night passed uneventfully, Mike woke up on the side of a double bed and for sometime he looked into the ceiling with a blank face until he suddenly gritted his teeth and punched down on the mattress with half of his full strength, he was frustrated

'I can't believe that I got saved by some receptionist..! I have to get stronger! Strong enough to kill whoever threatens my life!'

Mike got up from the bed and began pacing around in the room fuming, Julie that laid on the double bed woke up and saw Mike fuming, after looking at him pacing around the room a few times she got up from the bed and hugged him tightly

"It's okay Mike, we still have time"

Mike still fuming tried to shake Julie off, but alas she was strengthened to level 4 and he was only level 3 so his efforts quickly proved futile so he asked

"Time for what?"

Julie tightened her hug slightly

"Time to get stronger"

Hearing this Mike calmed down a little and asked

"Aren't you frustrated too?"

"Yeah… Of course I am"

Mike gave a sigh and raised his arms and hugged Julie back, and for sometime the both of them stood and seared a moment together until there was a knock on the door before Rebecca's voice sounded out from behind the door

"Master, mistress it's time to wake up"

Mike gave Julie a quick kiss before he spoke

"We're up, give us 5 minutes to get dressed"

"Understood master"

Then Mike and Julie got dressed and packed their things before they left the room and found Elina and Rebecca waiting outside the room, they stood on either side of the door acting like guards, Mike showed a wry smile and spoke to them

"Let's go get Molly and Serina"

""Yes master""

Mike walked arm in arm with Julie and Elina and Rebecca followed right behind them, after navigating the hallways they eventually reached the first floor of the migration office and quickly arrived at the stables where they picked up Serina and Molly before the receptionist from yesterday showed up

"It's good to see that you are ready, please follow me down to the docks, the ship will leave in three hours"

Mike gave a nod and then the group followed after the receptionist, as they walked through the streets they once again received some looks filled with greed but no one stopped them, after all there was a receptionist from the migration office among them and all the locals knew exactly how dreadful the receptionists could be, soon the group arrived at the docks were a giant ironclad was docked, the hull was covered in interconnected delicate cravings that seemed to form a formation on the ships hull, Mike only realized that it was a practical formation and not some grand artwork because he was so familiar with igniter paper, besides that the ship was lined with cannons up on the deck and two giant steam funnels rose high above the deck, all in all it was a very impressive ship

"Please board the ship, I wish you a safe journey to Thera"

Mike gave a slight smile

"Thanks for everything"

The receptionist returned his smile

"You're welcome, but I better not hear anything about you guys wiping out towns on Thera too"

"That won't be a problem, I promise"

'At least until I am level 5…'

The receptionist's smile widened, she was completely unaware of Mike's thoughts

"Very good, now please board the ship and have a pleasant journey"

Mike gave a nod and stepped on the plank that lead to the ship, after walking over he saw that a lot of people were gathered on the deck, and only a few of them were sailors

'Looks like there's a lot of new citizens here…'

Julie soon joined him and then Elina and Rebecca also walked onto the deck of the ship, next Molly landed on the deck besides Julie and then finely Serina jumped onto the ship, the group drew some attention from the others on the deck due to the size of their group, but after inspecting them for some time most lost interest and looked away, other than a few that were captivated by Julie, Elina and Rebecca, even though Mike didn't really think about it they were all beauties and thus they caught the attention of some rather unsavory types
